Wally's was the reason that I moved to the south end! Being able to walk over any night of the week and have amazing music, company, and drinks- I couldn't ask for anything more!"

A great little place for free music. Since most of the performers are Berkeley students, you're going to get quality sounds, and if jams are what you're looking for, go on a Tuesday night (it's a little less crowded). Which brings me to the crowds. The place is usually packed Thur-Sat, so I'd suggest getting there early to find a good seat. The drinks are surprisingly modestly priced considering that it's Boston and Wally's is a known hang out. A lover of music will not be disappointed.

Very small and often crowded. but a great place to enjoy some great live music. If you don't have a table, you will get jostled around by people walking back and forth, but after a few beers, it won't matter. The Latin jazz on Thursday nights is awesome. Great place to go if you appreciate a diverse crowd and great music.

Wally's cafe has the best live music in Boston, hands down. I'd go on the weekdays if you want to see the best of the best. The negative is that it is super small.
5This bar is a great place to catch a beer. It holds with it a lot of history. Located on Massachuesetts Ave it is not too hard to find but you do have to look carefully because it is very small. I would definately reccomend somtime stopping by for a drink.
4Let me tell you this place was a definate old school type of jazz club with the low ceilings and extremely diverse crowd. I was almost reminded of back in the day when Robert Johnson was making the deal with the Devil at the Cross Roads in Mississippi, when you have the bars with the jazz scene on one side of the street and redneck rock scene across the street. The Bouncers were twice the size of me and they really couldnt speak well but they were very friendly (I Dont know how they fit in the club without sitting down) The Bartender was great and so was the music. Hope you enjoy it there I know I did

Pros: Great Music, Good Price, No Cover
Cons: Low Ceilings, Packed
Arriving at the club on a Saturday night our group of 2 are told the club is full and asked to wait outside until people left. Meanwhile a group of 2, 4 and another 2 are let in during the 1/2 hour we continued to wait outside because the owner decides to let them in ahead of us. Needless to say we're never going back.

The Neighborhood might be a little seedy but dont let that deter you. Dark, Smoky and very very hipster cool....Wallys has great jazz music every nite(usually berkley students so you get great local talent). Drinks are average price. I dont really have any complaints other than it is a little too small, almost always cramped cause its so popular, but its size adds to its charm. A must visit. Everyone ive taken there has loved it!!

It may look a bit imposing with the big bouncers and shoebox inside, but it's a great local hangout. Where else can you go for live music every night? This place is a melting pot of local culture and no matter who you are you are accepted. Always a good time for a drink and chill atmosphere.

Pros: easy going, live music
Cons: small, imposing
