We go there a lot. Today, while my fiancee was parking, I walked in. Employee wanted me to stand out in cold although no one else was waiting. 2 people got up and left. table was cleaned and set up. I sat down. 2 people came in and the employee told me to get up cause my other person wasn't there yet. I asked if she was joking and she said no. I felt embarrassed and humiliated and left. I will not return. We went to Flippers.

Pros: you know what to expect!
Cons: kinda grimy
One of the busiest places on Haight Street and unfortunately not open for dinner, the pork store cafe has been one of the local favorites since it had opened. Fresh, greasy food!
5This spot is still my favorite breakfast spot. I love everything I have ever ordered. It is hearty, tasty and fast service. My old standard is the eggs and pork chops. So GOOD!

Great food and atmosphere. Pork Chops for Breakfast with Grits are a great way to recover from the night before. Some seating outside which is good if you have dogs. Bloody Mary's are good value.

I have been to the Haight Ashbury three times and each time, I return to the Pork Store for breakfast and I have yet to be disappointed. This must be the way a diner was during the days of my parents and others before me. I will admit that I do not get adventurous when it comes to the menu; bacon & eggs with hash browns are my typical fare (and the serings are large and healthy, from a male stand point anyway) but I LOVE this place! The price is affordavle and there are some who say the service might be lacking but when you have wall to wall people with a line out the door, it is hard to be overly cordial. Just the same, when I've been there, the girls have always taken the time to stop and chat (even if briefly). If you are able to make it to the Haight early (as in by 7 AM), you'll be able to have a more leisurely experience but whatever you do .... try and make the effort to stop by. I truly feel you won't be sorry!

Pros: Great Atmosphere in the best part of San Francisco
Cons: Get there early or else you will be scrambling for a seat
Went on a Sunday and sat at the counter. Not a long wait and great food. Had the chorizo scramble. Would definitely go back. Great deal for the cost and reall nice server. Normally I don't like counter seating but it was cool to watch them cook. Fast too.

Pros: Quick, good food
Cons: Tight seating but welcome to California
This breakfast place has the worst service I have ever experienced. It's not worth the wait. There are so many better places to get breakfast in the city. unless of course you like your food thrown at you and very rude employees. food is good but spoiled by experience.

There is something i look forward to every sunday morning, that is the French Toast at Pork Store Cafe. The server are just absolutely friendly. Expect the line in the morning but the Haight Street scene is enough to keep you entertained. If you are looking for a simple and good American breakfast, this is the place that is definitely worth the visit.

Caveat to my review: I went EARLY (7am) Monday morning so there was no wait. But I can see why there would be. The waitress was SO friendly and continually kept filling my coffee cup. It never got below the half-cup mark. The food came right away and tasted awesome and portions were definitely worth it. Great place for breakfast with a friend. Would not come here with crowds, though.

Cons: small tables, small cafe
The food is absolutely terrific, greasy goodness. We tried it out and went back again twice the next week.

Cons: Sometimes the wait is pretty long
Service is perfunctory but the breakfast food is great for the price. Usually a wait on the weekends but it's worth it.

i'm glad i woke early on sunday, otherwise i would have had to wait hours for a table. this very small, diner-type eatery was just what i needed to get my day started. the large menu offered many good choices, but i definitely recommend the "bird in a basket" special. so good that my boyfriend ditched his french toast to chow on my meal.

There's generally a line out the door during the weekend but it's worth the wait especially since they'll serve complimentary coffee. For those that are vegetarians they have and use a separate grill. I especially love their hash. Mmm mmm good. It's a bit small on the inside but so worth it to eat their food.
PROS:
CONS: Parking in the Haight, the wait

I'm not sure I'd wait more than 10-15 minutes to eat here, but the breakfast food is awesome and we found the service to be tip-top.

I can never imagine why this place has a line. What ARE people waiting for? If they're waiting for good food, they're waiting in the wrong line! I had the eggs florentine. Was that CANNED spinach in there or just horribly overcooked spinach? The hollandaise was like tastless goo. Yucky.

This is a great overall place, the waitresses are very friendly and the food exceeded our expectations in every way. We both ordered the Pork Store Special which came with two huge pork chops, two eggs, hash browns, and toast; all for less than $9! We sat at the counter and watched as the cooks in a tempayaki style create our meal. The coffee was great; not strong, not burned but served quickly, and my cup was never empty. We arrived at 9:30am on a Sat and the place was packed! I would recommend going their early but its worth the wait.

Pros: Great Food, Great Coffee, Great Service
Cons: Place was packed, nothing, nothing
It has been a favorite of mine for years especially after a late night. The atmosphere has a postive vibe that reminds me of a happy small town diner in the 50's movies but in present day. The coffee keeps coming along with nice portions of great food. I almost always get the Scralifornia and do my best to finish it. Sometimes the lines can be long and I try to plan accordingly.

Forget Kate's Kitchen for hangover Saturday breakfasts. The Pork Store beats it every time. They have fantastic specialty omelettes (try the californian) and any other breakfast food you're looking for, the Pork Store will do it great.
4This place has a huge portion for breafast and the place is always crowded. But if you can wait few minutes, you can sit at the bar and eat while you watch the food cooking right in front of you. Excellent service and great (cheap) price! Highly recommended!
4Ordered the Pork Store Special and didn't realize how huge the portions are! Good hot coffee, friendly staff and sat at the counter watching the food being prepared. Setbacks are bad parking and too few table(s). Be prepared for the wait!

I really enjoyed coming here. This place is not the place for group breakfasts but the food is cooked right in front of you if you're sitting at the bar. The servers are great and a lot of the local people come to this hot spot. There is a line at the door but it moves fairly quickly. Your typical breakfast - but don't forget to check out the specials hanging from the banister on the 2nd story!

its the best place in the city to eat a great meal. Good price for the amount of food that you get. The wait is worth it!!!

Don't be fooled by the name...the pork store has much more to offer than bacon and chops. One breakfast at the pork store can last you all day, and cheap too. You might smell like the grill when you leave, but its worth going back again and again to try another menu item that may be your favorite breakfast treat. I love the huevos rancheros.

Real nice breakfast and lunch foods. They offer healthy portions and good prices. It is definite diner ambiance, but overall a good place to grub. I recommend it for those into a no frills meal.

Here I was thinking I was in just another restaurant. I don't know what it is about this place but the more I eat the more I like. I recomend the Eggs Benedicts or the Huevos Rancheros, Oh my god is all I have to say. The wait staff are friendly they seem to know their stuff. Good Grubbing.

I have never met a ruder server! In fact, the service was sooo bad that we didn't wait for the food but left the table in disgust!

This place is awsome...great food and plenty of it. Nice atmosphere, too. However, expect a wait...unless you come at "off times" there usually a line.

Timeless breakfasty goodness, as good now as after long nights at the Sub Club.

YUM!! My sister, husband and I came across this cafe not knowing it's popularity. We walked in to a smell of what heaven must smell like. I ordered the french toast, my sister and husband ordered the chorizo. As we were eating, we did not talk the whole time! The food was totally delicious but I have to say that my sister paid for it the next day (hot going in, hot coming out). I would definatly advise others to try this place!

While there is always a wait, it isn't too long and the food is excellent comfort-breakfast-type food, omlettes, hash browns, etc. No real fu-fu type stuff, just truck-stop caliber, but well done! My favorite in the city. Great biscuits and apples sausage, too!

This place can' t be beat for generous portions of simple-but-great food and for people watching - not just the other patrons, but the endless parade of passersby on the sidewalk. Get one of the tables nestled into the two front windows if at all possible for maximum ogling of the Haight Street denizens and tourists. And make sure you order the special "house sausage" with your breakfast!!

I went to the Pork Store Restaurant after very high recommendations made by a few of my friends. I was disappointed. I had to wait 30 minutes just to get inside, and when my food arrived, the omelette was very over-cooked. In fact, 3 of the 4 people at my table received burned omelettes. They weren't black, but the whole underside of the omelettes were fried to a brown crisp and tough to cut with a fork. It was, without a doubt, the worst omelette I've ever tried to eat. The biscuits and gravey and the hash browns were good...thank heavens for side dishes! I won't spend my money there again.
