The service Advisor always she made sure I know the status of my car while in service. She calls me to let me know how things are going and when the car might be ready. Also technician made sure I`m pleased with the repairs and he is eager to know what are the things in my car that need to be repair. Also service manager has been very nice and making sure my needs have been take care by the advisor as by the technician. Great service experience all the way. Ten thumps up!

Honestly - I believe you bought a lemon, and the story about the dealership driving your Passat 1200 + miles is ridiculous! If the car is as bad as you report, how would that even be physically possible?

I have been a Metro VW customer for many happy years now. In 2003, I selected Metro over all other local dealerships because (a) they gave me the best price on a new GTI, and (b) they did this up front and honestly when asked. I could not get a firm price from other dealers (Rusty Wallis and Hiley), only the usual "Well let's sit down and make a deal" BS.

After I purchased the car, about a month later I noticed an engine rattle at idle that did not sound good. I took the car back to Metro, and they ended up shipping the rattling engine back to Germany for an engineering study but more importantly they installed a brand new engine in my car, all within 1 week! This was the expensive VR6 engine too. I was told that the engine alone costs 12K!

The happy ending? I still have the car and I still drive it daily with 130K on the odometer. I have purchased only a new battery, tires and oil for maintenance.

It is widely known among VW enthusiasts that Metro VW is THE place to do business. I highly recommend them and I will definately look there first for my next car purchase. They are family owned, and they are honest.

Took my vehicle in for 20k mi. maintenance. The dinged the drivers side door to the tune of $700+ damage. Not only did they claim they had no knowledge of the incident/damage, but when I complained to VW of America, they not only called me a liar about contact with the service manager, but they stated their case in such a way that ... well, I'll return their behavior - they lied. I then submitted the issue to the BBB after speaking to the General Manager Brad Haggestad. He misstated facts and passed off lies from the service departments.

In order to resolve further issue with the vehicle I took it to Boardwalk VW who informed me that my rear break pads were within 2mm of damaging the rotors. (less than 1500 miles after Metro had done the $460+ 20k service which includes a break inspection) .

Further complaints to VW of America resulted in a call, but at this point, who can trust them? The damage vehicles and let customers drive away in potentially unsafe vehicles.

If you want the VW and BBB case numbers, ask!

MY METRO VW DEALER REVIEW
Sales Experience

I have owned VW??s since 1964 when I got my driver??s license. My journey began when my father purchased a 1957 Karmann Ghia on February 9th 1963. I loved to clean and polish it and purchased the car in 1965. I learned to drive in that car and kept it for several years. I owned many air-cooled Volkswagens until 1996 when I decided that because of driving requirements I needed to switch to the water-cooled cars. My first purchase was a 1987 Scirocco 8 Valve from a man at my workplace. My wife liked the car so much that we purchased another one from an individual along with a 1989 Jetta GL.

We discovered sometime later the Sciroccos were a little too temperamental and in early 1998 I purchased our first car from Metro VW. It was a 1988 Jetta Carat. On the way home the speedo died and Metro quickly took the car in and replaced the speedometer. That car proved to be one of the most trouble-free VW??s we ever owned. Metro didn??t do too much on the repairs at first because I always figured the hourly labor charge was too much. I later learned this was poor thinking on my part and in 2004 began using Metro VW for most maintenance. Over time, Metro has actually proven to me to be about the same price as independent shops and in many cases cheaper.

In 2000 I purchased a new 2000 White Golf TDI at Metro. TDI??s were becoming popular and I drove it a year till I sold it to a friend at his insistence. In July 2001 I again returned to Metro and purchased a Red Golf GLS TDI. I really like the TDI engine VW introduced in 1998. It is efficient and delivers excellent performance and mileage. In December, 2001 I purchased another TDI. This time I got a 2002 Red Jetta GLS TDI. I am still driving both cars. My highest fuel mileage was in the Jetta on a Trip to and from Tulsa, Ok. I averaged 63.8 MPG. In each sale the sales staff has treated me with respect and never pressured me to make a decision that hour or day. They motto is to make the customer satisfied even if it means not selling a car at a given moment. In my case I was always satisfied because it was our decision.

Service Experiences:

Metro Volkswagen in Irving has given me excellent service on all the cars I have purchased, but especially the TDI??s I am currently driving. The Red Golf GLS TDI currently has 108,000 miles and Metro has done a superb job of maintaining it. Tim Kimber, Service Manager is very cognizant of my resources and treats me with respect and courtesy. In 2009 the Golf needed a new Alternator. I had the car towed to Metro where they installed an alternator that was defective. Instead of arguing with me about fault Tim and his Shop Forman drove to my home 45 miles away to pick up the car and take it back to Metro. They discovered the alternator was indeed defective. They replaced it, filled the fuel tank with Diesel, washed the car and returned it to my home all in the same day. Another reason I use only Metro VW is that I can wait on my car for service. While waiting in the service area I always hear customers rave about the sales and service team that wait on them. I often hear stories from customers as far as 400 miles away who insist Metro is their dealer for sales and service. When you hear positive comments like this from other satisfied customers you know you have made the right decision about where to buy and service your new vehicle.

In 2006 I purchased two additional cars from Metro. A 2006 Jetta TDI that became my daughter??s car after the passing of my wife and a Gas Golf GL which replaced a 1992 Passat that I had added as a 3rd backup vehicle because we were driving a lot of miles.

I have been privileged to know Brad Hagestad and his father for as long as I have been a customer. They are attune to the needs of their customers and always stand behind their work. It is indeed a privilege to work with them on any new or used car and the service department is second to none. I guess that is why I rarely see a turnover in staff.

I used Metro Volkswagen for an oil change and some repairs on my Beetle and was completely satisfied with them. The staff was really accommodating and the job was done quicker than I had expected. When I got my car back, my oil had been changed, the repairs were fixed and it was squeaky clean inside and out. I will continue to use Metro for all my car needs in the future, even though there are other VW dealerships closer to. It's definitely worth the drive.

I used Metro Volkswagen for an oil change and some repairs on my Beetle and was completely satisfied with them. The staff was really accommodating and the job was done quicker than I had expected. When I got my car back, my oil had been changed, the repairs were fixed and it was squeaky clean inside and out. I will continue to use Metro for all my car needs in the future, even though there are other VW dealerships closer to. It's definitely worth the drive.

First of all, I could've given a 0 star rating if there was one! This is a honest feedback I am providing here which might help all the fellow volkswagen owners to avoid this particular dealer in Irving. My car had a coolant leaking problem and the first time when I visited this dealer they inspected my car for 1 full day and finally told me that the problem was with water pump system and that the water pumping system has to be totally replaced. Along with, they presented me with couple of other problems too which they proclaim they proactively noticed, I was so dumb to trust them and ended up paying 1400$ to fix all the proclaimed problems. I thought I could live happily here after with my car.
But here comes the coolant empty light again on my dash board in no more than 3 weeks, damn...I visited the same dealer again and was so patient with them, this time they inspected the car and came up with a different reason for the same complaint. They said the coolant reservoir was leaking and that I need to replace it with a new reservoir tank. I really wonder how the so called experts at VW dealership could miss the most obvious reservoir leak the first time I had this issue. Any novice person too could have maee an obvious guess and checked the reservoir as a first step in identifying the leak. I still had faith and trust in the dealer and paid for the new reservoir tank and got it fixed.
And now here comes the coolant empty light on my dash board again for the 3rd consecutive time only 1 week after the coolant reservoir was replaced with a new one. I had no other option but to run back to the same dealer where they told me that this time the problem is with a heater cord or something and it will cost me 950$ to fix it. This leaves me in a complete shock and dismay!! Same complaint but umpteen reasons to steal money from the customers and yet fix a wrong problem which infact was not a problem at all!!! I walked down to the manager and personally urged for any help he can offer but he was reluctant to offer any. All that he offered was a small discount on 950$ as I already got the same problem FIXED twice earlier!!!!
This is a blemish to the reputation of such a great company - VW. I wish the dealers were so transparent and cooperative when the customers trust them blindly.

I purchased a 2005 VW TDI Golf. All was good until dealing with routine maintenance. The did the timing belt/water pump and that's when the problems started. I would turn on A/C and push in clutch and the car would stall. Told them the car wasn't same after the replaced the timing belt and to check the timing. They had my car 5 weeks and replaced the fuel pump (which did not look new or clean) for $600 and the car had the same problem plus the cruise control no longer worked, but sweared they checked the timing. One week later the water pump failed. Took it to another machanic, and he founfd the timing was off. He reset it and replaced the water pump for $500 and the car works like the day I bought it. Will never deal with this shop again!

Metro VW damaged our car. They also billed for parts not installed. We found 100's of extra miles and parking tickets for night clubs in the glove box. The tires were flat spotted/ruined from being parked in their lot for the duration on the 2007 summer season. The head light lenses yellowed from the summer heat.The windows were left open during the rain. Leather was cracked and dried out. Evidence of birds roosting on the sat backs! Metro VW dented the fender, stole our new VW battery and replaced it with an off brand, and they never fixed the problem!

My spouse owns a VW, so we sometimes go here for parts and service. Metro VW provides adequate service, but their service people can be quite rude if you aren't one of their "preferred" customers. They need to work more on being polite to ALL their customers, especially if they want them to return.

Buying a car is a traumatic experience, but not at Metro VW. They offer competitive new and used car prices, and you may luck out and not spend all day closing the deal!

More importantly, their service department is responsive, affordable and delivers what they promise.

They are a very nice and professinal car dealership. They hav a large inventory. The customer service is very nice. They will not puch you much. They will give you good rates. They have a nice location . They have a lots of cars. i will recommend them to everyone looking for a car. They have a nice location

This dealership will give you the best customer service. Recently they did a Herbie promotion where they gave out free breakfast and free Herbie tickets. They were so nice and answered all my questions regarding new VW Beetle convertibles. When I'm ready to trade in my car I am definitely going here, everyone was so nice. All their cars were beautiful and they have an awesome selection. I was very surprised. Love them!
