The cashier Trader Joe's are really obnoxious and even dangerous. And it seems that Trader Joe's has no control or is ignorant of what is going on with their employees.
I went to the Trader Joe's in Manhattan Beach awhile back to purchase some Ginger Root Beer soda. I bought 5 six pack and bring it up to the cashier. The cashier rings it up and I paid for it. The cashier gave me the receipt and I look through the receipt and notice he charge me for 6, not 5 six pack. I ask the cashier about it and he pretend like he did not know of and was going to talk to his manager to make the correction. I decided not to purchase anything and tell the guy to give me my money back. I took my money and left. Did not go back to Trader Joe??s Manhattan.
The Trader Joe??s in Eagle Rock employees are just as bad. Another time I went to purchase the Ginger Root Beer at Trader Joe??s in Eagle Rock and there was no Ginger Root Beer. I ask the employee about it and the employee said they won??t have it for awhile and steer me to a soda store in Highland Park. It was as if the employee was a shill for another store and was steering me away from Trader Joe??s in Eagle Rock to the soda store in Highland Park. And if it is true that he was a shill and Trader Joe's lets shills run freely in their stores, without oversight, then it would make sense why one of the cashier in Pasadana store tells me I should shop in Alhambra, as you get better deal in Alhambra, which I find obnoxious as no one asks for his 2 cents.
Another time I went to Trader Joe??s in Eagle Rock and the employee was really obnoxious. I want to beat the punk ass but did not want to be charged with assault or something so I just ignore the employee.
Then I went to the Trader Joe??s in Pasadena to purchase some Trader Joe??s brand potato chips. I got it and bring it up to the register. The employee was asking me nosy question and I did not say anything, but he persist in asking nosy question so I state that I do not want to talk to him about that personal subject. The employee starts to get belligerent so I said I don??t need to buy anything here and was going to leave. The employee was loud and the manager comes over and asks what happen. I told the manager the bad attitude of the employee and the employee did not like it so he lunges at me as if he was going to attack me. I was around 10 feet away at the moment and thought this was my chance to put one of these obnoxious Trader Joe??s employee in the Hospital legally, so I stand and wait for the employee to come to me and get his ass beaten. But the manager got in the way and block the employee from reach me. So I said to the manager that his employee was obnoxious and the employee lunge at me again. I thought again it was my change to beat this punk ass legally but the manager block the employee again. I see it was getting nowhere to me beating this punk ass so I just walk out, hoping this punk my try something. Nothing happen so I got in my car and left.
So beware when you go to Trader Joe??s in Pasadena. Unless you are willing to put their employees in the hospital, don??t go there. Or unless you have a friend who is a lawyer or access to a reliable lawyer, you can always sue Trader Joe??s in Pasadena because their employees assaulted you. Retail stores have been sued for lesser thing than that.
I myself don??t need to put up with all the crap at Trader Joe??s so I probably won??t be going to any Trader Joe??s ever again. Unless there is something that I can only get at Trader Joe??s, which I don??t think that there is anything at Trader Joe??s that I cannot get elsewhere.

I fined the people that work at this Trader Joe's to be very helpful, fun when having a conversation, and efficient. I have had questions about a product and if they do not have the answer they go out of their way to get the answer. I have recently been on a glutton free diet and Trader Joe's is the only store that carries 3 different kinds of Brown Rice Pasta for this Italian Girl !

The Trader Joe's in Hastings Ranch Pasadena double charged me for two items in a small group of items I was purchasing. When I went back the next day to get my money back, they were quick to offer a refund saying, "Our new scanners are sensitive and have been doing that. We're still working out the kinks." I asked for some compensation for the trouble of having to go in to get a refund.(I hadn't planned on going to Trader Joe's for several more weeks and would've forgotten about getting a refund or lost the receipt.) They refused any sort of compensation or "goodwill" gesture. I thought they were rather stern about their policy and didn't like how I was treated. I probably won't shop there again or will go to another Trader Joe's. Check your receipts carefully.

I love all Trader Joe's to begin with - this one has a great layout and a really friendly staff like all the Trader Joe's usually do. The only bummer about this location is that the parking can be a pain. They have a really small lot, so if you put 15 cars in it, you're outta luck. Fortunately the street parking doesn't have crazy parking laws, but it can kind of be a pain if you're doing a major shopping spree. P.S. - try their fruit leather fruit rollups. They're only like 50 cents and they are awesome.

This is my favorite TJ's. The service is great, the people are nice, and they always find you what you need. Plus, it's close to my house. The only downside is parking. It's hard to find. But it's still a good and fast place to get in and out of.
5Parking is tough here, the lot is small and street parking is tight. It gets a 3 star rating though because trader joes is such a great market. Can't beat the 2 buck chuck and the great prices. This store seems a bit smaller to me that the others, but I have always found the selection to be decent and it is well stocked.

I love Trader Joe's. Great flowers, cheap and healthy food. However, this particular TJ's has HORRID parking. The best bet is the four spots in the alley or finding a spot of the street. Everytime I stop in there I am fearful I am going to get hitby someone in the parking lot or pulling out onto Arroyo. Try the TJ's on South Lake or Hastings Ranch.

I really like the price and general health of the food you get at Trader Joes, and I'd give it 5 stars -- if I hadn't gotten horribly sick off their strombolis one time. Still, a 3-star review, after that, should mean something. Maybe it means I'm a fool, but...
3This is the best place to shop. They sell healthy foods at low price. What I like the best is the nice friendly service and how fast they are.
5Awesome! Many people don't realize that along with an awesome selection of foods (and wine!) TJ's has many lower prices too! Do a comparison on frozen fish, for example, and you'll see.
5Trader Joe's remains a must. It is not cheap, but is always affordable. I would love to have a person cutting the cheese for you, instead of buying them already wrapped. The vast majority of the staff is very nice. Watch your packed salads; there are sometimes brown leaves inside packages, while the date on the package is still indicating that the salad is fresh. TJ is often introducing new imported products to the U.S.
From time to time, you will find the same product cheaper at 99c stores. The wine selection could change more frequently.

Pros: AFFORDABLE, GOOD PRODUCTS
The best place to go. This Trader Joes has full section of huge section of cut flowers, potted plants and a variety of gourmet & own brand items including a huge section of cut flowers, potted plants. Good prices, friendly service. They will order things for you if they are out of it. - I would suggest checking dates of packages the plastic boxed salads dont hold up too well. Check out lines can be long, and parking is very limited.

No need to wax on about the great unusual food items this place has. What is not obvious though, is that the staples (milk, produce, eggs, butter) are significantly cheaper than the other markets, often half the price. The frozen fish are a particularly good bargain, as are the organic cereals. This location is, however, cursed with a very small parking lot which is impossible to navigate through and is pretty much crowded at all hours of the day. They could open past 9 pm and probabaly rake in a lot more business.

Trader Joe's is a foodie's Costco. Items in bulk, off-brands, no-brands, rarities from all over the world. Produce is limited but of good quality; same with meat and fish. There's a good wine selection, and great prices on distilled spirits. The selection is particularly good during the holidays--panettone, chocolates, German cakes and cookies. Worth a visit even if your pantry is full.
