I take my dogs to Karen's and have never been disappointed. They are happy to go into the shoppe and I know they are treated well. They never seem stressed and come home looking great. I would and have recommended Karen to everyone I know. She does a great job and my pups are happy!

Karen is the best. The combination of her love and knowledge of animals, and the great job she does rates 5 stars. We love her , our dogs love her. They do the happy dance and jump 4 feet in the air every time they see her. Highly recommended.

I had God awful experiences with other groomers before I brought my dog to Wags to Whiskers. You know they are doing something right when your dog runs in the place wagging his tail. And they smell wonderful for the longest time. As for the person with the complaint about not doing the nail clipping, do you think they should have done a nail clipping while your dog was hyper and risk hurting him? What then a lawsuit? I trust their judgment if they tell me they can't do something (which they never did) I know they'd have a damn good reason for it.

After some horrendous experiences at other groomers, we finally found Karen at Wags to Whiskers. She did a fantastic job on our Standard Poodle. She was willing to work with us to find a clip we really liked (not too froo-froo, but still pretty.) She was great with a dog that had been abused at another groomers- a big Pet chain- and went out of her way to make it a positive experience for our dog. A+.

PROS: Great clips, good service, well priced
CONS: None

When I dropped off my Bordercollie he was a mess, from swimming in the pond all summer and running through the forest his fur was very knotty. When I picked him up they did a very good job washing and brushing him, but didn't to clip his nails because "he was too playful". They did a good job, but I felt cheated when I clipped his nails later on. How come a Pet grooming store doesn't know how to handle a dog? 4 STars if it wasn't for the nail thing.

Message from Wags To Whiskers

The goal of Wags to Whiskers is to provide every pet a pleasurable grooming experience. We try to provide an environment which is as stress free as possible, even allowing the animals to be crate-free if necessary. We call each pet by name and allow owners to stay with their pets if they feel this is necessary.

Karen Marciano's chosen profession of grooming is a hair-raising experience. Few people get the benefit of thoroughly enjoying their jobs as much as Karen does. With her gentle voice and expert hands, she takes the mess and frustration out of keeping her furry clients clean. She provides a minimum stress environment where pets and owners alike feel welcome and comfortable. Karen has worked for over twenty years with Veterinarian Richard O'Grady, grooming animals that need to be sedated under medical supervision. She opened Wags to Whiskers in 1999 while continuing to work for Dr. O'Grady on Mondays. According to Karen, "Anyone can be a groomer. To be in this business you have to like animals. But I like to think I go a little further, because I work, not only with animals that have had it a little tougher than others but also the ones that might need a little extra attention, like senior citizen pets with special health needs." Karen's dedication to animal welfare has caused her to take some of the extreme cases under her wing. She has seven dogs;Gabby, a pitbull/grey hound mix;Harriet, a southern Russian Otava;Mugsy, a pug;Gidget, a Portuguese herding dog;Sheila, a shepherd cross;Trouble, a Golden Retriever cross; and Mabel, a Standard Poodle. Her three cats are Richard, Grump, and Mister. Karen says, "Some of them were in horrific shape. They needed homes. They needed me. How could I not take the in?" The walls at Wags to Whiskers are filled with pictures of pets sent in to Karen by their appreciative owners, a tribute to Karen's grooming expertise and concern for her furry clients.
