I recently took my cat, Silo, in to the emergency room because he was not urinating often and I thought he could of had a blockage. After running a few tests, the ER doctor said my cat was starting to go into kidney failure and should stay the night and see one of the doctors in the internal medicine department in the morning. I agreed to leave him since they treated and saved my dog's life a year ago from bloat. I was very comfortable with this hospital taking care of my Silo. i am glad I did because they saved him.

We were pretty freaked out when we brought in our puppy for an emergency but when we got here everyone was friendly and explained everything to us in a way that we were set at ease. Thank you.

When you are first time puppy owners, it is nice to know you can pick up the phone and speak to a vet about any concerns you have. That was us, we called Animal Emergency Referral Center b/c are aussie puppy decided to get into the trash. Dr. Fatourechi reassured us of any concerns we had, and let us know she was there all night if we had any other questions. She took our phone number and called us the next day to make sure Lilly was feeling okay. Thank you so much!!

I have a precious cat "Mia", and found her near a trash can by my house. The night she was found, she was infested with fleas, and very lethargic. I took her to this emergency hospital and they were fabulous, gave her a bath, medication to get rid of the fleas she had and gave me a bottle with milk already made, and show me what to do. All of this and only a charge of the ER visit. Amazing staff, caring and compassionate, and they checked on up the following day. Amazing

"They took good care of my puppy, Missy! She's all better now.
The vet explained all the tests they were going to do, what might be wrong with my puppy and what the possible treatments might be. After all the tests were run and she told me the results, she really explained what was wrong, what the medication would do, and what I should be on the lookout for. I am very grateful to her for making my little cutie all better! :)
The staff was very nice and helpful. They answered all my questions and even helped try and make me feel better. They even gave me coffee and cookies while I waited!"

I recently took my dog to the internal medicine service for vomiting - he would spit up all the time, and nothing would control it. I have been to other vets who just send me away and tell me to give an antacid at home and feed chicken - yes chicken! Well, long story short, thanks for Dr. Victoria my dog was diagnosed with a food allergy. It is nice to know someone who took the time to see what is wrong with him.

We tragically lost our dog after it was hit by a car while visiting relatives in the area. The help we received dealing with this horrible event by the staff was just incredible. The vet kept us fully apprised every step of the way, honestly evaluated and fully explained the options and probable outcome, and honored our painful decision to euthanize. Everything was handled with love, kindness and dignity. We have had to use emergency vet hospitals where we live more than once, and they won't even let you in the door without a $500 deposit on your credit card. This center started treating our dog before we even arrived, and the fee was incredibly reasonable for what they did. I would recommend this center to anyone with a pet emergency.

If you have an emergency, this is the place to come to. They saved my cats life after she was hit by a car. Everybody was so nice to us and kept us informed every step of the way. There prices aren't much higher than my own vets too! Remember them if you have an emergency.

I have giant breed dogs, and if you are all familiar with 'the giants' you know how their health can be problematic! We have been going to AEMC for years because my dogs have never figured out how to be sick during regular veterinary hours! There is not a better place to take a sick animal! We have been in at all hours with an epileptic 165 pound dog who is in full grand mal seizures in the middle of the night more times than I can count; a dog who ate a big of avocados WITH the pits, and with all sorts of infections, etc. In EVERY case, the staff has been caring, considerate and most importantly, knowledgeable. They have resources at their disposal which one would see in well-equipped human ER's. Yes. Medical procedures are expensive. But these are HUMAN GRADE

Thank you for taking care of my beloved beautiful brown eyed baby girl! The staff was nice and friendly. I knew she was in good hands because its not every day a pet hospital plays toy story every hour on the hour :) I am not being sarcastic, that movie is awesome! Go Disney!

Incredible facility and staff, I was so scared to leave my precious Wesley, he had never been away from us, but had to stay the night because he decided to get into the trash.
Not only did they make us feel so comfortable, we were able to visit at any time, and the receptionist took us on a tour of the hospital, Would recommend Animal Emergency Referral Center to anyone, they do a wonderful job.

Thank you very much for being open 24 hrs is what I would like to say. My baby "Pongo" was stung by a bee for the first time, and immediately face was swelling, I called Animal Emergency Referral Center and spoke with Valerie who was exceptionally sweet, and gave me directions to the clinic, once there, they rushed him in the back and place me in the room, vet came in and reassured me these things happen and if it were to ever happen again, what I should do. Pongo left later that night, looking back to normal. Thank you!!!

Fantastic Place!!!! Amazing staff caring and courteous. We went in with our dog "Sophie" because she had been vomiting for several, we had limited funds, however the vet did everything possible for us to be able to treat "Sophie". She is now running around and back to normal.

The doctors and the staff there are great. I was sent to them by my veterinarian who thought my 7yr old rottweiler "BoBo" might have tumor in his nose. When I got there I was put in a room and a nurse came right in and said she was going to take BoBo's vitals. A few minutes later doctor Cruse came in and did an exam on BoBo. She said she needed to run some test and take some x-rays. They gave me an estimate which was almost the same price as my veterinarin's.

After about an hour, I was put back in a room to speak doctor Cruse. Doctor Cruse said that BoBo should have a CT done, along with taking some tissue samples and sending them off to the lab to see if BoBo has cancer. I told her BoBo was like my son. So go for it. Later that afternoon doctor Cruse called me to tell me that BoBo is awake and resting. She also said it would be a few days before she had the results back from the lab and that I could pick BoBo up in the morning.

Later that week I got a phone call from doctor Cruse saying that BoBo didn't have cancer. I was so relieved. I think the doctors and staff do a wonderful job at the Animal Emergency Referral Center.

I have seen the other reviews on here and I COMPLETELY DISAGREE!!!
I think this facility is number one and they gives excellent customer service. The other night after coming home from a super bowl party, we had noticed our dog "Shelly" had decided to get into some grapes. We called Animal Emergency Referral Center and was told about the potential toxicity and that we needed to bring Shelly in. Arriving there everyone was amazing very courteous and understanding, with a lobby full of people they took Shelly right in the back to be treated, they offered us coffee and tea, then continuously reassured us about her. Twice I saw the receptionist come up to everyone and check in about there love ones.
We were placed in the exam after only being there 5 min, the doctor came in and reassured about everything, gave us several options and let us make every decision. I am so happy Animal Emergency Referral Center is here, incredible staff and doctors.

I think these other commentators seem to be upset because they did not get the answers they were looking for, but they are wrong with there comments.
Animal emergency referral center is amazing and I would recommend it to everyone, they also checked on Shelly the next day.

My 17 week old english bulldog was taken into Animal emergency referral center on january 22nd 2011. She was bloated badly and after xrays it was known that her stomach was displaced. The doctor immediatly said that they needed to operate. That it was absolutely necessary that she got surgery. We waited to see how her condition was either going to improve or get worse before making any decisions on the surgery. The doctors brought out an estimate for 5500 dollars. Right off the bat I knew that this wasn't right. I deliberated with he doctor and they lowered the price to 2739. they brought this estimate out and again tried to get me to sign it. I refused and she said "well, how much do you have to spend." I was very leery that they kept trying to get me to sign an estimate and how pestering they were about get me to agree with the cost. Eventually we took her home against their orders and she was fine the next day. We took her only to that place because our doctor was not open at the time considering it was late. As soon as our regular doctor opened we took her in and found out that she didnt need any surgery and that there is a way to fix this problem with an easy procedure. our doctor even said that he would have ever considered surgery and that this was a rare occasion. Oh and did I mention that the next day the doctor from animal emergency referral center called TWICE to tell us that we needed to bring her back. I have read similar stories online and there are alot of people that have had this same experience. I have no idea why there hasnt been any more complaints. Unless people honestly dont know any better and actually let these people charge them and then even finance them with a high interest!!! I didnt know this place was a loan place with some vets in the back as a front. This needs serious consideration

I am so impressed with the outstanding level of care and concern they give both the pet and the owner at reasonable prices that I would be willing to volunteer there. I wish they weren't just a referral / emergency service because they would have all my businesses otherwise.

My first of many experiences with the Animal Emergency Referral Center was with a Possum that had been hit by a car. Any creature is worth saving and it was apparent that the Animal Emergency Referral Center thought so as well. After being there for awhile, I asked to see who became to be known as "Awesome Possum". I was amazed to see how clean and well he had been tended to. Dr. Quantz told me she was going to make sure that he went to Possum Rescue. She kindly gave me the phone number to keep track of Awesome...who was eventually sent free. I was so impressed with the fact that the possum was treated like any pet that might be brought in. It is a reverence for life that is important in any medical situation, that you will do whatever it takes to save a life. This is what I have found in all my experiences with the Animal Emergency Referral Center. My 10 year old Newf had bloat and two years later had an infection that also almost took his life. I took him to AERC in the middle of the night and both times they saved his life. He lived almost fifteen years because of the expert, humane and supportive care Bear and I received. There are two more Newfoundlands that had surgery both still alive happy & healthy due to the professional, amazing care of the veterinarians and staff. I trust them wholeheartedly with my animals that are an extremely important part of my life. I could not recommend them any higher than to say that I trust them with my "family".

I have an epileptic dog who must have IV valium to control seizures so I have been in to Animal Emergency Referral Center, many, MANY times. Both my dog and I have been treated with kindness and courtesy no matter what time of the day or night he seizes. Their staff is top notch and caring. I have spent many hours sitting and watching the staff while comforting my dog, and have seen nothing but gentle, considerate and compassionate caring for every animal!

Regarding the cost, ALL medical, whether human or animal can be costly. The procedures and drugs that are used on humans are many times used on animals in order to save their lives. For those of us who think of our pets as family members, the medical bills are just a fact of life. I'll skimp on other things, but take care of my pets! They ARE family.

I would recommend them unconditionally.
