This is the best deep dish pizza I have had in Chicago. At just about any given time seating takes at least 45 minutes. We had the large deep dish sausage and pepperoni pizza, which gave the four of us two large pieces each.
We placed the order while we waited for the table and the pizza was delivered to our table piping hot and fresh. Service was excellent but the "Uno" is small, so don't mind rubbing elbows with the table next to you.
Definately a stop for the tourist to Chicago.

Pros: Deep Dish Pizza, Service

Cons: , Long Wait for a Table

15 year customer and always have great pizza. Place is small, but it's an old Historic Chicago building; they were small back then. You may wait over an hour during peak times; but you know the place is good because people wait to get in. Plus while you wait they take your order. So when you sit down, your food is ready.

I am from Southern California, and went to Chicago for the first time a few years ago. A
co-worker (a Chicago native) told me I just HAD to go to Pizzeria Uno.
It is THE BEST pizza I have ever had. I could not believe how flaky the crust was and how fresh the ingredients were!
They just do not know how to make pizzas in Callifornia! A Pizzeria Uno was opened here several years back, but it could not duplicate the original from Chicago, and closed rather quickly.
I cannot wait to get back to Chicago and Pizzeria Uno!

Terribly long wait, very, very cramped seating, and pizza that couldn't stand up to Little Ceasar's. I've been eating pizza in Chicago for 26 years and found that this restaurant, along with Pizzeria Due, get by on name recognition only. Those that enjoy the food are tourists that are misguided into thinking that is what Chicago style pizza should be. It will be a true disappointment, especially after waiting over an hour for a table. Go to any of the others on the list for a far better dining experience.

My husband and I were stuffed from eating at the Cheesecake Facotry earlier in the day, but could not leave Chicago without sharing a Uno pizza. From the cheese to the crust this is by far the BEST pizza either of us has ever had! This trip was a 2nd for us and there will be a 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th, etc. Keep in mind it is a popular place (waiting list pretty much all day) and it takes about 45 minutes for the pizza to bake.

I am Italian and have been going to Uno's for over 30 years. I have moved from Chicago and now live in Los Angeles. Every trip I make to Chicago must include a stop at Uno's. We even have it shipped frozen from Chicago to Los Angeles. There is no other pizza that can match the thick crust. There is no other taste like it. Back in the 60's we would wait over 2 hours in line just for a bite of this wonderful pizza. This is definitly one of the best Pizza's in the country.

Taste, texture and volume are the operative words to describe Uno's Chicago Pizza. Many have tried, but none have been able to duplicate. It seems that other Uno's outside Chicago have failed to replicate the true taste.

I dined at Uno's on a thursday night, not there busiest by the way, the waitress took forever to come to the table, and she placed the wrong order and had the nerve to argue with us over it and said what we odered wasn't on the menu (it was by the way). The manager apologized and said the other pizza would be out in 10 minutes, 40 minutes went by and no pizza but we did get to hear the waitress bitch about how this wasn't her fault at all and it was every one elses. We didn't have time to eat it we had been there now for an hour and a half and , we had to take it to I have never had service this bad before!!

I've been going to Unos and it's sister pizzeria, Duos since 1953 and they have withstood the test of time. I'm referring to the downtown locations only as this impressive pizzaria has spawned numerous other locations throughtout the state. If you crave sasuage pizza, deep dish style with a layer of sausage covering the entire top, the finest cheese, and a superb tomatoe style sauce, you've come to the best in town. Lou Malantis's good but it is a copy-cat runner-up!!!!

For the original in Chicago Pizza, one must take in all that Pizzera Uno has to offer. It should be on anyones list when visiting Chicago, and if you are fortunate to live in the Windy City, you'll never have to substitute for the real thing, not what's served in the Uno's Restaurant Chain.

A "Deep Dish Delight", Uno's two step cooking process creates a tasty pie. This is definitely a pie, not dough with toppings spread on it, though that is also a great way to go. Uno's "parbake" is thick, flavorful, and not too crisp. The fillings are great and plentifull.

Numero Uno, is my vote. This place serves steamy hot deliciousness, regardless of the time of year or time you wait. The nationwide chain gives this restaurant no justice, its just not the same as the original. Have a beer and sit back and wait for a glorious pie to come your way. Your jealousy will heighten as others' pies pass you by, but have another beer and snack on the bread and dipping marinara. I have yet to have one complaint from anyone who I have taken here, only praise for the best pizza they have ever laid their lips on. My firends don't even bring up the word "pizza" when I visit them out of town. Come in and enjoy the best Chicago and the world has to offer.

Wow, what a phenomenal pizza! At Uno or Due (same company and just a block away--Uno gets packed quick, so Due is a great place to go if Uno is overloaded), you can be guaranteed a fresh thick pizza made from very fresh ingredients that has an absolutely perfect crust, not at all soggy. They take your order as you walk in so they can start making your pizza while you wait to be seated (we only have to wait a few minutes at peak lunch hour at Due; Uno's wait is sometimes a lot longer). I also like the Uno Colada, a nonalcoholic drink they serve--it's great for beating the heat.

We earned free travel miles to travel to any city in the country (We live in LA). We decided to go on a tour of Chicago's best known restaurants. We had lunch at Pizzria Uno and were blown away by the quality, taste and freshness of their pizza. Granted LA is not know for pizza and we now know why. This was great stuff and we enjoyed it immensely. Unfortunately, this was the only pizza place we had time to sample - but we do not regret selecting P.U. We would suggest visitors to this great city definitely give this pie a try!
