I love PF Chang's. Yes, it's a chain with nothing too out of the ordinary on the menu, but I'm definitely not one of those super snooty foodies who only goes/appreciates authentic local restaurants. My favorite, which the staff always recommends and everyone seems to always have on their tables, is the lettuce wrap appetizer. For the entrees I love the double pan-fried noodles and the crispy honey chicken. There's always so much too choose from though and I've tried about half of the menu to know that pretty much everything is really delicious! Also, like I mention in the "Pros" section, the Asian Pear Mojito is my absolute favorite drink on the menu. It's also one of the only mojitos I actally like (I'm not a fan of mint drinks at all, but the Asian pear is deliciously subtle on the mint and stronger on the citrus side). Also, the Park Plaza location is great but there's also a PF Chang's in the Prudential and at the Northshore mall if you're looking (they're all equally great to me).

Pros: good food for a chain restaurant, best Asian pear mojito!

Cons: nothing really too out of the ordinary

                            .

PF Chang's is a family favorite when my parents come in to Boston for a visit! We always get the lettuce wraps, and ask to mix the signature sauce a bit spicier than normal. If you're here with little money in your pocket, the fried rice is less than $9 and there's always extras to take home. The sake is yummy, and cocktails in general are also pretty good.

P.F. Changs is what I would consider Chinese fast food. We ordered the VIP DUCK, which had no flavor and seemed VERY TENDER which is a sign that they used PROCESSED DUCK, which is ground up, compressed, then putting the skin back on. The lettuce wraps had nothing traditional with Chinese. The Shrimp with Lobster Sauce didn"t even come close to being the traditional MANDARIN DISH. What? vinegar at the table? what for? The only two dishes that were traditional and flavorful was the SHRIMP DUMPLINGS & the WONTON SOUP. P.F. Changs is also overpriced. Stick to China Town or your favorite local takeout.

Pros: decent wonton soup & Dumplings

Cons: non-traditional, low quality meats, overpriced

I have to admit, I have never sat down at this restaurant. I always do "Take Out". That being said, it's hard not to miss the crowds waiting for a table. So if you go, plan to wait for a table during peak times.

More importantly, the food is quite good. Big fan of the Mongolian Beef, the Peking dumplings, the Shrimp dumplings, the Chicken Lettuce Wraps, and Stir-fried Buddha's feast.

The food is well prepared and you never have to wait for take out. It is soooo much better than the Prudential PF Chang (see that review).

The food is a little more expensive than most Chinese Takeouts...but in a lot of ways, I think it is worth it.

If you have a hankering for PF Changs, I recommend this location.

I love this place! Living in Boston, its hard to find a great place to grab take out without hurting your wallet...(unless you want a pizza or salad) Changs is a great value and the food is consistantly good. Their lettuce wraps are to die for and if you like chicken, beef or seafood of any kind - you are sure to find a dish to satisfy...I love grabbing take out from here because the portions are good size...order a few different dishes and share...you will love it! Great if you are having friends over!

went there few times mainly for after-work drinks, which are great. love the pear mojito to start off the summer. food... not too impressed since i'm asian. feel that some items (ex. potstickers) are just over-priced food that sometimes come with a fancier plate or presentation. service varies, as they're always sooo busy.

only thing that's been deterring me from patronizing is because i've heard some negative things about its owners (whom i heard are not asians). something that has to do with their discriminatory views against asians, whose cuisine ideas they are capitalizing on. what irony is that! i have nothing against high-end asian restaurants (quite on the contrary, i cheer for their success!), but if anyone is trying to reap off benefits by/from/while taking advantage or discriminating against a certain racial group, then there's a problem. i have not been able to verify the truth in these rumors, but i became guarded upon the first hearing of the news. i hope what i heard was false, otherwise i'll definitely start a full-fledged boycott against this place.

prepared. Very surprising this can be done in a Chain with few chinese workers. It has a nice atmosphere with a great bar...looks very fancy so I can entertain here. Prices are also cheap. Located next to Four Seasons and Park Plaza Hotel. When I first went to the place and then found out it was a national chain it was hard to believe. Trust me...this place is well worth visiting.

I took my sisters and mother here for a special girls night out prior to a show. FANTASTIC customer service. We called because we were late for our reservation and they were very understanding and were able to seat us within 10 minutes of our arrival. Our waitress was friendly and extremely competent. The food was excellent. The lettuce rolls were recommended by several people, and now I know why...yum-o! The wine selection was great and the mixed drinks were not weak. I will be going back soon with my husband, I know he will love it as much as I did!

This is the worst chinise "hot and sour Soup" I ever had. Beef with broccli was very strong with soey sause - not good atall. The fried rice was too oily and loaded with leftover stuff, such as beef steak and etc. My observation, no chinese worker and no chinese clientel in the Boise, Idaho restautrant. Service good. There is no need to make a mix of Vinegar, musterd,... at the table. For good chinese food the cook knows best about the taste. The dish must be prepared to taste the best.

My wife and I absolutely love this place. Perfect from appetizer to dessert. Ever since I ate here I can't eat chinese food anywhere else (especially the fried food cantonese places)

The wait can be long but on the upside they have a nice bar if you can't plan ahead and get a reservation. Sometimes we end up just eating at the bar if it's a really long wait. The outdoor seating is great in the summer too. I even proposed to my wife out there :)

My menu choices 80% of the time(I do mix it up every few visits) Lettuce wraps and fried peking dumplings to start. Lo mein combo and Kung Pao scallops for dinner. If can stand a little hot and like scallops at all you HAVE to try these. All the desserts are fantastic but the Banana Spring Rolls are to die for. No matter how full I am I always order that and somehow manage to eat my half.

Gotta run, just writing this review has me craving some Changs ;)

I am a little surprised at the large amount of negative reviews.....Sounds like most of the issues are service related and not so much food related.
We go here when we have show tickets (2-3 times a year or so) and really like it. The lettuce chicken wraps are really good....I usually get the shrimp lobster sauce (which is nothing like it is at fast food restaurants) and my husband LOVES the sweet and sour chicken. The only thing that is a little annoying is that they refuse to change the page on the menu with their beer choices. Everytime we go and order a beer, we get the same answer "that list is a little outdated". Well then, update it.
Other than that, I would recommend it. Its not fine dining, so as long as you don't expect it, you should be pleased.

This place had horrible food. I believe that they are trying to make chinese cuisine fancy by changing some key ingredients in traditional chinese dishes. For example, their duck sauce tasted like honey. We wasted 50 bucks for three dishes. We went out elsewhere after. Not recommended. If you want good chinese food, just stick with the quick take- out restaurants.

I am definitely not a fan of the style restaurant that is barely half a step above the fast food restaurant business (ie. Applebee's, Cheesecake Factory, etc.) and P.F. Chang's is just another to add to the list. After waiting 90 minutes for a table for two (we ended up eating at 10.30pm), we had flighty waitress who continued to forget what we had ordered, requests for drinks, etc. When we finally were able to eat, it was like something I could buy in the frozen foods aisle at Shaw's. Everything was fried (which, in authentic Asian cuisine, is rarely done), oily and overly processed. I can't deny that the prices were good and some of the flavors were great, but the food in general didn't seem at all fresh.
Also, the restaurant itself is very large and therefore extremely loud. Definitely not for a quiet night or date.

I have visited a few of these around the country and theyre all just as good as they other. Consistantly good food, great prices, fast. Order a bunch of dishes and share. Great martini list. Mongolian beef, chicken lettuce wraps, orange chicken, noodles, and the spicy egglplant!!! We always get the banana spring rolls. These dishes are more of a contemporary asain cuisine, not authentic Chinese. Good luck getting in on the weekend evenings. They never took reservations before, but I think they started taking them or at least call ahead. Its still a long wait. Nice modern atmosphere.

given its location, PFs food fails to compare to numerous restaurants a block away. i find the food not-authentic and the atmoshpere was very unappealing. for the price they charge, i expected a lot better service than was received. the waiter seemed over his head and paid our table no attention whatsoever. i'd rather save some $'s and go to chinatown

I can't get enough. My favorite dishes are the steamed vegetable dumplings, wonton soup, beef & broccoli, and fried rice. Pretty much everything I try there is a favorite of mind! Highly reccommended!!!!

we went out to this place to get drunk in one hour time which we had before going to movie. they seated us promptly and the server(Rose) was awesome straight away, making us feel comfortable though we weren't there to eat, but just to drink and it was our first time in that place. For me, this is the first time taking hard liquor after a long long time(1year, 9 months). Started with beers, then went to Buddha's Margarita and Lucky Cat Martini. My friend also took Martini's with Crab-Wontons and finally we signed-off with beers. Though not much of drinking, we were satisfied. Seems like this place is also good to eat. When I go to Boston common again, definitely I will try eating there. the server was cute and got our drinks very very fast ;-) Maybe she wants us to get drunk.

Once you wisk yourself through the revolving doors, you'll find yourself in a huge art deco/ asian style resturant. Super hip, ultimately chic, and get ready to chow. The food here is DELISH!

With every meal your get two orders of rice, brown and white. Being a rice lover, both are superb and compliment any of the meal choices. I also highly recommend their calamari!

The last time I had dinner here, we got the calamari, crab rangoon for a starter and then 4 dinners and the total was under $70 !!!

I have been to this chain restaurant in other cities, but my experience in Boston takes the cake. I love their food, although the portions are starting to get smaller. However, the last time I was here, I met the New York Yankees! I am a diehard Boston fan, but it was a fun experience nonetheless. The atmosphere of the restaurant is great, but I must give it a 4 star rating because of the very lengthy wait time.

I really enjoy eating at this restaurant. I've tried a number of dishes, and have loved every one. If you go, an order of the chicken lettuce wraps is a must, they are to-die-for. I also like the kung-pao chicken and shrimp, Chang's spicy chicken, Mongolian Beef, and chicken lo mein.

The great wall of chocolate is good, but you need to split it with at least 4 people. The banana spring rolls are yummy as well.

There's usually a wait to be seated, so I'd advise calling ahead, but the bar is well stocked with lots of delicious martinis, so waiting isn't that bad of a thing.

No chicken feet or duck (head and all) served here. As the trend with many Boston restauarants lately, the inattentive staff and cold indifferent service leaves patrons with a sour taste.

This is a place to find good food in a good setting, if that food is Chineese. PF Chang's brings together a good combo of Chineese food with a setting you wouldn't be embarrased bringing your parents or a date to, as most Chineese restaruants might with its tacky paintings and red carpets. The make-your-own salad wraps are always a hit and you find yourself wishing you ordered two. We decided on family style dining and ordered two appetizers and three entres and shared them all. I think that this is the type of food that benifits from sharing as you dont want to eat a pile of lo mein by yourself.
The waitstaff is knowledgable, so use them as a resource. The take reservations and we were promply seated, although I think we just got lucky...

I can understand why tourists, suburbanites and uptight families flock to PF Chang's (they just don't know better)...but I cannot believe that the editors/reviewers also give it the thumbs up and place it in the Best of Boston catagory.

PF Chang's is NOT a chinese eatery by any means, but a dive that fashions itself after the schizophrenic theme restaurants at Epcot. If readers want greta Asian fusion, go to Blue Ginger...If you want fantastic, AUTHENTIC Chinese, stretch the extra 0.2 miles to Chinatown.

But...if you're a goofy tourist, stay with PF...you deserve each other.

I've been a pretty regular customer at PF Chang's for a while, but the last few visits have been terrible. Service has gone down the drain and the 2 hour wait isn't worth my time anymore. Although the value here isn't bad, I suggest stepping up the dining experience and going to Golden Temple in Brookline where the food and DRINKS are 100%better!! Being a fan of Chang's over the years, I'm a bit dissapointed, but hey maybe I didn't know what I was missing.. try Golden Temple.

                            Pros: value

                            Cons: long waits, service, noise

                            .

I called ahead to be put on the "call ahead seating", they told me 45 mins, I waited 2 hours. The waiter was just as slow and inconsistant, bringing us the wrong order serveral times. The mixed drinks tasted watered down. The saving grace in the decor. The food was seasoned with MSG (yuk!) and the general gau chicken was soggy. If you are going the theater district start your meal in Brookline at the Golden Temple.

I've been to PF Changs numerous times and have yet to be disappointed. Though the food is not necessarliy chinese (and when do Americans ever really get authentic chinese anyway) it is very tastey. The staff is quick and curtious and the portious are usually generous. Try the low mein for a less greasy version of the classic or the General Gua's chicken which can be VERY spicy depending on the day. Go during lunch to beat the crowds

This isn't the restaurant to go to if you're looking for chicken fingers and fried rice, it's for when you want something a little different (and really good!). The outdoor area is the only place I'll sit, especially in the nicer weather, the drinks are good, the staff is great and the food is unbelievably good.

Just because it is close to Chinatown and calls itself a "China Bistro" doesn't mean it is a Chinese restaurant. The food from PF Chang is totally Americanized.

On the other hand, if you aren't looking for authentic Chinese food, this place does serve decent dishes.

I, myself, have even spotted a few celebs there. Most recently, though not my age group, was Justin Timberlake. The default place to eat before or after the theatre!

Worth the drive and price of parking!

The food was excellet, fairly priced, and our waitress was the best waitress I've ever had. Although it was a little loud, it didn't bother any of the people in my family, and we found it loud in a pleasant way... So if you love Chinese like I do, you should definately go try this place!! You'll love it! Oh - and try the tea.
