Crusty Tart Bakery

Looks like many people had a similar experience....I was recommended this bakery for my wedding cake. I wanted to do business locally and had tried a couple items from this place before. HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE. I walked in and the lady working there rolled her eyes at me and my friend upon entrance. I told her I was interested in wedding cake prices and showed her a picture of what I was looking for. She seemed so irritated I was even in her store and dragged her feet to grab me a price sheet. When I showed her the picture she looked at it and said "yea, its chocolate", in such a rude tone. I explained I wanted it to be red and she shook her head saying, "no,no,no." My friend told her it was just gunage mixed with red food coloring and she said correct but she would not do it! I cant believe someone could be this rude, I was not asking for anything extravagant and after going to 6 more bakeries that day( everyone could do what I wanted!) She had no reason to act that way. Classic case of do not judge a book by its cover. I may have colored hair and tattoos but I was about to drop $1,000 at your business! :) I am so happy that this horrible experience led me to Patti Cakes, a great bakery! Delicious and amazing customer service.

Great tasting sweets. Quality of treats are very well but the owner is a wicked lady. How she still has business I am not sure. No cards no checks. Who carries cash. Do not go here. I highly recommend going to Some Crust Bakery in Claremont. Great service. Workers are very happy. Very helpful, they do everything for you. Great tasting treats for the entire family. I higly recommend going there.

I love the items at this bakery, and we drive at least 20mil. just to go, but the woman who owns/bakes is a very nasty woman. She looks down on her customers. It's sad because you should always be nice to people who are paying you for your service. But she is a B****

HORRIBLE SERVICE!!! I would never think of walking in there again. I just wanted to order a cake for my baby shower and It was a horrible experience. I hope she reads her reviews and realizes she needs to retire or therapy lessons.

I have been going to the crusty tart Bakery for quite some time, and have never experienced bad service. I arrive early in the mornings just to get the most beautiful selections, and if i had an opportunity to learn how to decorate cookies, this is the place i would go to without hesitation. I will be in line waiting to get my share of goodies. Linda Malnati.

I never submit reviews - but I felt the need to for this one. I think they have beautiful, creative, elegant and great tasting items. But I will not give that horrible, rude, "crusty" owner my business - her attitude clearly demostrates she doesn't need it.

I'm actually glad I read these reviews because my fiance and I have been "shopping around" for wedding cakes, and I was going to go in to Crusty Tart Bakery. I don't think I will at this point. Great tasting items will NEVER out weigh customer service! Thanks for the heads up!

I have to agree with J.D. Although their products are very good and tasty and their prices are reasonable. (Have had their breads, cookies, tarts, etc and they are very good.) HOWEVER, the owner is a total personality donor! She is unbelievably rude, condescending, and socially illiterate! She has absolutely NO interest in customer service. I have left insulted on several occasions. I have been waited on by a gentleman a few times (her husband perhaps?) who was nice, but SHE is a dragon! She has a framed photo on the wall of her serving her wares to Martha Stewart. I have always heard about what a MONSTER Martha can be, but even she could take lessons from this woman!That being said, I still go in from time to time to pick up a quick treat. I could not fathom trying to work with her on something as important as a wedding cake. If you love baked goods and have a thick skin, going in with no expectation of any sort of service or personality, you can get a decent treat. But if you are easily offended or customer service is important to you, try the DMV first!

Hands down one of the best bakeries in the S. California area (and I've been from Portos to ZOV's). The cakes, pies, and tarts are straight out of middle america fantasies; no pans, just tall crusts. Like the ones stolen from your Grandma's window. I've been going there many, many years, and I've heard hundreds (if not thousands) of kudos for the various items brought home from this bakery.

After speaking with the owner today about my upcoming wedding and ideas for our cake, I understand why the store is named "The Crusty Tart". She was extremely rude and disinterested in helping us or keeping our business. My mother had recommended this bakery highly, and I am sure that they will not miss our patronage, but I refuse to deal with a vendor who acts like she is doing us a favor. "Crusty" is too nice a word for this seriously customer service lacking establishment! Run, don't walk, away from the "Tart"!

If you?re in the market for some perfect, tasty, gourmet baked goods for all sorts of special occasions, Crusty Tart Bakery is an ideal destination. My family always orders our Christmas cakes and cookies from this bakery because of their presentation and their always delicious products. They have yet to disappoint us!

PROS: Gorgeous presentation, delicious cookies, timely
CONS:

I've ordered cakes, bread in the shape of reindeer and Easter eggs, and iced Santa-face cookies from this bakery, and everything has turned out beautiful and wonderful tasting. Their desserts and breads are a real treat for dinner parties and holidays. Only drawback: you have to order early; there's a line out the door on Xmas Eve.
