The screens are small. It felt as if we were in a closet rather than an actual theater. T put in perspective I think there was a total of 10 to 15 seats the width of the theatre we were in.

The sound system needs a update in a bad way, the screen we watched did not even have surround sound, only one speaker behind the screen.

The attendant that started the movie obviously didn't care about anyones enjoyment, the bottom of the film was out of focus, the edges of the film looked as if the lens was caked with crud, the whole film was slightly at an angle and distracted from the whole movie experience.

The concession stand appearance didn't look as if it had changed since the mid 80's. The attendants were in plain clothes and acted like they were just hanging out rather than running a business. The prices were about the same as any other theater though

In my opinion, the owner should really consider updating the whole theater and it's customer service

Atmosphere: This little cinema is a snapshot of the theaters I remember from my childhood-- worn carpets, a small selection of arcade games, the din of leftover cigarette smoke hanging in the wood paneling. It's quaint and clean enough, but don't expect to see a sparkling new theater.

Service: Amazing! The people in this area are extremely friendly. Sometimes there's not even anyone there to check your tickets because it's small enough for them to see from the refreshment counter whether you stopped at the ticket booth.

Rates: Compared to big city prices, they're extremely reasonable, both for tickets and for refreshments.

Movie Quality: Sometimes they're fine, but sometimes you can see tiny film lines or hear grainy feedback from the speakers. If you really want to see something, though, it beats driving for a couple of hours to a bigger city to see a movie.

Selection: Only several movies play at the same time because it's a little theater, so be sure to plan your trip rather than just show up expecting something to be playing. Refreshment selection is fairly extensive considering their small space.

Parking: There's always plenty, but be careful not to miss the turn-off from the freeway. It's a long drive that circles around the whole entertainment lot, so it's easy to overshoot and not so easy to turn around to come back to.

Restrooms: There are only a couple of stalls, so if you wait until after the show, you'll have to wait in line.

Fugates Cinema is a little out of the way. The entrance/exit is very dangerous getting in and out of. The admission prices are average, try to catch the early show for cheaper prices. In my opinion the refreshments are over priced. They do get the new movies when they first come out. When the adjacent water park is open they don't have much parking but It is still about the best place to go for entertainment in Hazard.

Fugates Cinema, in the Fugates Entertainment Center, is the best spot in Hazard to catch a flick. The prices are unbeatable, the snacks are afforadable and delicious, the theaters are clean, and the staff is friendly and helpful. I strongly recommend that you visit Fugates Cinema and all the other Fugates attractions.
