We are relatively new to the Brunswick area and happened to be driving by Eileen??s Caf yesterday and decided to stop in for a bite. What a mistake. After looking at the menu, my husband wanted to order a tuna melt. The server told him they were out of tuna. He had to quickly choose something else. I ordered a BLT salad with grilled chicken on top and it came with a side of ranch. Another table came in and someone wanted a chicken salad sandwich. They were told the restaurant was out of chicken salad and they only had 1 croissant left. The next table came in and wanted biscuits and sausage gravy. The server told them they were out of sausage gravy. They had to choose something else. Now our food came. The server put my salad in front of me ?? which was a very generous salad and looked really good. I was THEN told they were out of ranch dressing. I informed her that I wouldn??t have ordered the salad had I known that. I chose blue cheese. I was given about 1 tablespoon of dressing for this huge salad. I asked for more and was told that was the last of the blue cheese. Would I like French or Thousand Island? No. I don??t like those. Needless to say, I was pretty upset. Another server stopped by and asked how the salad was. When I told her my saga, her response was ?? Wow. Bummer. And kept walking. Really?? This was 12:30 on a Saturday afternoon. I can see running out of sausage gravy after a breakfast rush ?? but come on! Dressing? Tuna? Croissants? Chicken Salad? And nothing was done to rectify the situation. They didn??t offer to take the salad off my bill (which I ate dry because I was so hungry) or at least a percentage off. I would not recommend this place. The entire staff was more concerned gossiping about people in the town, then the people who are they??re trying to enjoy a meal.
