Yes, yes, the map collection here is staggering, but more than that, it's USABLE. I don't mean that you can plot your trip right in the store (perhaps you could, but for pete's sake, buy the maps!), but rather that the staff can help you choose just what you want. I was even able to compare multiple maps of the same quadrant for an upcoming trip, picking both the scale and the style that suited me best.
Highly recommended!

Pros: Enormous resource of maps, good staff.
Cons: fighting through Pioneer Square
Metsker Maps is one of those special stores that makes you wonder who is buying enough maps to keep them in business...until you walk in the store. They have so many maps and books, that even the most geography phobic among us becomes intrigued. I know I'm not one to go out map shopping...but every now and then I pop into Metsker's, because it's fun to look at the maps.
PROS: Huge Selection, Hard To Find Items, Helpful Staff
CONS:

Stepping into Metsker Maps (in downtown Seattle just outside the Pike Place Market) brings the little kid out in each of us. I've always had a fond place in my heart for maps, and Metsker Maps does not disappoint.
4Parking downtown can be a pain but if
you throw in lunch and Metskar Maps
its worth the trip. I love the quaint
feeling of the store not to mention
the selection.
