My favs of the night- cheddar biscuits are rich, soft and buttery but, the real deal is dessert. Peanut butter cups and apple crisp I will go back for.

Fog City Diner is a nice little restraurant, shaped like a trolly right off the Embarcadero in San Francisco. I found out about this place through my co-workers. The first time I ordered a dozen of oysters for lunch. The oysters come in bite-size served on crushed rock salt. Very nice presentation. What's even better is when get to slurp it off of its shell, but don't forget to put the special sauce, lemon and tabasco!
PROS: Cool ambiance, great quality seafood and burgers
CONS: Parking is a little difficult and can get real crowded during lunch and dinner.

If you are are a local to the Bay Area, I would say check this place out just to get it out of your system. It's fun. I've been coming here for years now and the food is really good. My only complaint is the service is very inconsistent.

When I set at my office, I get a shiny glimmer every now and then... it's the sun reflecting off their ultra polished metal sides. Nothing like a bright shine to remind me that I need to drop by and get a $8 burger.
4I had to eat in this place without reading any reviews. I ordered Caesar's Salad because I thought nobody cannot make any mistakes on salad. Well, I was wrong. I never see this Caesar's Salad before!!! Actually, they just cut the bottom of

I took my Mom out for dinner at Fog City Saturday night. We were told there was a 1/2 hour wait for two. We waited well over an hour and there were plenty of open seats. The hostess was not very pleasant or apologetic about our wait.

a friend took me here for dinner. the restaurant itself is beautiful.. feels like you go back in time. nice decorations.
service is good...serves mainly seafood.. real good, and not too expensive for SF standard.
we were full so we didn't get to try dessert, which was a bummer. they had pretty good selections. next time we will make sure we make room for dessert

If you're want overpriced food with snotty service/waiter, this is the place to go! My girlfriend and I went in to have something light to eat at 9.30pm. Not feeling very hungry since we've already had dinner, we ended up ordering 5

This is a great diner. You can choose between salads and burgers or full fledged mains. The homemade pickles are fantastic. There's a full bar and a good wine list. The wait staff is attentive and very family friendly.
Beware the tap water is the worst I have ever tasted in my life.

Like many of you, i had chalked the Fog City up to being solely for tourists and "diner food". So untrue. With the rising new star chef, David Seawell (formerly of Boulevard) at the helm, the food at Fog City has gone "comfort cuisine".

Gotta say I was somewhat disappointed by the food. Ambience was excellent, but two fish dishes were both overcooked, even following a discussion with our server while ordering on the merits of not overcooking fish. How ironic -- and

Pros: Sweet potato fries!
Cons: Often busy
I've dined at Fog City at least 5 times. I don't suggest this restaurant for a romantic date or if you're on a schedule. But it's a great weekday, catch-a-meal-after-work place. The food is comforting (large portions) and reasonably

I'm not sure what has been sitting around longer, the restaurant or the food they serve. There are plenty of struggling places in San Francisco with wonderful food, but if you are interested in going to a place where the staff will act
