The Brass Door has been around for years in San Ramon. We went with a group. Prime Rib was the favorite dish. I remember having shrimp floating in butter. It was delicious but not a Weight Watcher??s Special. The food was good but we never went back.
4I like this restaurant because to me service is everything. I know a lot of people who are regulars here because of the friendly service. The food can be a bit expensive but I am big fan of you get what you pay for. So give it a try you wont be disappointed.
4You will find many people here at home. They seem so comfortable. Food is delicious and the servings are perfect. They have a great wine selection. We had a great experience and cannot wait to go back.
5I'm a single female traveler who visited the Brass Door at the suggestion of the hotel front desk clerk. Ordered from the "senior's" menu which is designed for lighter appetites (and yes - seniors, which I'm not!). The prime rib was excellent and the portion was quite generous for being billed as portioned for "lighter appetites". The service, food quality, and appealing menu options were so good I went back again the next night to try the veal. OUTSTANDING! Veal was very tender with a perfect crunch to the crust. I think I would ask for sauce on the side next time, though. I'm here for a week and have every intention of going back again at least once more (possibly twice) to try the seafood and maybe the chicken!! Wait staff recognized me the second night and was very gracious and welcoming. I felt so at home there. They've provided me with two very memorable meals and lovely dining experiences!

Pros: Quality of food, location, (easy to access), plenty of free parking, customer service
Cons: Veal was a bit over-sauced.
You know that the Brass Door is a special restaurant when you see how many regulars eat there. The staff has all been there for a long time, and are quiet and efficient. The menu is varied, especially for lunch. Desserts are excellent. There are daily specials. There is plenty of parking. The tables are large and comfortable for a business discussion. Prime Rib is their specialty, but all the dishes are good. I have been taking business clients there for 30 years, and we have never had a bad meal or an incident.
Very rarely does a customer fail to mention what a great lunch they just had. Often, I get communications from them later mentioning the lunch and how they look forward to coming again. When the Brass Door burned down a few years ago, it took them almost a year to rebuild, but the staff came back. That shows what a good place it is to work.

Last time I was here was to present at a Rotary meeting. This place is totally old school, local hangout, but a familiar standard of San Ramon. The food is decent.
3Would not recommend. Asked for lemon in our water & server facial expression & body language expressed impatience when she inquired about cocktails. Caeser salad plate was chilled however salad was not . When placing bill on table & returning credit card transaction she ackonwledge us with her back turned as she walked off. No excuse, restaurant was not busy as all.

The Brass Door has been around for over fifty years! Since then they've definitely perfected their Prime Rib and Seafood. A very classy joint which seems to be the local businessmans' meeting place and bar. I recently went their for lunch and had their Prime Rib French Dip! It was a little pricy for a sandwich but well worth it in the end! They have a huge wine list. The Brass Door is a perfect place for a romantic dinner...
