Low quality compared to other sushi places.

* no prices on menu. I wound up ordering a sushi roll that was too small !!
* immigrant waiters. in rush hour. and not enough to service the tables. REALLY ?? it just creates long waits.

We made reservations there for a Saturday evening.
it was very full and noisy, but sure paid off when we
ate the food. Very delicious, we went there for a birthday and the staff was very nice and helpful. The plates for adults are usually around 13+ for the hibachi. But worth it,

I have been to Blue Fish on many occasions, both to the sushi bar as well as the hibachi grill. The food has always been good and the service has been acceptable, never stellar. Tonight, my wife and I took our 15 yo daughter (9 in the party) there for her birthday, at her request, and I chose to order sushi while everyone else at the table ordered from the hibachi grill. Apparently this created an issue for the waitress who had to be pressed to bring wasabi, chop stix, a soy sauce dish and other common sushi accoutrements. When I asked what the problem was, she confided that she was too busy with the hibachi order and that if I wanted sushi, I should have sat at the sushi bar.

Ate there many times last year but after watching hostess/waitress pressing a middle age businessman into drinking, until slurring his sentences, I did not return (it turned my stomach). I just spoke with a friend that still dines there and he said that the hostess/waitress was no longer there - I think I'll give The Blue Fish another try.

THIS PLACE IS A HELL!!!! THE BLUE FISH S U C K S!!!!
THEY DON'T DESERVE ANY STAR AT ALL!!!!
DON'T BE FOOLED BY OVER PRICED FAKE JAPANESE FOOD!!!!

THEY DISCRIMINATE ASIAN PEOPLE KNOWING THAT THEY'RE AN ASIAN RESTAURANT! THE MOMENT I STEPPED INTO THIS PLACE THE SERVERS LOOKED AT ME FROM HEAD TO TOE, LOOKING AT ME LIKE I DON'T HAVE ANY MONEY TO PAY FOR THE FAKE SUSHI THAT THEY SERVE.
AFTER 45 MINS WAITING FOR MY ORDER, THE MANAGER AND THE SERVER CAME UP TO ME AND SAID THAT THEY HAVEN'T COOK MY ORDER SINCE THEY MADE A MISTAKE ON THEIR OUTDATED MENU. JUST TO COMPENSATE FOR THEIR MISTAKE THEY'RE WILLING TO COOK THE FOOD AS LONG AS I PAY THEM EXTRA.

I WALKED OUT OF THIS HORRIBLE PLACE AND WILL NEVER EVER GO BACK AGAIN!!!!

My friend recommeded this restaurant and I'm glad she did. I have dined at many sushi restaurants and this one has been very impressive. The staff was attentive and fast. The ambient was friendly and cozy. I was however most impressed with the food. The sushi was very fresh and tasty. I would definitely recommend the yellow tail. Overall, I was satisfied with all my selections.

With awards for The Met, D-Magazine, The Observer and Citysearch ( to name a few) I figured we pretty much could not go wrong with this sushi location. What we found was far BEYOND SUSHI! This sushi restaurant was amazing. The service superb and the freshness of the sashimi and sushi was just the start of this sushi adventure. We started with an appetizer of crab claws. These are fresh large claws with a light batter and stuffed. Wow! We then moved on to the Ahi tower ( once again fresh fresh fresh) this was a combination of Fresh tuna tarter based sesame oil over snow crab avocado salad, bedded on a sushi rice with a creamy wasabi sauce,,,,,,,, excellent! For the caviar lover we had the bluefish trio next, with fresh snapper, Scottish salmon and ahi tuna topped with various colors of the caviar family. Sauteed jumbo Scallops were next! WOW! These were lightly pan seared HUGE scallops, with a jalapeno sauce that was not too spicy and full of flavor ( if you are a scallop lover , do not walk, run to this location) I almost forgot the combo sushi plate and the black cod appetizer ( wow we ate a lot of sushi here) We finished off with the berry tower on advice from another Citysearch review, they were right! I would come back just for the dessert! Really, if you love sushi and you love fresh sushi, and you love great service and fantastic desserts, go to Bluefish now! Where sushi is not just sushi anymore???.the most fantastic, BEYOND SUSHI EXPERIENCE I have ever had!

After having lunch at 1:54PM on July 8, 2008 with three co-workers, Hans Raina & an unidentified employee walked stood in front of the restaurant and pointed to my party. We got in the car thinking, maybe we left a personal item. My co-worker drove to the curbside and asked them, "did we leave something?, we noticed you staring at us." From the door, Hans stated, "yes could have left a decent tip". He then proceeded to approach the vehicle. He made comments about it being in North Dallas & it's a private club and they aren't obligated to serve certain clients. I stated that I am a vegetarian and didn't have any of the cuisine, I attended to accompany my friends, and he said "good". He tried to give an summary of their individual bill totals and misstated the amounts and what was ordered. My coworkers said, "obviously you have the wrong party, you must be referring to the group of four that left moments before we did." After behaving in an unprofessional and infantile manner he had no choice but to look like a complete idiot. We asked him for a businnes card. He said he would get one, but never came back outside. My co-worker went into the establishment and got a card from the front desk. In summation, it is shameful and a disgrace to encounter individuals that have no regard for patrons. Hans Raina is supposed to be the example of compotent and friendly management. I have never witnessed an incident like this in my life and hope that I never will. No one should experience a situation like this and guests should NOT patronize this establishment until they learn decency and respect.

This is absolutely one of my favorite restaurants. The food, music, and atmoshere are the best! And as a sushi lover, this is the best place in town! The Russian roll is divine...The Greenville, Julie's, and the Rainbow are all specatcular. Along with the rolls and sushi, the salads are great...Miso dressing wonderful! Blue Fish offers the best sushi for the price. No place in town can beat it.

Sushi is always good at Blue Fish, and their 2-for-1 sushi at lunch is a great deal. Kind of crowded here, and they've opened this hibachi thing, but sushi is the core business.

Sushi was great as it has been the last 4 times we visited but the service experience was not. We had to go to the bar to get our own drinks when several tables in the waiting area got service. We had to wait one hour instead of the 35 minutes promised(I think they forgot us)then the waitress did not smile, give our starter warm towels or anything. The sushi was great, the russian roll is my favorite, and several of the speciality rolls were worth the price. Looking tho for another place since the last two times we have spent our money we come away thinking why be treated like that cause we are not the young and yip crowd?

Place to be seen for the young and style conscious, but that's about all. The bald headed egotistical manager is a joke, prancing around completely oblivious to his customers level of satisfaction. Poor service, poor food quality, just another fad for the unsophisticated youth with too much money and no taste.

Blue Fish is one of our favorite places to visit after work! The food is wonderful, and the drinks are usually perfectly mixed. I highly recommend sitting in the bar area which has a few bistro tables and comfortable couches; you can order food and drinks in this area, but I do not recommend doing so unless you have the patience...the bar waiters tend to disappear for lengths of time and are generally not overly-excited to take care of you. They have cheap sake a few nights out of the week, so try to visit them on those nights...otherwise be prepared to spend almost $10 for drinks (including well martinis and wine). If you take these tips into consideration, you will have a wonderful experience...but be forewarned, or else wait for a regular table in the back and play it safe.

So our food was great, but the service was arrogant. We began to filter in for our 1:30 reservation and were told that they did not seat incomplete parties. That would be fine, during a rush or if it were busy. Even if they told us when we made reservations. When we finally sat we were told that we had to hury and order because they close at 2:00. Well, if we hadn't had to wait for one or two people that wouldn't be a problem either.... We were asked if we wanted seperate checks, when we answered yes...the answer was "we don't do seperate checks!"....Didn't you just offer that?
When we broke up the check, one in our party paying with cash put the exact change in, and was told, "Mame we don't take change." How arrogant and rude! The only person who smiled was the server who brought our water.
NOONE APPRICIATED OUR BUSINESS NOT THE SERVER, NOT THE HOSTESS!!!!
DON'T GO!

I stumbled upon this restaraunt one night while looking for a place to eat. I used to eat at a different sushi bar on Preston before I discovered this one. The food quality is outstanding and the ambiance is wonderful. I have eaten here on several occasions and have always been pleased. The manu has lots to offer and the service is great. I have recommended this restaurant to eveyone who asks where they should go for sushi.

The restaurant is great for all ages. There are several hibachi grills, which are great for families. There is a fun bar area that serves up great cocktails. The restuarant area itself is the perfect medium between casual and dressy. There is a long sushi bar, so if you don't want to wait for a table, there is usually room there.
For sushi lovers, you have to have the ahi tower. It's a must. There is great variety and the menu explains what comes in each roll, so you don't have to constantly ask the waiter!

Not the cheapest place for sushi, but they have the best sushi in Dallas. Try their volcano sushi, it's a plate of California Rolls with sauted scallops with sauce poured on top of the rolls, it's my favorite dish there. If you're in the mood for hibachi, they have very good hibachi also. Everything there is good, you can't go wrong with any of the dishes. Their tempura is also good. Hard to believe that this Japanese restaurant is owned by a Russian guy.

Message from Blue Fish

...The opposite of a quiet, intimate sushi bar, the Blue Fish is enormous, loud, stylish and good. Where else can you find most refreshing menu that is all Japanese -- no Thai food to confuse the palate. And to be honest, sushi purists will find plenty to keep them interested.

Live specials such as Spanish mackarel, sea urchin, Live hottate(scallop), Black Bass, mirugai (giant clam) and much more.Order the Ahi Tower to see just how well the kitchen can plate. It's tuna tartar and sesame oil over snow crab and avocado salad on a bed of wasabi infused rice. It's almost tragic to watch the server destroy this architectural marvel table-side to make it easier to eat. The "cake" portion of spicy tuna on crispy rice cakes in uzu and garlic sauce. It's delicious...
