This restaurant had a lot of hype and we were excited to go. We were seated promptly and the service was fine, but unfortunately one of the meals was cold. The waiter took back the meal, brought a fresh hot one and comped the meal.

We went to Cascadia for the first time on 6/19/08. Wasn't sure what to expect because of the mixed reviews I'd read about the service. But I can say without qualification that our waiter was wonderful; I think it is the best service I've had in a Seattle restaurant in a couple of years. He was unpretentious and did not interfere with our dinner as many "Hi, my name is Charlie" type waiters in Seattle tend to do, but when asked a question was very knowledgeable and spent about 10 minutes describing the preparations and his favorites when I said I'd never been to the restaurant before and wanted his recommendations. I took his recommendations (their house specialty salmon dish) and a selection of recommended appetizers and it was delicious. All and all a lovely evening--by the way, we lingered for about three hours and were never rushed by anyone.

Pros - Interesting food combinations and professional service
Cons - None

Chef Kerry Sear's Cascadia Restaurant is one not to be missed in the Seattle area. He offers a modern palate of food selected from regional ingrediants at a price that isn't going require a second home mortgage.

For instance, I had the prix fixe menu which is a set menu for three courses for just $25! And it changes from season to season. Also, their tasting menus only range from $55 to $85. Talk about affordable elegance!

The decor in the restaurant is modern, but every relaxing and inviting with hardwood floors, a fireplace, and private dining rooms.

Essentially, the Cascadia Restaurant shouldn't be missed.

PROS: Great food with a regional flair.
