It's very small and the tables are very close together. It gets very busy, so to avoid a long wait, go early. I crave their fried chicken and mashed potatoes. My bf loves the jambalaya. Hattie's also makes the best mojitos, garnished with a real stick of sugar cane. It can be a bit pricey once you add some cocktails onto your dinner, but we don't care. It's worth the price and the drive anyday!

As a Saratoga local who loves to dine, Hattie's is the best in town. Their food is unbelievable. In the winter I keep warm with always Mac 'n' Cheese or the Chicken and Dumplings, and then in the summer I resort back the the Fried Chicken (though always good year round) and the Fresh Catch (this restaurant is really the reason I love fish...who knew it would be so good at a soul food joint). The food is great, the staff are fun and full of character (i hate those robot like staff to many other places have), and the atmosphere is out of this world. The building they are located in is over 100 years old, so it has great character, and I love the authentic pictures covering the wall. They even have one with Louis Armstrong the famous jazz musician....he has even eaten there. Loved it Loved it Loved it.

Pros: Food, Staff, Atmosphere
Cons: no!
hatties has really good food. it is at a great location right on phila and has awesome options and really good food as well. with a southern flavor, it is a good change from the typical american bistro.
4This is a really fun place to go for dinner and their chicken is truly really good. If you dont like fried food, their mac and cheese is even better. Food is a little pricey for what you get.
4Bobby Flay thought so, and so do I. Hatties has the best fried chicken for miles, but if that's not your food of choice they have amazing cajun/Louisianna style cooking to fit any pallet. It's a cozy little restaurant with great service and wonderful food. There's also a fun bar in the back that's open during the summer--a more mellow option for those of you not interested in mingling with the racetrack folk.

Worst Dinning Experience of my life. The staff at Hattie's is extremely rude and the food is below average. I will never eat here again. There are too many good restaurants in the area. Don't waste a night at Hattie's.

Good for groups? NO! Food is okay but you can get fried chicken at KFC. We went to Hattie's for a friends birthday and were told we would be charged $2 per slice of cake that WE brought and were then charged $2.50. When we questioned it, a staff member rudely pointed out that "the singing was free." (Hey thanks, for not charging us for singing happy birthday!) That same staff member then loudly told the other staff he "hated us." Then we recently got our credit card bill and found out Hattie's randomly charged us another $10. Also one of our tables wasn't ready when we arrived and they said oh, let us get you some drinks. Then charged us for them. There are so many great places to go in Saratoga. Skip Hattie's. And if you really love the chicken that much, get take out.

Pros: Comfort Food
Cons: Tiny dining room, no elbow room, rude staff can't handle large groups
One word - R@TS! If you go to Hatties then watch out for them. They are in the kitchen, behind the bar, and they even wait on tables. The food here is terrible and the staff is rude. My advice - Eat at any one of the many good restaurants in Saratoga but if you really want fried chicken then go to KFC where you won't pay $15 for it.

Cons: Service, Ambience, Parking and everything else - bathrooms were filthy
Hatties has been an amazing restaurant for as long as I can remember. A great place to enjoy a wonderful meal with friends. The atmosphere is always personal and warm. The patio is the best place to have a mojito in the summer and Jasper's Mac and Cheese is the best thing to eat in the winter. Year round a wonderful treat for everyone. The essential Saratoga restaurant. If you have one night in Saratoga make it Hatties.

Of the myriad of restaurants Saratoga has to offer, Hattie's is by far the best dining experience one can have. Checkered table cloths, dim lighting and friendly staff excentuate the ambience of Hattie's. Famous for their outstanding fried chicken, collard greens and mashed potatoes with gravy, Hattie's is open year round. In warm weather, the patio offers a great option for al fresco dining. The patio bar at Hattie's is a favorite of townies, Skidmore students and tourists alike. Simply a 10!
