Brian Grobleny was subcontracted to us by Bill Frusco Plumbing to do a ceramic tile floor and baseboards and to also tile the inside of my shower. He did the floor but said he would have to do the rest another time because he didn't have time in his schedule. The code enforcer from my town saw him outside and told him he was working without a permit and had to apply for one. He applied the next day and was DENIED because he IS NOT LICENSED TO DO TILE IN PENNSYLVANIA!! I called for 3 weeks asking when he was coming back and he never once called me. He only spoke to the plumbers to tell me he wasn't coming back because he was harassed for not having a permit. We found out later that this was a lie and that he didn't come back because he wasn't allowed to without a license. Now I am told my floor was installed illegally. He is a liar and our new contractor said it is only $75 for 2 years for a license so there is no excuse for him not to do this. He is still out working now WITHOUT A LICENSE! Please beware. My town is slapping him with a $1000 fine and when we follow through with the attorney general the state will do the same.

Cons: unlicensed and walks away from the job

Tilerama has excellent prices for tiles, supplies and equipment. The selection of tiles is very limited therefore, I would not recommend for something more specialized or extra fancy. Their prices cannot be beat for grouts, etc. since they carry the top of the line material in this category. They rent tile cutters for minimal prices. I would compare their stock to the major home improvement stores, but they're prices are much more competitive and you can create your own patterns on tile for much less than their big name competitors.
