Flood damaged truck. Took over 5 weeks, several "replaced and repaired items" were never touched, they just billed me for them. They returned the truck to me twice. I would tear the truck apart to find they still were not performing the work required by the insurance company. They did however use lots of excuses and actually make the illusion of proper maintenance, (such as applying dielectric grease on the outside of electrical connectors so it looked like they took off the plugs and the properly serviced them). They were suppose to flush all fluids. The plugs to the reservoirs were rusted on and dry showing no fluids or tools ever touched them. When they finally changed the oil they drained out the synthetic and put in regular oil. There was a loud "bad bearing" sound coming from the front pass tire. They said it was a normal noise and could not the bearings since they just repacked them. It was discovered the front end has sealed bearings that cannot be repacked and it actually was a bad bearing. This was after I was told I did not know what my truck normally sounds like. My new headlights were forced into position causing the inboard edges of both lenses to crack and separate. The starter was to be inspected and lubed, it was so rusted you could not see a defined shape of the nuts on it any more. The engine bay and radiator that was "cleaned" was full of grass and engine fluids. Yet they demanded full price for all work performed and refused to compensate any of the costs for the pain and extra work they caused. They were well aware that I was an aircraft mechanic and inspecting their work and yet would not properly do what they were being paid to do. Instead they simply would skip it or make it look like they performed it, even after have the vehicle returned to them twice. Finally my ins company had me take the vehicle to auto masters to be completed properly. Don't let dirty businesses like this continue to operate. I am pursuing this in a court of law in hopes NOBODY is treated like this again.
