First Mina, owner of Annahita Salon, has the absolute most wonderful Persian accent! \r\nShe has provided me incredible facials over the years and at a reasonable price. Additionally, her shop is quiet and there is ample parking. \r\nWe love you, Mina!

For years my best friend has been encouraging me to go to Annahita's for my bikini waxes, but I'm a firm believer that only a few people in the world should know what I look like below the belt. So, I'm a loyalist. I pick an esthetician, and I stick with her come hell or high water. I went to the last place for years, but she burned me, quite literally, and I was forced to relocate. I got a great french bikini wax in NY, and wanted to find someone who matched that level of expertise. I tried Annahita's and visited Mina. I can't believe I've ever been waxed by anyone else. She was kind, funny, and made good conversation (which is important when someone is ripping hair from your most sensitive area). I had my first brazilian and she was calming and gentle. It hurt far less than any wax I've ever had, and was also timely. The true test for me, though, isn't what it looks like immediately after, but how the hair grows back. It's much sparser, no ingrown hairs, still looks new, and that was four weeks ago. For a brazilian that will stand the test of time, for care where other estheticians falter, go to Annahita's. Best Wax I've ever had.

Pros: location (near Ashby BART), politics, humor, and lasting wax

Cons: none yet.

I tried Annahita's because of some good reviews I'd seen. While her place was clean, the services were definitely not reasonably priced:\n\nThe facialist was on the phone when I got there and didn't get off until 5 minutes into my appointment, and while she did my facial, she took two more calls...one personal, and one to schedule another client's appointment. \n\nThe products she used burned my skin...all of them, not just the one that she warned me about (a glycolic peel). To make matters worse, she insulted the skin products I'm currently using as ""cheap"" and then tried to sell me on the products she was using. \n\nShe did the most excruciating thing to my skin with extractions...where I didn't have pimples, now I have big red welts. It was so painful that I was grimacing and convulsing on the table...to which she told me ""don't escape.""

Cons: high pressure sales, painful , talked on phone

Gross personal fact: I've got coarse leg hair. I tried three other waxers in Berkeley who left me with more broken hairs than removed hairs, they were worse than shaving. Annahita hardly left any broken hairs. This is the highest compliment I can give for a waxer.

After researching extensively on the web for a good place to get a bikini wax in the East Bay, I decided to try Annahita for the first time last month. I am happy to say that I definitely was not disappointed! Annahita was extremely professional, very friendly and made me feel extremely comfortable during the waxing process. She not only did a great job, but her prices were EXTREMELY reasonable. Try her, she's great!
