At long last, a tasty burger. Okay, maybe it hasn't been that long, Wild Willy's was good enough, but it's been some time since we've actually had a burger that I can honestly say was delicious outside of my own kitchen. It's true Miracle of Science isn't spectacular, there's really two options (more if you factor in different cheeses) but it's a cheeseburger done right, in it's simplest form. Yet another restaurant in Cambridge (on Mass. Ave no less), Miracle of Science is an M.I.T. hangout and isn't shy about being nerdy, as the chalk-board menu is really a periodic table replaced with food items. The menu, while not being a "burger place" per se, is simple, if not pricey, in my opinion. The basic cheeseburger is $9.50 and comes with a hash brown type of side and a pickle. I come to expect fries with my burger or at least an indication otherwise ahead of time, but if that's what they have, then that's what they have. Luckily, the potatoes are very good, cooked well, with a good crust, and are served with a spicy tomato chutney that gives it just the right amount of heat. The burgers are grilled, which I normally don't prefer, but are thin enough they retain at least some juice, and are cooked a perfect medium-rare. The bun is nice, crispy and chewy and a perfect fit for the wide and flat patty. Usually I'm a huge snob for top of the line ingredients, beef specifically, and although I'm not convinced this beef is anything special, it's no frills, and it just tastes good, really good as a matter of fact. It's not drip down juicy, but I don't totally mind, there's no greasy mess and the bread sops up any potential liquid disaster. The cheese is fully melted (at long last!) but I do wish there was more, as one slice can hardly measure up to the girth of this burger. Overall I'm completely happy, easily one of the best burgers we've had so far. The floors are a bit dirty and the tables and wobbly, and I wish there was that extra oomph with the burgers especially at $9.50 plus tip, but it's very good and I'm very satisfied.

Used to love hanging out here when I was living in the area. Great place in the summer when they open the windows. The burgers are "gourmet" but still just a good ole burger. The atmosphere is really cool. Definitely go there for a beer and some beef with a group of friends.

It's a unique crowd here - OK, maybe not for Cambridge - but the food is very good. Really like the burgers and there's more good stuff on the menu, which actually is in the form of the periodic table. Can't make this stuff up. Friendly staff, too.

Located between Central Square and MIT, this local favorite was named Top Nerd Bar by Popular Science. Graced by MIT students & faculty, locals, and engineers from Tech Sqaure, Miracle of Science truly lives up to its name. The chalkboard wall menu resembles the periodic table (Qc is the chicken quesadilla); the condiments are in test tubes; and the tables are slate chemistry lab counters. Favorite dishes include the delicious Roni Burger, cooked with Jalapeno peppers and topped with pepper jack cheese; and the turkey chipotle chili with ground turkey, tomatillos, onions and garlic. For sides, order the wonderful roasted red potatoes and tomato chutney - an innovative alternative to French fries and ketchup. Beer options consist of 20 bottles and six taps featuring Tremont Ale, Brooklyn, and Guinness. They also have a great brunch, try the Brazilian grilled steak and eggs. The music ?controlled by the bartender ? can vary from house to rock to hip hop or Al Green; and at night, the eatery becomes a club. For a unique bar/restaurant with a taste of Cambridge?s tech flavor, take a visit to Miracle of Science. Hey, you might even learn something while you?re there.

Haven't been there in a while but in my ragin' drinkin' days, this was the place for the best Dark & Stormy's outside of Bermuda.

I loved the decor, which looks like it was stripped out of an MIT lab.

Yesterday with my roommate I had a few drinks at Miracle of Science. We had to wait 20 minutes for a glass of wine and a beer that was sitting at the counter that was 8 ft away. The waitress didn't deliver them so he finally took them himself and she gave him a bad look. I was very annoyed, for being rude to him, at so I said wow great customer service. Minutes later, she was complaining to the guy bartender and pointing and looking at us (rude) and she put both of our drinks on his tab without asking us (he had two beers before I arrived, so we did not arrive as a party as they claimed we did). I asked for change to pay my roommate back in cash and the bartender said roughly:

In this bar you need to be not rude and polite otherwise we don't want you here. There is no more discussion about this.

Thus, I STRONGLY recommend you not to support this bar. I usually really like local bars and support them, but I never had such rude customer service in my life. Even in France, where people complain about customer service, I never had anything like this.

Pros: Close to MIT

Try the chicken chili: it's so good, it inspired me to recreate it at home. I agree about the rest of the menu, though.

This is located between MIT and Central Square.

This has been one of my favorite bars in the country for almost a decade. I don't even know if it was called Miracle of Science the first time I went here--at the time, the place was completely unmarked outside. My family was in the Boston area on vacation, and we ended up eating here for three days straight. In fact, my wife and mother found the place. Good food, inexpensive, simple unfussy decore. Have come back every time I've been in Boston, and it is always worth the trip. Expect to drop by Tuesday and Wednesday this week!

The Miracle of Science is a great local Cambridge bar and grill that has a loyal following. During the week and weekend lunch time is very busy and you often can't find a seat after 12. The beer selection is average, with enough choices that you'll find something you like. The burgers are exceptional (try the one with jalepenos infused into it) as is the chicken quesadilla. My only complaint on the food is that I like their salsa so much that I always finish it before I finish my chips.

Went here for brunch/lunch with some friends. I had a breakfast sandwich, which was just okay. The service wasn't very attentive, despite how slow it was in there; in fact, she basically ignored us. The menu idea was clever, but it's very limited, and hard to decipher. I don't see what all the fuss is about.

The Miracle of Science is a very trendy place to hang out. It has a huge periodic table of elements on one wall, and fits in perfectly with the MIT atmosphere. It is a little expensive to eat and the food isn't fantastic but it is a nice place to get drinks.

For about $11 (with tips), I got a hamburger and a coke. The coke was the flattest thing I have ever had. The hamburger was good, they put some special seasoning on it that is distinct from other burgers. The place is a little small, though, and it could get pretty loud.

I was a long time fan of Audobon which prompted me to go to this place once I moved over the river into Cambridge. I was so excited. The food is wonderful and the price is right. And better yet, the staff is so friendly, articulate, and down-to-earth, particularly the bartenders. The burgers and skewers are outstanding, and they have a full bar. I love the ambience, warm and comforting, and the decor - especially the cleverly executed Periodic Table of Food!
