Our son was 3 1/2 when we decided to find a good preschool. It took a lot of legwork and we found My Room to Grow. Our son loves it and can't wait to leave for school in the morning.\r

This is a great preschool. We were looking for a long time and decided to enroll our children here. The preschool is clean, provides meals, teachers are caring and they have a great team. Very helpful and funny. I disagree with the other review. Actually, don't understand why anyone will write such a lie. The building is not new, but you can see that is constantly maintained. The curriculum is engaging and children are happy. The owner is flexible and friendly. We highly recommend it and disregard the other review.

My Room to Grow is a wonderful preschool with caring teachers who show children love and praise. My daughter was enrolled from the time she was 2 until just a few weeks ago when she graduated. She is prepared for kindergarten and loved the environment at My Room to Grow. The director is very flexible with schedules and is always willing to discuss your child's progress. My younger daughter will also attend My Room to Grow when she is ready for preschool.

Pros: Excellent teachers, Warm and Caring Environment

The kitchen worker yells at kids, and has a "disciplinarian" mentality, rather than a "positive guidance mentality." Parents: Listen outside the gate surreptiously, you will hear a lot of yelling. Survey the equipment - low-grade.

I visited a lot of preschools when I was looking for a program for my 2.5 years old daughter. I was so impressed by the tour of this preschool. The Director spend so much time with me, shared her philosophy, answered my questions, and let me observe the classroom activities. The staff was so friendly and inviting. I felt very comfortable and enrolled my daughter the same day. She's been attending My Room to Grow for a year now and I am grateful and happy that I found this great place for her. The school is clean, the activities are well organized, the food is great. She loves.

My son was at My Room To Grow since he was a year and a half. As a full time working mom before he was there I worried about him at the private daycare he had been in. My worries stopped at once. My little stubborn eater would try things with other kids that I couldn't get him to. He made close friendships, showed leadership and wanted to be protector to the littler ones (not like they needed it.) As he started Kindergarten he already had the basics. Schools hope that children can count to 20 at the start of kindergarten he could count to 100. He started already knowing most the stuff taught first quarter or semester depending on the school. Good deal this is a great deal. The staff is always friendly and easy to talk with when you want or feel a need to. If your thinking financially its competitive with the standard rates. the hours for those parents who have to work long and hard this preschool is open 12.5 hours. I'd recommend them to everyone. If your looking around like I did talk with the owner, talk with the teachers. Here they have a schedule like a good teacher does but its a fun experience for your little one. There are some places that go STRICTLY by THEIR schedule which means they change a little ones diaper once every hour needed or not. IE wasting your diaper$ or letting him sit in it getting rash:( PS turn over is not high it never looked like boot camp and I get the feeling the anonymous bad review is competition or a vengeful mom with a bully who was asked not to come back for the safety of the other kids.

My daughter has been attending My Room to Grow preschool for almost a year. She loves it, I love it. They are wonderful teachers. They retain their teachers well, which is something I had issues with at her last preschool. It's such a positive environment. They have allowed my daughter to blossom, they have a wonderful system they use. The only thing really negative I have to say is it's an older building, the layout is a little different. But otherwise - kudos. There is something special every month for the kids. I'm happy I chose them.

We have two children going through My Room to Grow Preschool, and have found it to be a caring, positive environment.

The teachers have always been warm and friendly, and they have taken an interest in our childrens' progress.

The Director is much more flexible about scheduling than other schools in the area, and has always worked with us.

"Graduation" ceremonies that they make for the kids when they go off to kindergarten, Mothers Day parties, and Thanksgiving celebrations are cute. The "field trips" when they bring entertainment to the school for the kids are also pretty good, and the kids seem to enjoy them.

It is worth a tour if you are looking for a preschool in Poway, with very reasonable prices, and meals included

It was disturbing to see that the degree to which children are yelled at and manhandled at this school. The cook, surprisingly, has a lot of control over this school. Her primary philosophy is "Children need discipline." I know that my child "need nurturing," and I expect him to be treated with respect, not like he is boot camp. The school has shoddy equipment. The director's highest priority is making money, not providing care for children. Staff receive no benefits, low wages, and no bonuses. Therefore, I would assume they are frustrated when working there, and children's care ultimately suffers. Turnover is high.

Message from My Room To Grow

Kids of different ages have different needs. We have tailored our programs to meet the development needs of your child, while nurturing their growth.

Classes & Programs: We think of our students in four main groups: "Ready to Learn," "Three Years Old," "Ready for School," and "Fun Club."

"Ready to Learn" are the 18-36 months olds. Our teachers and staff encourage these small, busy people as they investigate their growing world. We especially encourage self-help and language development.

"Three Years Old" have a program that includes literacy, math, science components and appreciation of books. Activities include singing, reading, creative art, and ample time for social interaction.

"Ready for school" are the 4-6 year olds, who have a program designed to prepare them for kindergarten. We encourage pre-reading, pre-math, pre-science skills and concepts.
