The owner of this salon is the most RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL person. I scheduled a massage, and specifically told the personnel that I was on my lunch hour, they had me undress and wait for TWENTY FIVE MINUTES. I asked someone to check on my massage therapist precisely 15 minutes into waiting. No response. I finally got dressed, and as I'm leaving, a woman, who claimed to be the owner, says "Oh I hear you are upset about your massage, well our therapist just learned about a death, so sorry." I told her I didn't believe her, and that if that were truly the case, I should have been told when I checked in, or someone should have come and told me. I should not have been left to sit there waiting in a robe for 25 minutes. The owner replied, "We're human." and as I walked off upset, she says unprovoked, "Karma's a b**ch." Yes folks the owner of the business spoke to me like this because I was upset about being left to wait. My time is just as important as yours. In the event of an emergency, you should go TELL your clients there is a need to reschedule, not leave them sitting there, waiting.... waiting....waiting....and waiting.... to only offer an explanation when they are fully dressed and headed out the door. Of course when you offer it at the last second it appears as an excuse. Furthermore, what kind of professional uses PROFANITY AGAINST THEIR CUSTOMERS?
DO NOT GO TO COTTONWOOD unless you have at least a half hour to an hour more than the time you allotted to sit there and wait on them to provide a service, and condone this lady's unprofessional attitude. off a gel peel for making you wait. Not this time, she was RUDE and wholly unprofessional.

Cottonwood has excellent customer service. They always offer a drink of water, wine or tea to me. I never have to wait for my technician. I also love their boutique. I have received amazing facials as well as massages there before. I appreciate their attention to detail and their willingness to please the client no matter the cost to them. Good job, Cottonwood. I would recommend them to anyone. Some of these reviews are scathing and OLD (2008 and older). I feel that someone who is that angry would have definitely gotten help at Cottonwood. I have had a few issues as well but they have been so polite to me and fixed the problem right away by compong the service or giving other options.

i love cottonwood! i've been going there for about 8 years and have gotten every service imaginable. i have never had a bad experience. sure there's been staff turnover and a few minor bleeps just like in any other business but they make every effort to please you! they have great education programs and i think the best stylists, nail techs, (and other staff too) in the world. i've traveled to many other countries and experienced many spas, and can say i think cottonwood is the best. i've always gotten my money's worth!

I'm writing this review as a warning to anyone considering getting extensions from Cottonwood. Ive heard good/bad things about this salon and I'm sure they have a few amazing stylists, but I feel I should share my clients experience to help anyone considering getting hair extensions at Cottonwood. I had a new client come in yesterday to my salon for extension removal. As a Great Lengths stylist, I was expecting to remove Great Lengths hair extensions but wasn't sure what I was getting into as I didn't book the appointment, our receptionist did. Long story short, my client had gotten hair extensions done at Cottonwood Salon one week prior and her head was breaking out in a rash and sores. The extensions themselves looked VERY cheap and they were applied so close to her scalp that the wax from the fusion bond were scratching her head and she could hardly even lay her head down to sleep. The bonds were HUGE, way bigger than fusion bonds should be. The bonds sizes were very inconsistant and very close to her hairline and to the crown of her head. Apparently they told her the extensions were Cinderella hair. So for people who dont know, as far as hair extensions go, Cinderella hair isn't the best but as least the salon is going through a hair extension company and not going down the street to buy hair and the beauty shop. The problem was, the application was absolutely horrible and even painful for the client. When she called to ask if it was normal to have major itching and rash, they didnt even apologize and said it would be a week before being about to remove them. Needless to say, she couldnt wait that long and called our salon to get them removed as she literally had red sores on her head, The kicker, she was charged 1800 dollars!! I about choked when I heard her say this. I can understand paying that amount ALMOST for Great Lengths or HairDreams extensions but for Cinderella hair and fusion bonds?? That is a complete joke. She was completely ripped off and the salon didnt even offer to refund any of her money, Just felt other potential clients should know this story. Save your money. Get Great Lengths or HairDreams extensions and don't be ripped off paying for high price hair extensions and getting the cheapest ones out there!

As Cottonwood Salon Spa continues to lose their best people, they continue to elaborate falsely on those who remain. They lose their best colorist, and suddenly, they have several master colorists! The majority of people employed there only remain due to the steady paycheck; most are plotting their escape. If you tell people that you are the best for long enough, they might eventually believe you. Cottonwood is merely phenomenal advertising, the place is a joke. You're much better off going to a smaller salon, where you will get personalized service. If your stylist from Cottonwood had left, google their name and profession; you will find them. If Cottonwood tells you that they are no longer in the industry or they don't know where they are at, it's most likely a lie. Look even harder then, there's a good chance that they are right next door........to Cottonwood!

This is the worst salon Ive ever been to!! First of all, I wonder how some of these hairdressers even graduated beauty school! When I told the girl that my highlights dont even show up instead of trying to re-do her mistake she made up a million excuses as to why I think that. She was trying to make me think that Im crazy. I asked her if she could re-do them, and she flat out said no because they were closing. I thought on their website they had said great customer service! Ive never been to a more rude place. They are basically just there to do hair any which way and then charge you. Biggest mistake...Worst hair salon in Oklahoma!

Don't get too attached to your stylist or any other employee from Cottonwood. Most of them are great people, but if they leave, (they eventually will when they realize how much better the real world is) Cottonwood will tell BOLD-FACED LIES about their whereabouts, just to keep you from trying to find them. My favorite person, who I've been friends with for years and who brought me to Cottonwood in the first place ended up leaving. Cottonwood called me and told an outrageous lie about them no longer being in the industry. It was comical, because I knew that they had just accepted another job offer. Do you really want to give your money to a place that will lie to you in order to take it?? The honorable thing to do is to try to get the client to book with someone else within the salon, but if they ask where their regular stylist is, JUST TELL THEM! These days with facebook and google, you can find anyone regardless, so Cottonwood just looks like lying idiots when people find out the truth.

Here's the TRUTH about Cottonwood. It is inconsistent. It's BRILLIANT when it's right on. I think some of the staff in the front are rude and annoying little Edmondite kids. The turn over in the front must be high.
Too bad that the desk people piss the customers off (me at times, included).

Amy Martinez and Darren will ALWAYS ALWAYS cut your hair right! THEY ARE NEUROTIC! Perfectionists! I love them both. You really can't beat anyone there for color. It's Aveda.

Ask them to fix it....THEY WILL! Just speak up. That's how I met Amy. I went in for a quick trim there and a newbie cut my bangs crooked. I didn't really notice it until the next day. They booked me when I called, right away with Amy.

Estheticians are all great and I've loved and cherished EVERY massage I've ever had! Harold is my favorite! I couldn't tell you about manicures and pedicures. I don't really like those.....I know....I need to get over it :P

I think they need some older, better paid, more mature front desk people and more discounts on massages HINT HINT! ;)

I also purchased a massage for a friend with very discriminating taste for Valentine's Day. He was impressed as well. I would recommend Cottonwood to anyone interested in quality and extra services included with their appointment.

Yes, you read that right. I had hair past my shoulders and just went in for a trim, and before the ordeal was over, I had a mullet. Not only did the "hairstylist" ignore the examples I took in to her, she repeatedly insulted me. When I questioned why it was taking so long for a trim she said "Oh, you must be use to one of those 15 minute salons..." in a really derisive manner. Then she cut my hair dry. (I have straight hair, so I don't understand that one at all.) I kept questioning her about the cut she was giving me, but she kept insulting me. 2 hours later, she turned me around and I had the craziest mullet I've ever seen. I immediately started crying, paid, and promptly found an appt for a haircut the next morning. I wound up with a short bob (so long 11" of hair) and a really light wallet. To add insult to injury, when they did their "customer satisfaction" call and I told them what happened, they refused to apologize or refund either haircut. However, they offered to give me a free service at the salon. UMMMMMM.... NO. Why would I go back when they completely screwed up the first time. I will NEVER go back there. DON'T GO THERE!!!!

I know that bad news travels fast and that one bad review can spread faster than one positive one. However, I am surprised that there are so many negative reviews about Cottonwood on here! I adore this spa. I have been going for *years* and I wouldn't go anywhere else. I can't recall a single unpleasant experience. I recently went in for an eyebrow wax and a spa pedicure and they have been my best to date. I highly recommend Rebecca for eyebrow waxes. I have gotten my hair cut from her before and I didn't even know she did eyebrow waxes but she did a fantastic job. I had a spa pedicure that was long, luxurious and relaxing and my poor, tired feet have never looked better. The girls were young, but none of them were rude or snotty. The decor is pretty and relaxing. The services are always professional.

I highly recommend Cottonwood and I promise that for every bad review where someone just needed to vent about a bad experience there are literally hundreds of good reviews that have gone unspoken on the internet.

I have tried two stylists at Cottonwood. I'm 55 and wanted a conservative, business style. I specified that I did not like bangs. Both stylists gave me bangs, the second told me "You'll get used to it." I told her that this is not what I wanted. I returned two days later to have my hair re-styled. I told her I didn't get used to it and I wanted the hair redone without the bangs. She spent the entire time telling me the she would re-do this withouth charge, but it was coming out of her profits, she was losing money, on and on. Both stylists attempted to push over $100 of products on me (everything from mousse to dirt). Apparently the only styles that they can provide are the ones THEY like and wear. Too young and too fashion page for me. Having the ability to give the customer what they want AND make it look good wasn't possible.

My daughter went there looking for a layered style without loosing her hair length. A LONG conversation explaining exactly what she wanted and why too place with the stylist assuring her she could do exactly the picture brought in and exactly what my daughter specifited. The stylist cut off 5 inches of length. My daughter was preparing for a video presentation at work. We had to get extentions put on to give her the look she needed to match her agency head shots.

It seemed like a nice, professional place when I walked in. I guess that's why we kept trying it; trying different stylists. They can keep their visions, their attitudes and their products. Neither of us will ever go back.

After being misscheduled by another salon in Edmond my girlfriend and I called Cottonwood to see if they could fit us in. We had already taken the day off and had our whole day planned around our services. When I called Cottonwood for 2 massages and 2 pedicures, they were a little hesitant at first due to the short notice, but put me on hold to check. After a few moements of waiting on hold the lady came back on the line to let me know that they could get us for the pedicures but not massages. We decided to go ahead and take whatever services that we could get. When we walked in for our pedicures everyone greeted us with a friendly hello. I had never been to Cottonwood and was amazed at how beautiful the Salon and Spa was. While we were getting our pedicures we had told the ladies what had happened to us.What happened next was a shock, they apologized for the troubles of the day and it was even their fault. They offered us wine while we were getting our pedicures. The pedicures were great!! They even gave us free hand and arm massages since we could not get in for hour massages. What a wonderful place, very nice, very accomodating, very everything. I reccommend Cottowood and can't wait to go back.

After being misscheduled by another salon in Edmond my girlfriend and I called Cottonwood to see if they could fit us in. We had already taken the day off and had our whole day planned around our services. When I called Cottonwood for 2 massages and 2 pedicures, they were a little hesitant at first due to the short notice, but put me on hold to check. After a few moements of waiting on hold the lady came back on the line to let me know that they could get us for the pedicures but not massages. Horrible place to get your hair done, the girls there CAN'T cut hair and bad customer service. Sure their website is nice but don't get fooled. I will never go there again! By the way the owner, did not go to hair school, doesn't cut hair! Wow

This place is very over-rated! I called to see why a check my daughter had written on Oct. 1 had not been deposited as of Oct. 24. I first was put on hold for about 4 minutes - all the while getting to listen to what a wonderful salon and spa they were. A human finally answered but had to put me through to someone else, second person put me to manager, who put me to owner. She did not understand why I would be concerned with when they deposit their checks. I was told that a check was a financial document good for a year and they could hold it that long, lord, what kind of customer service is that? She also thought that it would be an advantage to not have the check deposited since my daughter would still have that money in her account and she wanted me to know that even though it was not deposited that she did owe for the service she got there. I have been a customer at this place for about 4 years. I have had facials and massages there and they were good but mostly I go for my hair and waxing.

They will give you something other than cookie cutter hair. I get mine cut and colored and have always been happy. I also get waxed every month. It is the only place I could find where they do a decent brazilian wax. They have several techs who are really good but you may have to keep trying to get in they are really busy all the time.

Ask for a gift card and see for yourself.

I was about 10-15 minutes early for my first appointment, a hair cut.

No one offered to take my coat or umbrella, or even bother to indicate where I should put them, so I kept my wet things with me throughout my visit.

I specifically told the hair stylist I wanted it long enough to pull back. I told her I did NOT want bangs. She suggested a "swoop" to the side. I agreed to it, but the finished product was not a "swoop" but rather bangs that were in my eyes!

The make up "lesson" however was the real disappointment. The "lesson" in reality was a rather mediocre application with NO real instruction:

1. I was seated where there was no mirror. How are you supposed to learn techniques without being able to see them?

2. The only instruction I received was when I specifically asked the stylist "Now what exactly are you doing?" "Tell me exactly how to do it." To these questions I got vague answers but no instruction.

3. On the website, it specifically says that make up lessons include a brow shaping. The stylist never even touched nor mentioned my brows.


At checkout, I had a slight snafu with the staff member who was not aware that a makeup lesson with $50 aveda makeup purchase was $30 not $55.

To add insult to injury, this is the official response from the salon to my complaint:

I have had my hair cut, several massages, a pedicure, and facial. I had my hair colored twice and both times when the color should have been entered in the computer it wasn't so the information was lost, not once, but twice and this happened to my daughter as well. Otherwise, the massages, and other services are some of the best. The Salon is very nice and the people are all very friendly. I only wish they would get a few larger robes for those who are not a size 6!

I had my eyebrows waxed at this salon and I was very disappointed with the end result. I kept telling the aesthetician that she was missing a lot of hairs but she just didn't get them. I had to go home and pluck for 15 minutes. I do like the salon. It is very nice inside and they offer a variety of spa services. I will go there to get my haircut, which I plan on doing soon, but I will get my brows done elsewhere next time.

After hearing all the hype about this spa, I was excited to try it. I found the staff to be very kind and professional. I was very disappointed however by the behavior of the spa owner.
While interacting with her staff, I found her to be very condensending and disrespectful.
I felt uncomfortable and unable to relax while trying to enjoy my "day at the spa!"
I will not recommend this spa - but only because of the owner's obvious lack of respect for her staff. Very sad to see considering how hard these young people work.
