Dr Cameron and his team of staff members are wonderful. I have been to this Vet on several occasions with three different pets. My oldest pet, who has since passed, was dealing with many ailments (mainly tumors, possibly cancer) and Dr Cameron never guilt ed me about treatment options. He outlined all the options I had and allowed me the opportunity to decide what was best for my pet and my budget. I recommend this place to anyone.

I took my kitten here yesterday because she was having problems breathing, the doctor rushed and took extremely urgent care of her for me. After 20 minutes he came out and told me not to worry, my kitten was just choking on her hairball and wasn't use to hacking it up yet.

What a great animal hospital! They have always been very helpful and courteous. They seem genuinely interested in developing a relationship with their clients.
Anyone who want honest vets, this is the place to go.

Have been going to Dr. Cameron for 15 yrs. He is by far the most caring doctor. I have adopted 2 rabbits, a hamster, 3 cats, and a German Shepherd. On several occassions he didn't even charge me for visits because they were rescues. <3

On Thursday Dec. 28,2009 i brought my dog ringo to Dr. camerons office for 3 days for boarding, updated vaccines, bath, etc. Ringo is a 5 year old wheaten terrier with no history of illness of any kind and has always been in excellent health. In fact, ringo is an overly hyper dog perhaps due to breed. When ringo was brought out of the car to report for boarding he pulled my 125 lb daughter down bloomfield avenue and when entering the facility he was jumping excitedly over everyone he saw. On saturday, Dec. 26 2009 in the afternoon Ringo was picked up in a highly lethargic state. He would not move unless either carried or pulled by his leash. Even while being forced to walk he wobbled very slowly having difficulty with balance and leg strength. Initially, our family believed that Ringo may have received some kind of sedative and would return to his normal state the following day. The next day, Sunday, Ringo became progressively worse. He continued to have difficulty walking and remained in one spot for hours without attempting to move. Our plans at that time were that if this continued we would bring him to see a vet on Monday morning. It should be noted that this was sunday and vet offices were closed. At 10pm Sunday night, Ringo went into uncontrollable seizure causing us to rush him to an emergency vet in randolph. The vet began to do numerous blood tests to determine the cause of ringos condition. It was discovered that Ringos salt content was severely high and he was extremely dehydrated. Apparently, the massive dehydration resulted in brain swelling which caused the seizure( prior to this Ringo had never experienced a seizure before). Ringo continued experiencing seizures throughout the entire night. Ringo was transferred the next day to a vet in fairfield ,where he remained under the care of an internist and neurologist and his condition remained critical for several days. After some improvement he was released on January 4, 2010. While at the hospital detailed testing procedures were performed including, among other things, blood work, mri, and spinal tap. Ringo was returned with NO diagnosis. Ringo eventually returned to his normal, energetic, and hyper state. The final cost of medical bills totaled $11,146 . We were never reimbursed by Dr. Cameron nor has he ever contacted us to show concern about Ringos health. It defies logic and common sense to conclude that this severe illness was simply a coincidence since a perfectly healthy dog entered the facility for boarding and the same dog was returned close to death. One should think twice before they bring there pet to Dr. Cameron. If anyone is interested in hearing more, or for evidence of this incident, you can send me an e-mail at apalfano576@yahoo. com

Dr. Cameron is a wonderful gentle and kind man. Dr. Ruiz, is polite. I never had an appointment with Dr. Miller. Sadly, the small staff is incompetent and rude, especially when at fault. It is really important to keep your pets records accurate!!!!! The waiting room is tiny, facility is antiquated. Be prepared to wait, even if the office isn't busy.

I could go on and on raving about both Dr. Cameron and his staff. No need. I only need say that after nine years of using Dr. Cameron's Animal hospital it is the most knowledgeable and kind place you could take your pet!!!

I was horrified to read the very negative review of Dr. Cameron's co-workers and staff below. While I don't mean to demean the experience of that individual and am very sorry for his difficulties, his incredibly negative and angry review made me realize that I needed to write a response. My experience with Dr. Cameron, Dr. Ruiz, and Dr. Miller has been nothing but first-rate. For the last two years, all three of my cats have been seeing the doctors at the hospital. I have had pets (dogs, cats, goats, horses, gerbils, etc.) since I was born, so I have more than my fair share of experience with vets. I will gladly see any of the experienced doctors at this hospital. The care costs are more than reasonable, and I can say that having had the following experiences: a cat in for four days for emergency in-patient care, a kitten neutered and monitored through initial shots, regular check-ups for all three of my cats, and smaller, non-life-threatening injuries. As I said, I don't mean to demean the experience of the poster below, but I do want to make it very clear that this is one of the most compassionate, knowledgeable, and caring practices I have encountered in a long time. If you are looking for a vet (which is probably why you're reading these reviews), you have found one who truly will love your animals as much as you do.

I had my first encounter with Cameron Animal Hospital in an emergency. My mother's cat King, had been bitten on the neck by a dog and was in rather severe condition. Long story short, I put him in the care of Dr. Pablo Ruiz, and King came through with flying colors. He spent 5 days there, and considering what they had to do to fix him, it was a very reasonable cost (less then $1000 dollars.) Months later, my beloved cat, Tigger (he's my baby and I am very picky about who handles him, much less does anything medically with him) became quite ill. We were not sure what was wrong but when he began to not eat and was lethargic, we brought him back to Dr. Ruiz since he had done such a great job with King. Tigger was in the midst of a diabetic crisis and was spilling ketones in his urine, had dangerously low potassium and had blood sugar that was more then twice the nornal range. It was looking quite iffy there for a few days, but the staff were all pulling for him, even feeding him chicken from a spoon! I recieved daily calls from Dr. Ruiz updating me on his status, and they even allowed me to come visit him for a little while each day. He came home after 8 days and has been stable ever since. The doctors and staff are truley wonderful, compassionate people who have proven themselves twice to me and have earned my respect and trust. Highly reccomended.

Ive been taking my dogs to cameron animal hospital now for almost 2 years. Dr. Cameron is great to my dogs suzie and lacey. He is the only one that is worth talking to. If you have to deal with someone there, he is the only one that recommend you to speak to. The incompetence of the staff and the other vets will astound you. The record keeping and the lies will never bring me back to them again.
My dog got very sick a few months back while i was unemployed. The bill would have been over $2000 if we didnt accept a foster dog that was residing there. I accepted the dog (lacey), to help with the bill. Right off the bat I told the person that was going to foster her until Suzie got better was that I cant afford to have her spayed and have her first shots. I was told by her that it would be taken care of. The dog was being fostered and was rushed on me (saying that she would keep the dog if I didnt get her) before Suzie was feeling better. I accepted the dog early, thank god she didnt get sick. Again repeating please ask Dr cameron to take care of this. Again she said there is no problem.
After having the dog for almost 2 months and calling many times for her paperwork I got the excuse that the person who does that was on vacation.
That excuse was made again today when I picked up Lacey and the spay bill was over $400. This doesnt include the past due bill that they said I owed which I paid. They didnt have it on file so I have to go home now and get the reciept to prove it. I proved it. I also asked why was the person who does the dogs paperwork was on vacation for 2 months. I got no answer. The shots that Lacey got-no record! No tags for her either. And I paid for everything. After I talked to one of the other vets there to tell them it was supposed to be free, they sent out another person to deal with us. Funny how the person who fostered her and Dr Cameron had the day off. Wonder why they scheduled her for yesterday and to pick her up the day they were both off?!?!
I will not be going back there!
