We make the drive up from Cedar rapids 3 or 4 times during the racing season. Love the live dog racing and more times than not we do pretty well (small amounts). As a group, you can have a great time out with out going too deep into the pocket at the greyhounds.
The casino however seems to be quite a different story. From my experience, only take what you want... that's correct I said want.... to lose into the casino. They keep em pretty tight.
Overall the place is clean and nice and it's a great place to have a good time, just don't expect to come rich.

I always enjoy stopping at the Dubuque Greyhound Park to try my luck at the slot machines. Keeping with my usual lack of success, it doesn't take long to contribute the set amount that I have predetermined. In one instance, a group of people did participate in the dinner and dog racing. The dinner was fine. The gambling was not successful. Overall, this gambling establishment is clean and relatively pleasant.

This is the best brunch you will find in Dubuque. They have omelets made to order as you watch; fresh waffles with all the fixings; a huge buffet with breakfast and lunch items too numberous to mention; plus ice cream and deserts! We go once a month during the dog racing season. We love to eat and watch the dogs race at the same time. We kill an entire afternoon eating and betting, oops, I mean watching. Many times we all pick a dog to win and keep track for 'bragging rights'--no betting at all. It's great food and good entertainment.

Coming here makes it a nice out and gives you something to do other than going to a bar. Has slots, greyhound racing, a restaurant, and banquet halls. We've been to weddings and private parties here and the halls are nice and roomy. Definitely a place a check out at least once.
