This is literally my first restaurant review ever. I never bother with things like this. However, I like this place so much, that I felt like I had to take the time to register, just to share my opinion.

To sum it up quickly: Great food;

What a surprise when my wife and stumbled upon Lupitas. I can make a meal of their salsa and delicious charro beans. We often split an entree and leave stuffed. The staff is very friendly. This is our go-to spot for Mexican in Sugar

My wife and I dined in the restaurant for sons first birthday and left our diaper bag at the table. We realized when we got home that we had left our diaper bag at the table and called the restaurant but was told there was no diaperbag left behind. We are 110% sure the diaper bag was left there, that was our last stop and did not go anywhere but straight home after. Inside the bag was a Casio video camera and Flip digital camera w/ priceless photos of our baby boys birth all the way to his first birthday party,haircut,etc...that we will never replace..We have yet to speak with management and have been given the run around by employees of th restaurant. We have filed a police report with sugarland pd and believe the waitress was involved based on her being there that night and her suspicious behavior when confronted ..So please beware of dishonest employees willing to steal from customers and lazy management. If they do this, then whats next, credit card scheme aimed at paying customers?..be on guard, let our mistake be a warning to all!

I was introduced to Lupita's back in the day, when it was called "Pico de gallo." They had to change the name to Lupita's because some outfit in Austin sued them for rights to the name, but whether it's called Pico de Gallo or Lupita's, this place rocks it in the food department every single time.
A family owned restaurant, the tour de force here is Mama Lupita and her home made recipes. The flour tortillas are handmade with TLC, and soooo good that sometimes I just snack on the tortilla. The steak fajitas are tender and burst with flavor in each bite. The chicken taquitos are perfectly crisped and airy. The enchiladas de faja are divine (heavenly eye rolls every time i take a bite). To top it all off, Lupita's chips and salsa include a homemade warm bean salsa that is out of this world. Don't be fooled by the unassuming interior with the pinatas hanging from the wall or the standard diner-type red chairs - Lupita's serves up the BEST TEX-MEX I've tasted in all of Houston - all for an unbelievably reasonable price (dinner for 2 less than $30).

Pros: Hand made tortillas, mama's recipes, fajitas

Cons: none

I was told about this place from a friend. The ceiling is filled with colorful pinatas and the kids love it. The hot flour totillas are bigg enough to wrap the fahitas then tie em in a knot. The dips and chips are good.

The only thing I could complain on was the steel back individual chairs, no booths.

I had no problem taking all of my co-workers and guest there with confidence.
