Today was my first visit to the Neighborhood Pet Heath Center and Dr. Munsell was wonderful. My husband and I will recommend anyone to take their pet to him. He was very professional and yet communicated great compassion to us and our dog. If you care about your pet and your pet needs medical care, take them to Dr. Munsell. Thank you Dr. Munsell and everyone at the Neighborhood Pet Heath Center for all you do!

Today was my first visit to the Neighborhood Pet Heath Center and Dr. Munsell was wonderful. My husband and I will recommend anyone to take their pet to him. I feel like finding Dr Munsell, and his staff, is a blessing from God. Honestly.. when I first moved to TX my 13 y/o cat almost died. After an emergency surgery, and a rocky recovery attempt, we found Dr Munsell. He has treated my pet like one of his own. He even called us personally during Christmas break, to check on her before I left town. It's been 3 yrs since her near death experience, and with Dr Munsell's help I'm confident we have many more years of happiness together. She's doing well and it's so nice to know that the staff and the Dr are truly looking out for her. You won't regret trusting NPHC with your loved ones!

I have gone to this clinic when it was located on North Tarrant and since it has relocated to Davis Blvd. It used to have a great and friendly professional staff but everyone is gone now. I really felt that the old staff was looking out for me and my pets. The new people are not professional and even sometimes rude. I tried to buy my dog's special food twice and they were out. Never happened before. There has to be a reason everyone is gone, and I am concerned that now I don't know anyone. The doctor is okay, but I had to go to another clinic to get my dog's illness diagnosed and treated. Won't go back now. the people who manage and staff the place make the clinic good or bad and this one went from a 10 to a 1. The doctor cant be very smart to change the employees like this. My freind is ging to change too.

Dr Munsell's reply I appreciate and consider all reviews and comments and I would certainly encourage any of our friends and clients to contact us should they feel that we have not met or exceeded their expectations. We all care very much about our clients and patients and strive everyday to provide the best of care and service. Regarding our team at Neighborhood Pet Health Care, we do have and have had excellent and caring employees. I think that we have continued to improve our level of client service and patient care. It is the nature of our profession as with others that there are transitions in staff due to many factors. We will always have high standards for all of our team as well as myself. We try to go the extra mile to be compassionate and caring in our service to our patients and clients, professional and conscientious in our medicine and surgery, and fair and honest in our business.In my experience as a pet owner, I have never met a vet that is more professional, knowledgeable, and compassionate as Dr. Munsell. When we adopted our kitten two years ago, we found out she had FIV. Unfortunately, this means we require more visits to the clinic to keep her as healthy as we can. He has been nothing but supportive and helpful in giving us information about this disease and treating her frequent infections.
Every time we take her in the staff are so friendly and caring. I feel as if they really do care about us and our animals. The prices are great, and the care is even better. I would not trust my babies with anyone else.

Dr Munsell's reply This was a very distressing case for all of us. Although this person has chosen to be anonymous, I do not want to reveal any privileged information on this case, but I can clarify some points of fact. My purpose here is not to be adversarial but only to clarify as best I can. 1) This lady expected the dog to have seizures. I cannot comment further on this. 2) Initially, we wrongly advised the client that we had missed giving a medication because in our early investigation of the matter it appeared that we had. We treated the pet at our expense based on our initial findings. However, after further investigation, we found and advised the client that we had not missed a medication and that the medication that we gave was appropriate since the dog was seizuring. 3) We make it a point to be forthcoming to every client about our care of their pet, even if might reveal a mistake. 4) It is misleading for this person to state that "she noticed they had skipped her medication" when in fact we advised her of this initial finding. We were very sorry to hear the news on our followup that her pet had died. It is understandable that anyone would be very upset by this loss of a beloved pet.My experience at Neighborhood Pet Health Center has been nothing short of superb. I have lived in many places and, because of that, I have visited several of veterinarians, each of whom had their own personality.
Over the many years I have kept pets, I have never met a vet better than Dr. Rod Munsell. Dr. Munsell is a warm, caring, compassionate, and very professional person. In addition, he is extremely knowledgeable and thorough as a pet health care professional. We have taken our dogs to him for several years and expect to do so for several more. We have always been pleased with the courteous and respectful manner in which he and his able staff have treated us and our pets. Every time I walk into the new, state-of-the-art facility, I feel as if I am part of the family. The well-trained staff are superb hosts, and they genuinely care about us and our pets and are glad to see us.
Last summer, one of our dogs developed an uncurable cancer. We eventually chose to euthanize her. Prior to that, Dr. Munsell took every possible precaution to be sure we had a correct diagnosis and that our dog was experiencing minimal pain and discomfort. He went out of his way to make himself available to us for consultation--helping us consider all the options for treatment of our dog. He even stayed very late on a Friday so that both my husband and I could meet with him. This is the hallmark of a genuinely concerned and committed veterinarian.
I recently recommended Neighborhood Pet Health Center to my hairdresser. One of the things I said to her is that I feel that, especially for the reasonable prices, my dogs (and I) receive the best care available. That is especially true because Dr. Munsell also knows his limits and is unafraid to consult with specialists whenver he is gathering information for his patients.
I have the utmost confidence and trust in Dr. Munsell and can heartily, and without any reservation, recommend him and his staff to anyone.

Dr Munsell's reply Thank you very much Dr. Elizabeth for your kind words ( I know this wonderful lady and would feel it inappropriate to drop her well deserved title). I confess that afer reading the previous posting that indicated that I was less than respectful, I asked this very educated woman and client to reply and give you her perspective. I did however ask that she be unbiased and completely honest in her commentary. It is not my habit to ask a client to reply to posted comments, however I did think that the previous posting might give any reader a distorted idea who we are.Although the doctor may be very knowledgeable as a veterinarian and has a very well set up clinic, he is the ultimate shovanist. He has the worst time interacting with people and is very hard to comminicate with. He thinks women should basically "bow" down to him, and shouldn't wear any make-up and people should not have tattoos or piercings. He is very stereotypical and old fashioned. If I had known about this man and his views on life and people around him, I would have never brought my animal to his clinic in the first place. He's rude and heartless overall, even if he is knowledgeable in what he does.
