Do not eat here go to the original which is Thanh Long in San Francisco. It is the exact same menu with a higher price and the service doesn't justify the cost. I have been happily eating at Thanh Longs for about 20 years and will continue to do so.
2I expected the roasted crab and garlic noodles to taste the same as Thanh Long... but what I didn't expect was the horrible service and stuck up people at this place. It was just a mistake going to this location when I can just eat at PPQ or Thanh Long and have a more enjoyable dinner. Oh and it's a little more expensive too.

My parents really like this place, but I find it only ok. For instance, the Garlic Crab is really kind of disappointing, as well as the garlic noodles (horrifically overpriced if you ask me).
The Baked Alaska is also a 'merely ok' dessert. Overall, if you want to wait for an "ok" dining experience, this is place to come.

garlic crab is my favorite type of crab to eat here. and you have to try the garlic noodles. this restaurant is a high scale version of thanh long. so if you feel like having a nice dinner with quality food, you should try here.
5I read a bad review, and should have heeded the warning. We got there and the smell was horrible, seating poor, view poor, we got up and walked out. I eat out every night, and this place is bad. The health dept. needs to check it out.

I understand that Crustacean did the upscale Vietnamese seafood thing first, but I don't know if they're still doing it best. With places like PPQ, Ana Mandara, Le Cheval, Slanted Door, The House, and Straits Cafe offering similar dishes

Cons: Pricey, Parking is a Headache, Kind of Noisy
Crustaceans & Thanh Long are highly recommended by myself and so many others! I am a seafood lover and am very picky, but I do have to say I am fortunate to be a Bay Area resident to be able to go eat at either restaurant more than a visitor can. The garlic noodles, crab & prawns I highly recommend! Crab puffs are great too! An experience one will not forget! Crustaceans tonight sounds like a plan! Enjoy! You won't regret it!Dottie Cober

We used to go to the Crustacean in Beverly Hills once every year or so for special occasions -- it was just one of those places we loved, but was too expensive to go on a regular basis. We loved the chilean sea bass (back in the day when it was ok to eat them, before we knew they were "overfished") -- it was made perfectly, and sat on a bed of jasmine rice so you could also get pretty full eating it. Their signature dishes are the Roast Crab (one whole crab roasted with lots of garlic and spices, comes with a bib and bowls, you have to work a little to eat it) and the garlic noodles.
I didn't think it was as good this time around -- they replaced the chilean sea bass with a regular sea bass, and cooked it a bit differently. It also no longer sat on a bed of rice, so I was a bit disappointed there as well. We also ordered the roast crab -- it was good, but after awhile, you start to feel pretty greasy and towards the end, it gets pretty salty because there is nothing else you can eat while you're working on the crab to take away some of the saltiness (like a noodle or rice).
And with that price tag, hmmm -- I still like the place, but not as much as I did before.
