I went to this place on a recommendation from the Valet captain at the hotel. After getting there quite easily (thanks to the crystal clear instructions I got from the captain) I arrived to find parking a bit of a challenge. I was pleased that they were willing to make me a dish not on the menu and it tasted excellent when I got back to the hotel. Garlic naan was good, a bit too crispy. I would recommend against the Mango Lassi...not the best I have had.

I am still partial to my location in Colorado, but I would recommend anyone staying near LAX to give this place a try. :-)

I used to live across the street from this place and I very often called and picked up my orders. Excellent food! Really affordable combos that will feed up to 3 people. I often got the vegetarian combo which was very good. Their lamb is tender and seasoned to perfection, as well.

I only ate inside the restaurant one time. It's very quaint/cramped. I wasn't into their ambiance and preferred to just get food to go.

The food here is great! It isn't too spicy which makes it perfect for someone who has a very sensitive palette. I would recommend the Mango Lasi drink, Vegetable Samosas, Chicken Tikka Masala and Garlic Naan for you first timers. Plus, if you order too much food, it is also great for leftovers!

In my opinon there are two types of Indian resturants...those that are a culanary black hole and those that are worth eating at again and again. The food was great (I had the lamb saag) and the staff was friendly. The only big problem I saw was parking...if you can make it up their drive way there are only 2 or 3 spots and we saw people parking in a doctors office lot next door.

We've been eating here for years. Sometimes when feeling lazy we'll call and have it delievered but it's definately better to go and eat there. Don't get me wrong, I've never had a bad meal from them but as we all know, delivery alters the food slightly, especially the samosas and naan bread. It's gotten to a point where we walk in and don't bother with a menu, they already know what we want. Friendly, lovely, welcoming people own/run this restaurant and the overall experience is just great. If you're in the mood for Indian food, specifically awesome Indian food, eat there!

I agree with the other postings - the best Indian food is in England. But assuming you can't get there, this is a pretty good alternative - by far the best Indian food from Venice and Torrance (and I've tried them *all*).

I especially recommend the chicken tikka masala and the saag paneer is quite superb. The staff are super friendly and a pleasure to deal with.

Only downside - the restaurant itself is small and really a bit shabby. I always do takeout or delivery. For delivery, be prepared to wait up to an hour, especially on a Friday night - these guys are *popular*!

*Highly* recommended!

I went here for the first time this week with friends. The tandoori combination plate was fabulous and had a lot of food. The service was superb. Parking is a bit dicey....drive up a steep hill and park in back. SUVs beware!

Tandoor A India has fresh baked indian breads, and cuisine that is alive with the flavors and aromas of great indian food. Our combination platter was an excellent value and provided a taste of several types of foods. The service was prompt and the bill was modest as well.

I had been to LA for a week and I tried this restaurant by chance. This is the best Indian food I have had in the US so far. Service was superb; Rajan made me feel at home. The spice level was made exactly as per request, overall a great experience. I would recommend it to anyone.

We live down the street and decided to order take-out one night. When we placed our order, they said it would be about 20 minutes. The food showed up over an hour later, and we live about a block away...It was greasy and falling out of the containers. I don't know where the guy had taken it. The food wasn't that good, and definitely not worth the wait.

I have been to many Indian restaurants and this by far is the best. I have brought 3 other friends who all now claim it is their fave Indian restaurant too. I want to try their other food, but I am so happy with the Chicken Korma, Saag Paneer, Lamb Biryani, and Raita (BEST RAITA - get some and bring it home) - that I haven't wanted to try anything else. Also, their mint chutney and tamarind sauce (is that what you call them) or also the best of any restaurant. Delivery or Eat-in - the food is always outstanding.

We eat here once a month (we also get coupons in mailers). We've been coming here for years. The food is great. We like the buffett, too. My favorite is chicken makhani. I also loveo the various naans they offer. The service is friendly (I think it helps that they recognise us).

This local neighborhood Indian restaurant has quickly become my favorite. Granted, there are not a lot of other options for Indian nearby, but Tandoor-A-India is quite good. Their chicken tikka masala is so tasty, we end up scraping the sauce off the bottom of the container. Aloo gobi is our other favorite. At lunch time during the week they offer a buffet for about $7 that has a good selection and really hits the spot if you like Indian food. The restaurant is tucked into a hillside and is tiny, but it has an interesting back room with rich decorations.

The title says it. I've eaten Indian in many places in the U.S. and England, and I swear this is the best Indian I've had anywhere. The staff are so friendly too. The restaurant is small and cozy and the food is unbelievable. They also deliver. My absolute favorite entree here is the mushroom masala.

Standard Indian fare. Sorry, I don't get too excited about Indian - the best place for Indian food is London! This place is cheaper than Gate of India in SM -which is way overpriced in my book (they KNOW they can count on the Brits coming over from King's Head for a post-drink curry!)

I got takeout one evening and they gave me a free glass of wine will I waited! Now that's what I call service!
