I had a very negative experience with Maid Brigade. I would never recommend this to people, especially those looking for a "move out clean."

We hired them to do a move out clean before we list our house and told them they would be coming in on the last day we are there.

I provided a list of suggested cleaning areas, but those were not addressed completely, and other things were left completely undone.

Examples of insufficient cleaning:

Stairs left cobwebby and dirty

Dirt swirls left on blinds.

Sink in basement not cleaned, plenty of crud and dust left for me to pick up

Was told my porch could be done, but the cleaning team refused to do it based on some kind of policy (which is fine if they have a policy, but I wasn't told this), so my porch was left muddy and dusty and with bits of trash

The splashes on the wall to the left of the sink left there, you know the toothpaste and face wash water that inevitably escapes. I got to scrub that off.

Closets left untouched, unmopped, unswept

All the little corners in drawers and edges around appliances - you know the stuff that says "thorough" and "I am ready to be on the market" and "I am well cared for" - was ignored.

All cabinets left untouched, even though spills were evident in a cabinet we looked at together

So here's how this played out. They arrived late, so I had to leave before they are finished. It's holiday time, so I leave what I think is at least a decent tip of $50. When they leave, the lock a part of my door I did not ask them to lock. I get a $140 locksmith bill. I arrive home at night for this portion of the evening, and once I get in I have to start cleaning cupboards, floors, and closets.

Y'all. It's late. It's my last night in my home. This is not how I want to spend it. But I have to clean because I leave the next morning and it simply has to get done.

I call Heather at Maid Brigade the next day and let her know how this story plays out. I am charged on the higher end of the estimate for the job. That's fine, but it's really starting to feel sour since so much work was left incomplete.

The only recourse is a return cleaning I am told. This is a totally inadequate option for me, a "move out clean" because....I have moved out and, given the circumstances, I was already forced to do the re-clean myself.

Maybe that's her corporate policy she has to work with. I get it. What they did clean was clean, but this was not the "gift" in my life others speak of.

I feel duped, like I spent way too much money, and I would never trust this company with an important clean.

The other negative review I see is also from a move-out clean. I wonder if they don't try hard with a move out because they assume they are not going to be a repeat customer.

Maid Brigade is a wonderful cleaning service! Very professional and very thorough. Their work is inspected by supervisors, which is excellent quality control. I have been extremely pleased with Maid Brigade and will continue to use them.

My roommates and I hired the Maid Brigade to perform the move-out service as we were moving to a new house. To avoid our land lord taking out a large amount of money from our safety deposit due to improper cleaning, we decided to have it done professionally. Worst decision ever.

Our appointment was scheduled for noon the day we moved out, after we had cleared everything out. They showed up 3 1/2 hours late! Once they did show up, a few of the cleaners sat in their cars for 20 minutes waiting for the others to arrive, wasting even more time.

They were supposed to wipe down the blinds, baseboards, spot clean the walls, wipe out the cupboards, clean the floors and stairs, remove cob webs ect.. They ended up staying less than an hour and basically only cleaned our bathroom. The baseboards and windows were untouched, as was our basement (not even swept). There were still crumbs in our cupboards as well as large amounts of debri left on the floor which they apparently "vacuumed".

After seeing what a terrible job they did, we immediately contacted the service and complained that most of what they said they would do was not done and to not run our credit card because we were extremely unsatisfied. We were told the next day that they do not offer refunds, only recleans. That doesn't help us because we had to move out already! It's so disappointing that a bunch of college kids on a strapped budget had to pay over $140 for a clean bathroom. We ended up having to clean for another 6 hours after they left.

We would never allow this service back into our home, not even for a reclean because it is not worth it. If we wanted to clean our house ourselves we would not have hired someone else to do it, thanks for nothing Maid Brigade.

Maid Brigade has well trained, pleasant teams who arrive on time and do a great cleaning job. They see the details and the house looks and smells shiny and clean when they leave. The office staff is always accommodating. I recently changed time of day and it was no problem.

My prior cleaning service didn't clean everything every time. They did it in cycles. That doesn't work. Also, I like that Maid Brigade uses Green products. The teams also arrive in a company car and that??s a professional touch.

It was a complete joy to have my house done... As I have been a housecleaner/custodian/supervisor for 31 years. The ladies worked hard and were very friendly. I would recommend and use your services again in the future. Thanks!

I had requested the move-out or house sale preparation for detailed cleaning service and the first time the cleaners came, several items were not done like the fridge not even touched, trash not emptied, blinds not dusted, house not vacuumed properly, closets not swiped at all, range hood not wiped, laundry sink not cleaned, empty drawers not dusted, and just about everything they said they would do was NOT done! I called and complained so the cleaners came back a day later. This time the fridge was semi-clean, but there were still spilled juices stains in fridge drawers and they emptied the kitchen trash, however other trashes were left untouched. Out of all unfinished items all cleaners did in return trip was clean the fridge half way and emptied kitchen trash! All other items listed above were left untouched!

I used to pay someone $15 an hour to clean my house prior to hiring Maid Brigade and she did an excellent job throughout the house by herself in like 3 hours! However, with Maid Brigade 2 cleaners spent 3.5 hours and still got hardly anything done! I will return to my original maid for cleaning service for her efficiency and most importantly, she does the job I hired her to do. With her I don?t have to check and complain about the very items that were supposed to have been done! Yes, Maid Brigade sent cleaners back to take care of unfinished cleaning items, but why the need to have to complain in the first place! And even in the 2nd visit they only did two things and even that not satisfactory!

I am totally disappointed in the service, efficiency, and cleanliness of Maid Brigade service. You may be willing to come and take care of complaints 10 times, but I am not willing to give you 10 chances to fulfill the job you agreed to do in 1 chance! There is absolutely no quality and consistency in the cleaning services as claimed in the advertisements or listed in the checklist published on the website of Maid Brigade.
