We found the service to be non-existent for Bayou Bob's. We sat outside for a few minutes, then I went in to find a server. The bartender asked where we were sitting and said she'd be right out. We sat for 30 minutes with no service.

The food here was excellent! Very flavorful and great variety. I ate gator for the first time. \r
\r
The staff was very friendly also. \r
\r
However, if you want something fancy, its not. Its more like a dive bar with great food.

Okay! I started with the Abita Amber beer. One of my favorites from back home (Baton Rouge) and it was even on special, I think it was $2.50. It is apparently on special everyday. I had Fried Pickles and Hush Puppies. They were also on

Now sometimes you just have to cry about great food because it was that good. Bayou Bob's is that kind of place.\r
If you like deep south Louisiana cooking with the spicy great flavors, you have to try this place.\r

I was recommended by others to give this place a try, since I like cajun seafood. I dragged my boyfriend with me. I had high hope for this place, I thought it would be a good place for a date. It totally wasn't. The good was alright. My boyfriend love the jambalaya, but i didn't like it that much. I ordered a po boy sandwich, it was alright.

the place was packed due to a show happening next door and everyone trying to get a bite to eat first. our server was great... the table of twelve rude middle aged racist women were not! we sat and listened to this group of women cut down the food, the waiter, the culture of louisiana, and the entire south, and then complain that the waiter was taking too long after they wanted twelve separate checks... get a clue ladies... you can't get a group of twelve in and out in 45 min when the place is packed and you want separate checks. the kicker was when the manager whom, i over heard, name is meagan, pocketed the servers tips when the women decided to tip her instead of him even though it states on the menu that a gratuity of 15% will be added to your bill for large groups. we were in shock! food was pretty darn good... but make sure you hand your server the tip! who knew that was acceptable behavior on everyone's part. shame on you women! shame on you megan! you're what is wrong with society.

Pros: loved the fried pickles

Cons: manager taking servers tips

Great po-boys, gumbo, etouffee, & other creole and Cajun dishes and drinks. The shrimp po-boy is so tasty and the drinks are yummy too. Stop in and feel New Orleans all over again!

This place has really good food. If the Lousianna natives say its good, then ITS GOOD! My boyfriend has been looking for a good "cajun" place to go and we fell in love when we found this place. I had the Jambolaya and it was really good, very flavorful. My boyfriend had the crayfish - which are on special late in the season so look out for that - and he was happier than a kid at christmas. They served it to him on a cafeteria tray because the crayfish were overflowing his plate! They had a really good flavor and were nice and juicy. Our server was nice and it wasn't crowded at all. Everything on the menu looked so good that we had a hard time deciding what we wanted to eat. I can't wait to go back and try something different. If you're looking for good New Orleans food, this place comes highly recommended.

This place is great! I was born and raised in southern Louisiana and can vouche for the fact that this food is the real deal. My boyfriend and I moved here from New Orleans after Katrina. Our first Bayou Bob's experience was for the one year anniversary of Katrina hitting NOLA... not exactly a reason to celebrate! But we left in a great mood after drinking Abita beer (the only restaurant I've seen that has it) and stuffing ourselves on seafood platters and the best pecan pie a la mode I have ever had (don't tell my grandmother!) I've since taken my family there when visiting and have added the chicken fried steak and hush puppies as my favorite menu items. The food is great and reminds me of many places in Louisiana, from New Orleans, to Lafayette, and way down to Bayou Lafourche. The people that work there are really nice and for Mardi Gras, they had a pseudo parade in the middle of the restaurant. You can't beat that! Who would have thought I'd have found a place like this in downtown Denver?

Pros: Seafood platters, pecan pie, Abita beer, friendly service

Cons: Boiled crawfish is expensive, but that's to be expected

.

I came here for lunch on a weekday, and I must say, the service is slow. Don't expect to be in and out and back to your desk within an hour. We even got there early, before the lunch crowd came. The crawfish etouffee was okay, but not nearly as good as at Gumbo's or Pappadeaux. They have good choices in sides however, and for a pretty cheap price you can upgrade your side dish to gumbo or jambalya. The jambalaya was very tasty.

My wife and I just moved to the Denver area and we usually eat a lot of crawfish this time of year. Multiple coworkers suggested this restaurant.

You have to order crawfish in set of 2 lbs (no big deal) but this costs $17! We've eaten a lot of crawfish and this is the most we've ever paid anywhere. Seeing our suprise, the waitress immediately went into a diatribe about how they are not making any money selling them at this price - whatever.

The worst part was that the crawfish were awful. They were chewy and gamey - obviously cooked too long. The rub they used was appropriately spicy, but had way too much garlic. Half of our servings were just claws and tail-less bodies.

Needless to say, we will not be going back. It's sad that the only decent option in town for crawfish is Pappadeaux.

Pros: At least they tried

Cons: Half way is not enough

Me and my wife went downtown to Bayou Bob's for an evening and had probably one of the best meals I have ever had downtown. Our server walked us through cajun food and set us up with two dinners we could share and try almost everything. I was thoroughly impressed with everthing on the table and would probably be at a lost as to what to order next time. Awesome relaxed atmosphere, cool Louisiana artifacts on the wall, and great Hurricanes.

A girl from Houma Louisiana reporting in to let you all know that I have recently been relocated to Denver. I thought I was going to have to abandon all hopes of good southern cookin in Denver. I found the Citysearch website and read the reveiws on Bayou Bob's. I decided to give it a go even if a couple of reveiws were unflattering. First it is VERY authentic and the atmosphere made me feel right at home. Best happy hour and my favorite is that it is still run by the family that owns it. You must check it out!!!

They might not be thinking that the service they provide is 'just a job' but sure that is how it is portrayed to the customer. If you call and don't get an answer, try a couple more times, they will pick up the phone. I ordered takeout. May have gotten there a few minutes early for pickup and ready to pay. I was sent back and forth like a ping pong ball between the hostess to the bar to pay for the takeout. Hostess gave me the food but I had not paid yet. Nothing might stop you from walking out with the food without paying. $15 for the shrimp dinner, bring it back to the office to find out there is no ketchup for fries, no tarter sauce, and no coctail sauce. The service all around is very poor for a simple takeout. They keep me coming back for that seafood craving, but the service keeps me away except for 1 or 2 times per year.

I AM IN DENVER 3-4 TIMES A YEAR. APPROX 6 WKS AT A TIME. I HAVE BEEN SENT TO SO MANY PLACES TO DINE. I STUMBLED UPON BAYOU BOBS AND THOUGHT WHY NOT. IT IS NOT THE FANCY HIGH END DINING. IT IS THE LOCAL, CASUAL, WITH THE BEST FOOD I HAD MY ENTIRE VISIT. MY LAST 2 WEEKS REMAINING 10 OF MY 14 MEALS WAS AT BAYOU BOBS. IT IS EXCELLANT.

I have been to Bayou Bob's for lunch many times and have always had a good meal, although the service can be slow. My favorite dishes are the seafood pasta and the catfish po-boy. Many from my office like the petite combeaux plate. The atmosphere is nothing special, but it's fine, and I always look forward to going back.

The shrimp was heavily breaded and very "floury". The booths were like that of a cheap diner. Overall, I wouldn't recomend this restraunt for taste or authenticity. I will not return

These guys have the BEST shrimp Poboy sandwich and the best fried pickles I've found since leaving Alabama. The hurricanes aren't bad either. If you like cajun, come see these guys.

where to begin? waiter took 30 minutes to take our food order, and 45 minutes to deliver it. refills on drinks? we wished.

the food delivered was mediocre at best. one of the ladies ordered meatloaf "medium" was delivered RAW! he said they would take 1/2 of the meal off the bill. when i asked him to take the full amount, i was told a manager would have to talk with me.

The manager argues that she "ate half of it" and didn't accept the replacement meal, so only 1/2 would be comped. after discussion the full amount was comped. at this point we all just want to leave and never come back. our inept waiter comes back, looks me right in the eye and snidely asks, "are you alright now?" my blood pressure must have tripled.

my advice: unless you have all day and low expectations, go elsewhere.

Bayou Bob's is just like any dive-joint you would eat at on Burbon street- with one exception, here in CO, the dive is for atmosphere.... the food is good Big Easy flare- cheap price- good portion- and nicely topped off with a Barq's or a beer.... The Cajun popcorn- is excellent as is the etouffe (sp).... yummmmm! With the closing of the DTC location, the BBob's downtown is the best selection for the price and the authentic fare.... just eating dinner makes my tastebuds yearn for another trip to the Cresent City.....
