I recently had my car detailed there after buying a livingsocial coupon for $120. After contacting them to schedule the appointment I was informed that I had to pay taxes on $245. Because that is how much the coupon is actually worth, was also informed that I had to give a generous tip to the guy doing the washing because that is how he makes his money... prior to going there I sprinkle baby power on carpet and side doors of my vehicle to see how good of a job they were going to do. Well after my wife brought the vehicle home I realized that the trunk was not touch the inside was barely vacuum and the car was not waxed at all I knew this because a few days earlier someone had spray silly string around the trunk I got most of it but it had a few lines left anyway the strings were still there I had to clean it myself.. I just want to say to anyone thinking about paying to get a car detail there keep your money... Also as a manager I would inspect any car that my staff details to make sure the client is getting what they are paying for...

I had the most unfortunate and horrific experience with this company last week after my thermostat light came on in my 2003 Mini Cooper. I usually get all my work with G.R. Automotive LLC (I HIGHLY recommend this company), but I was near this place and I pulled in and dropped off my keys for a diagnostic and estimate. I got a phone call later stating the problem was a faulty thermostat and four different hoses. They also told me several other things that should be replaced. She then stated that the dealership in Baton Rouge (we don't have a Mini Cooper dealership in New Orleans) did not have two of the hoses. I informed her that I have great luck finding parts online and I would try to find them. I found all parts in about 15 minutes online through Sport Mini of Alexandria in Virginia. They were very helpful, inexpensive and shipped the parts overnight. I called her and told her I found the parts and she said that the cost of labor goes from $80 to $100/hour if I bring my own parts. I then asked if the diagnostic fee of $59.95 would be applied to the overall bill and she said no. I found out later through a mutual friend that goes to the same gym (they are all Roid Heads) that she was bitching and complaining about me to him (highly unprofessional if not RUDE)! The next day after receiving called my regular mechanic at G.R. Automotive LLC and asked if I got it towed over if he could fix it and he said of course, he has had MANY customers come to him after faulty work done by The Pit Stop. I then called AAA and lined them up to tow the car. I called The Pit Stop and said I was uncomfortable with their price hike and overall done existent customer service. She said she would not release the car without me paying the diagnostic fee. I then asked to speak to a manager and told him the problem. After screaming at me for several minutes he said come tow it. Run away as fast as you can, that's all I can recommend. Thanks for listening, but I think everyone should know the truth about this company. Total cost of labor $185.30 at G.R. Automotive LLC. One last note, after my car reached G.R. my mechanic told me he found one of the strut bolts and a nut was missing on my front tire....This was VERY DISCONCERTING as I have a seven year old daughter. My car did not have any steering issues at all before this.

I needed my alternator replaced and I was quoted a price two times the typical repair costs but since it was a Thursday & I had a weekend road trip planned for the following day I figured it easier just to let them do the work opposed to having the car towed to another shop. Besides Ruell & Shannon seemed knowledgeable and insisted they only used the best replacement parts in addition to their 12 month/12 mile warranty. HUGE MISTAKE...I picked my car up the following morning, got on the road & only made it a few minutes over the MS state line (I-59 North) before my car died on me again...THE EXACT SAME ISSUE!!! I was stranded on the interstate in the blazing heat for over 3 hours and when my car was finally towed back to their shop, instead of honoring the warranty, they blamed this breakdown on a faulty battery cable for which they would charge an additional $300 (including towing) to repair!!! Yes they are nothing less than con artists...STAY AWAY!!!

Not being from New Orleans and having a daughter attending college there, I took it upon myself to find a automobile repair shop for her. After several hours of reading reviews and searching for a place that I felt comfortable with, I found Pit Stop Automotive. The gentleman that waited on us was very professional, had a very good knowledge of our automobile. As busy as he was he took the time to explain everything in detail that needed to be done. I know that my daughters car will be in good hands at the Pit Stop and want to thank Jerry, and all the people that worked on getting my daughters car repaired in the time that they said it would be done in.

I brought a bucket of bolts to these guys and I drove away in a fine running automobile.I can't say enough good things about The Pit Shop.The owner gave me updates and when I had questions Andy the counter man had the answers.I always knew what was going on with my car and how they were repairing it.Shawn { The Owner} gave me his cell phone number and told me to call him anytime for anything.They told me drive the car and stay in touch with them.THEY CARE! When I picked up the car the price was just what it was quoted to me.It was just a refreshing experience and to top it off Shawn's secretary is a knock out.

My wife towed our car to Pit Stop repair shop while I was out of town. She left my number with them for contact and discussion purposes. Andy, was in contact with me the following day and had all the answer. He broke it all down and spent about 35 minutes on the phone with me. I've never has that kind of time or knowledge shared from any service repair shop before. I like Andy and the way those people run Pit Stop Automotive. By the way, we had our car back the next day fixed and they even washed it.. Doing something right

I own a performance facility in Detroit, I was passing through the Great city of New Orleans, and POW!!! Pothole!! Well being in a town where I know nobody, and nowhere to go, Pitstop rose to the occasion, not only did they get it together in a very timely manner, they gave me a ride to the French Quarter while I waited, for free! When it was finished all I had to do was tell them where I was and they picked me up!! Now that is what I call first class service. Shawn it was my pleasure meeting you and your staff, from one business owner to another, don't change a thing!

The Pit Stop Automotive Repair Shop is the best car repair facility I have ever been to and by far the best in the City of New Orleans. The staff is very professional and dependable. They are experts in diagnosing the vehicle problem and expertly repairing the problem. I would highly recommend Pit Stop to anyone with a car problem in New Orleans and in the State of Louisiana.

The Pit Stop Automotive Repair Shop is the best car repair facility I have ever been to and by far the best in the City of New Orleans. The staff is very professional and dependable. They are experts in diagnosing the vehicle problem and expertly repairing the problem. I would highly recommend Pit Stop to anyone with a car problem in New Orleans and in the State of Louisiana.

First shop I've taken Bronco to in years. I usually do the work myself to ensure it is done correctly and not to mention it saves money if you can do it yourself. Unfortunately, I don't have anyplace to work on my vehicle and the uneven sides of a road is not anyplace I want to be crawling around just to save a few $$$. I read lots of reviews and Pit Stop had the most reviews. Some good, some not so much. I've had my own business before so I know you can't please 100% of the people 100% of the time no matter how hard you try as a business owner. Luckily, the guys at Pit Stop seemed to have many more decent reviews than bad ones. Mostly, I was impressed that Shawn actually had taken the time to respond (all of which seemed completely geniune) to almost every review I read, good or bad. Kudos for that alone, Shawn.

In today's society, most of the places I've done business with seem to have the attitude that I'm putting them out when I walk in to spend MY money at THEIR business which pisses me off enough I almost always walk out at that point. I do a lot of research, I read reviews, I check forums and I'll often spend weeks or months researching where I'm going to spend my money because I've been screwed too many times before. Therefore, I feel I'm an educated consumer whether I'm buying a new car or a new pair of shoes. I'm also a consumer who will gladly take my business elsewhere when I don't feel like a company appreciates my business.

Obviously, I don't have any shops in the area to compare Pit Stop to, but I think Pit Stop did live up to my expectations and in a few ways exceeded them for this being my first experience with them.

I've only had my Bronco back for a day but so far the issue (front brakes and rotors) I took it in for seems to have been properly resolved. The brake pedal is nice and tight and no uneven drag occurs, left or right, when stopping.

I also needed some A/C work, but wasn't sure exactly what. Andy and Jerry took care to tell me everything they believed to be wrong and although I didn't have the A/C fixed at this time, I'm sure I'll be going back to them when it's time.

I also appreciate that they felt compelled to do a couple things that needed to be done and told me ahead of time why they felt it was important why I do certain things now instead of waiting. No one likes to be broke down on account of a $30 belt. So they were on the ball and I appreciate little things like that from a business and their employees.

Personally, just because I'm anal in this respect, I would like to see more details about the parts that were used on the invoice they gave me. Reason being, a fan clutch for instance, ranges from $49 to $119 (give or take a few $$$) I'm hoping since I was charged the higher end of that range that I got a part that substantiates the extra $$$ and wasn't just a mark up. I understand a certain amount of mark-up afterall they are in the business to make money but no one wants to pay $119 for a $49 part just because.

From calling around to other places, Pit Stop is a bit more expensive (not outragelously) than the quotes I got from many other places, but as stated earlier, I'm a consumer that will gladly pay a few $$$ more when I know things are getting done right and professionally.

So to sum up this book of a review, thanks to Andy, Jerry, Shawn and all the other guys/ladies at PitStop. I'll be coming back over the months/years to come as there is a lot more I need to have done to my old ride and I think these guys appreciate what they do and have the integrity to stand by their work. They have my recommendation.

They tell you they'll call you when they know "what's wrong" and then never call you. I kept having to call them and ask and they'd tell you they'd know by a certain time and call you and then NOT call. My oil change, filter replacement, and windshield wiper motor replacement took 3 days to fix. And it seemed pricey. Now, a week later, my rear brake lights don't work. I don't know if they had anything to do with it but as far as I know, they were working fine before I took it there.

I thought it was just me until my boyfriend took his car there last friday. They told him they'd get to it Saturday or Monday and by Tuesday hadn't even called. We drove by and it was still parked in the same place as when he dropped it off. It's Thursday night at he just heard from them for the first time yesterday (Wed). They said his car would be ready by 10:30am today. Guess what? No car. Shocker. When he called to ask about it, they said they'd get back to him after lunch...and never called.

The people are very friendly on the phone, but it's deceptive. It's so rude to never call someone back...and these are not problems that take days to fix. If you can't fix it for 3 days, tell me and I won't bring it to you 3 days early. You can't just keep someone's car for that long.

Please don't make the same mistake I did, take your car elsewhere!

YOU HAVE TO READ THIS!!! :) On 5-2-10 I went to Pit stop Auto Repair in New Orleans with a noise under my hood. They diagnosed it as a bad exhaust converter which was very expensive. Being a single mother in school this information was very upsetting. After discussing different options, Fallon referred me to the owner Shawn, from there he picked up the phone and called the Volkswagen dealer, within a few minutes he had me an appointment and the job covered under warranty! He actually talked them into covering this auto repair under the auto service warranty (which my car was out of warranty)These people at Pit Stop Auto Repair are very special, how many shops pass up the opportunity to make money just to help a girl in distress? Since, I have taken my car back for a/c repairs and the service-price was exceptional. Actually, they inspected the work that the Volkswagen dealer did early this month and found some problems with the quality of work. My car is now back at the dealer for them to properly fix what they did not on the first visit. I am happy to have found a locally owned New Orleans Car repair shop that I can depend on. In response to the invisible woman, I do apologize for not providing an itemized cost receipt. In the past when my service writers were slammed busy they would list all parts and labor and then just total the price. That is a problem I addressed months ago.
As for being rude, maybe you were mistaken fast paced and busy with being rude. We do apologize, a busy shop is a good shop and we try our best to give personalized attention to everyone. We really do work very hard to give every customer special attention.
As for your warranty, the itemized prices have nothing to do with that, there is a 12 month 12k mile nationwide warranty on all new parts listed on your repair order invoice, no worries.

My car is rather old ('93 Mustang) and they really did everything they could to find parts and to improvise when they couldn't. The last people tore my car to pieces trying to "fix it" to the point where it wouldn't start and Pit Stop got it running again.
