Mom's Bar Be Cue House

SO GOOD!! atmosphere is lovely, and the food is spectacular! this is my weekly hotspot!

The order took about 20 minutes to come out and when I got it home it was wrong. I paid $14 for chicken and ribs and fries and beans and I got chicken, fries and mac'n'cheese.

I drove back there the half mile and they replaced my order. But when I finally sat down to eat it back at home (Moms BBQ was full of to-go order people sitting in all the chairs and tables so you couldn't eat in), frankly, it wasn't very good.

The 3 large ribs were fatty and chewy with lots of inedible parts and the chicken was dry and tasteless (aside from the soaking of BBQ sauce which was goopy and thin and sweet, like it was squirted out of a Sysco bottle). The fries were run of the mill, fine, as were the baked beans, but the lemonade was WAY sweet, like liquid concentrate.

Maybe I just had a chance bad experience there, but I can't say I recommend the place. I think Mom lost the secret recipe.

Wonderful food, but it's a dive and the neighborhood.... well, let's just say "To Go!"

They probably know me just by my phone order by now. The mac and cheese is the best in the city. The fried chicken is always good and so are the sweet potatoes. I'm getting hungry just thinking about it. Now I must admit, I've heard that the bbq ribs can be dry sometimes, but when i've tried them, it's been great. Get the menu and call first first, they take forever to serve the food. But they're always polite and the food is great!

This hole in the wall soul food place is not to be missed. I know people who drive in from all over the city to get some of the delicious stuff...personally, I could live in a bed of their cornbread and be happy forever...their brisket sandwich is amazing. Excellent soul food.

I went to Mom Bar Be Cue House about two weeks ago.
Yes the food is very good, The service was great also.
Price is fine because you get your money worth. Nice atmosphere.

Both the Ribs and Bar Be Cue Chicken are to die for. The also make the best Sweet potato pie. Even the black eyed peas and yummy at this joint. Best to try them out at Lunch. They have really good specials

the food is really good here, i have been to the other bar-b-que places in the valley and Moms is way better, the only drawback is the location, parking and the guys in front taking the orders are usually very unfriendly, they dont smile and basically just do their job, they dont go that extra mile to say hello or how are you doing? but thats ok, the kitchen staff is friendly and makes up for the front help.

but nevertheless, the foods awesome and the prices are reasonable

It's a small hole in the wall spot located in a mini mall. When you walk in you'll see a straightforward menu to the right and a "wall of fame" on your left. There are always people in there and you'll probably have to wait awhile, but it's worth it. The ribs, pork and beef, are excellent. The fried chicken is out of this world...it's so crispy, flavorful, and juicy. In terms of side dishes, the macaroni and cheese is incredible. I don't know what mom puts in it, but it is amazing. Her greens and black eyed peas are incredible too! For dessert, I would suggest that you try the mini pies she makes (I love the lemon) or the freshly baked cakes. As one of the celebrities wrote on their picture, "girl you can cook!"

Not much of a looker but it is one of the best BBQ joints in the SF Valley. You won't regret it if you're a BBQ lover!

I had the beef and pork ribs combo. It was about $11. Got two huge pieces of beef ribs and three or four pieces of pork ribs. Both were great. Unlike some places, Mom's gives you the whole rib, they do not cut off the tip. The beef rib was very flavorful and meaty. The BBQ sauce is very good. Not overpowering like other places. Amount of food and the quality of the food makes this place a great value

The only bad thing was the slow service the day I went. Some lady who was ordering over the phone was asking a million questions. There were three people in line in front of me and the lady taking the order just kept talking on the phone.

Otherwise this is a great place. Parking can be a little tight.
