Over four years with Saint Nicholas on Braeswood, has been a wonderful experience.
We are greatly impressed with the academics and the learning experience of our daughter. The teachers are very caring yet firm about discipline, Most of the teachers have been there for 5-12 years.
We have seen a change in the administration for better; our questions and concerns were always satisfactorily addressed.
Highly recommend the school for strong education and discipline.

The Mullins center is VERY poorly run. Teachers have difficulty keeping children under control. They do not use positive reinforcement at all. Teachers are unhappy and it shows. They have a high teacher turnover. Make sure that you check credentials and training in Montessori system. Poor educational skills for little children. Director of this center is not there oftentimes and has poor communication skills. The owner of the school and director of the other center is NEVER available to answer any questions. She invests very little money or attention to this center. Her only contribution is to make sure that parents buy expensive uniforms from the school. Beware of this school.

    Pros: Location

Cons: Teachers, director, facilities, interaction with parents, etc

Educational component is very good but watch out if you have any general concerns, good luck meeting with Headmistress to discuss matters. Office staff turn-over is rather high. Be prepared to dress your child in a school uniform from about 18 months on up. The school sells expensive uniforms and are strict on rules regarding them, even down to the shoes and sock colors. Watch out for promises that are sometimes hard to hold the school to, for example, no yearbooks-as promised annually on their website. Do your homework...it's your child's best interest at hand.

Cons: Broken tiles at entry and on roof, mold; Staffing ratios inconsistent

Our experience with Saint Nicholas has been exemplary. The program is far above and beyond a daycare. Our daughter is 15 months old now, LOVES school and we could not be more excited about her development. The kids test easily into the best high schools, and are impressively advanced for their grade levels. I love the great diversity among the students, yet most of the children come from somewhat similar backgrounds. Since the school is in the heart of the medical center, I have found that most of my daughter's classmates have professional parents working in the medical center, which is our case as well. The teachers are exceptional, nurturing and the very best out there! This school is a great choice!
