I've been coming here for a very long time also and I've never had a bad experience. I am thankful they keep their prices low enough to allow me to continue to care for my dog .. It's too bad human clinics do not follow the same practice. It's surprising people are more accepting when medical mistakes happen in a human clinic but go out of their way to bash veterinarians when they aren't able to work miracles.

I've been coming here for about 3 years and couldn't be happier with the quality of service and prices. Being a walk-in veterinary clinic, a short wait is expected, but the convenience far outweighs the wait with my not-so-convenient work schedule.

I have been taking my cats to Ft Wright Pet Care for over 15 years now. I have never had a problem with any of the vets or staff. The thing that seems to turn most people off (the no appoinment, first come, first serve setup) is what I realy like about this vet's office. My cats don't get sick on an appointment basis and I like the fact they will see you that day, you may have to wait but you will be seen. Also, the extended hours are a plus for this working gal! When I had to have my 16 yr old kitty put to rest, the vet cried with me, let me take my time saying goodbye, and allowed me to stay in the back for as long as I wanted to compose myself.

The give: not the nicest desk or phone staff in the world; not the kindest or brightest vet techs in the world either. you may never get a person on the phone who can answer your questions-I think they dump you on hold in hopes you will hang up. Actually had a tech "lie" about my dog's vital signs on the chart (believe me-you cant stick a thermometer up a dog's butt without someone in the room knowing). The takes: the one vet that I try to singularly use is REMARKABLE! He is honest-he is kind-he cares about the animals and more importantly he knows the owners know their pets best. He listens; which is rare to find in an assembly-line first come first serve clinic. If you can handle the rude and crappy office staff then the vets are worth it; and to me-this one vet is worth it-but then I also have a medical background and know how to stay on top of the non-veterinary staff. If you expect a call back from a non-veterinary staff-don't hold your breath. If a vet says he/she will call you-they will do it-THE VETS WILL. You have to be willing to chip through the oyster shell and swim through the salt water to find the pearl; but the pearls are in there. Get out your own scales and weigh what is important to you: money and the end result through the vet? Or sunshine and rainbows greeting you in the face. You decide-but me; I will put up with the Oscars and grouches to keep my vet.

I brought my dog in to be neutered. When I picked him up I told the technician my name. He went in the back to locate my dog. He came back a few minutes later and asked me again what my dog's name was...I told him again and he said he did not see my dog and asked if I could come back with him and "pick out" my dog!!! I walked past all the kennels and found my dog in an unmarked kennel, no name, no chart. Unbelievable. Also, he was a cryptorchid (they were undescended) and the vet could only find and remove one, the other he said he could not locate...

I brought my elderly dog in for a small rash on her stomach. They gave her a steriod shot and a cream. After a few days, she developed open sores all over her body. I took her to a different vet who did a scraping and said it was mange. When I asked how my dog could have gotten mange, I was informed that elderly dogs CANNOT be given steriod shots or they can easily develop mange. How could a vet not know better!! It was HORRIBLE to watch my elderly dog suffer because of their mistake.

Dr. Mike saved my dog's life. My little molly is a toy fox terrier, she got run over by a car in front of our home.I took her to the emergency vet office, they x rayed her and said her pelvic bone was broke and both of her legs were detached from it in the back, it was very bad and doesn't look hopeful. She remained there all night not moving and iv's for pain.I picked her up the next morning and took her to my vet a Ft. Wright pet care, they had me see Dr. Mike the surgeon. He told us that he would do surgery the next day and take care of it.He did the surgery attaching her 2 back legs back to her pelvic bone, and the bone healed on its own.He stiched her in wire stitches and we brought her home that evening and had to bring her back the next day because no one stayed all night there.Thank God for Dr. Mike today Molly runs and plays and chases sticks, balls, and anything else she wants. You can't ever tell she was injured. Thank you so much Ft Wright pet care, and Dr. Mike is the greatest ever!

Honestly people if you don't want to wait, go to a clinic where you need an appointment. This is one of the ways they keep their costs down so you can afford treatment. Much like a free clinic for humans. I worked at another clinic with one of Ft Wright's doctors. She was such a caring doctor that she helped pay for parvo treatment on a dog that was surrendered to the clinic (and if you've had a dog with parvo you know how expensive this is). A tech that works there paid for what the doctor didn't. When the dog was recovered she gave her to me at no charge just because she knew the dog would be given a good home. She is one of the sweetest dogs I've ever met and everyday i am thankful that Dr. Gleason and the tech (laura i believe?) took a chance on saving this dog. I have yet to find something i don't like about her and i've had her now about 18 months.

We had our worries when deciding to take our cat here but we were overall incredibly pleased and they saved our kitten's life! We got Benny from the animal shelter and within a week, he had a respiratory infection. We took him to one vet and they gave him a shot and said if he wasn't better over the weekend to call. Benny's health continued to decline over the weekend. He stopped eating, drinking and he couldn't breathe. I called the vet on Monday but they couldn't see him! I tried another vet who couldn't fit him in either and we decided to try the Ft. Wright Pet Care. We took him in and did have to wait for a little while but the staff was really helpful and nice to us. The vet there gave him some more steroid shots to help fight the infection, water infusions (?) to help with dehydration, etc. The vet said if he wasn't better by the next day that he would have to come back and be admitted to the hospital. Unfortunately, this visit to the vet didn't help either and we had to bring Benny back in to be admitted to the hospital. The wait was much longer this time (about 3 hours!) but they got him admitted and the vet told me she was going to give him the works to save his life. Both times, they gave me very accurate estimates of what was going to be done. Benny is 100% better now! It's hard waiting for a long time in that room with lots of other animals (some who are incredibly loud!) and it is chaotic and not state-of-the-art but if it weren't for them, I don't think we could've afforded all the treatment Benny needed so I'm really appreciative of them!

The good thing about Ft. Wright is that it is very inexpensive. They will also work with you on cost. Unfortunately to keep the cost down, there seems to be only one vet working at a time.

Also, the staff never seems to know what anyone is doing. No one ever seems answer the phone promptly or if they do it is after twenty minutes of hold and half the time they put you on hold again. You cannot get infomation by phone.

Every trip will be minimum of two hours if you are lucky. Once I spent four hours to get into the vet and another thirty to get someone to check me out to pay. I almost left an IOU. When you have a sick dog, you just want to go home.

They don't seem all that friendly to the animals. They don't seem to really love animals. Perhaps, because they all seem running around like mad...trying to do six things at once. That might also be why it is so hard to get anyone who knows what everyone else is doing.

It is great when you can't afford anything better. Cheap vet care is better than no vet care.

i recently took my cat to ft wright pet care because she was urinating all over my house. within 30 minutes, the doctor had diagnosed her with diabetes. the doctor was very thorough in explaining everything to me and one of the technicians, emily, spent a long time showing my husband and I how to give insulin shots to our little whiskers. i would definitely recommend ft wright to everyone.

Ft. Wright Pet Care has been great! I have been taking my babies there for about four years now. The girls at the front desk are always so helpful. They are always so willing to give me any information that I need. When my dog, Angel, had a dental done there, they were so patient and answered my long list of questions. When my babies have to see a Dr. the doctors are always so informative and gentle with them. You can tell that the people there really do care about the animals and like what they do. The affordable prices are also a big plus. I also like how the staff at Ft. Wright Pet Care is always looking for ways to improve things. A few weeks ago I actually got a call from someone there who wanted me to take a survey and give my input on my experience and any changes I suggested. I have never gone to a vet where they asked me what I think of the service. I feel like they really listened and care about what I have to say. I tell all my friends and family that if they want their pet to be treated great, to come here. It's nice to know that there is a place out there that will let me come in without an appointment, not over charge and actually cares about what I think! I can't say enough good things about this place! Go and see for yourself!

I bring my pets here because they have affordable prices, kind staff and great doctors. When my little Lee Lee got sick they knew just what to do to make her better. I also love how they are open until 8pm and even if someone brings in a pet at 5 minutes til closing they will still see you and give you the proper treatment like they did with us. I am very thankful for this place, the staff and the doctors and so are my pets.

i have been taking my pets to ft wright pet care for about 6 months now after relocating to the greater cincinnati area. the staff is always very friendly and treats me and my two dogs very well. sometimes there is a bit of a wait, but it is usually worth it. it's nice to know that if anything serious every happens with my girls, i have a group of doctors and nurses that i trust. i would recommend this clinic to anyone.

I took my dog in for surgery at Ft. Wright Pet Care. While I was checking in, the receptionist informed me of everything my pet was due for (or needed soon), and said they could do it while she was there- saving me from another visit.

The following day, I called to check on "Carrie", my dog. The nurse who answered was very nice. I was worried about how to care for her once she came home, so I had many questions, but everyone was very patient and helpful.

I love this hospital. They are caring, and reasonably priced!!!

I recently had to take my daughter's pet dog for an emergency visit to this pet center. They did an excellent job taking care of her baby and it didn't cost me an arm and a leg. I would definately recommend them and I will always go to them before anyone else. Thanks.
