Active Appliances saved my butt, I have 3 kids and my sisters family was coming to stay with us for a week. I had tons of laundry to do before the family came in to town, not to mention all of the clothes that would build up after a week of amusement parks and beach trips. \nI started my first load of clothes and walked out of the room. When I came back there was water all over my floor and the clothes were not even close to clean. I called American Home Shield and they sent out Active Appliances. I absolutely had to have someone come out either that night or early the next day. Active called me an hour or so later and set up the appointment for the next morning. \nThe serviceman Dario showed up just after 9 am and within an hour he put in the parts the machine needed and was on his way. The machine was fixed in time for me to get everything clean before the family festivities began. Thank you Active Appliances as well as Dario who was so prompt and helpful through all of this. I would definitely suggest Active!\n

My oven door wouldn't open. We pulled and tweaked, but could NOT open the door. Our landlord's appliance and drain insurance company sent out the 2 guys from Active Appliance - we had no choice.\n\nOn the up side, they showed up within the specified time frame. That's the extent of the up side.\n\nIt went quickly downhill from there. First of all - it was a warm day and I can appreciate that these guys do hard work, but SHEESH! The odor that came in with these two was unbearable. One was the worker and the other one just seemed to be the watcher. \n\nI stood and watched as the ""tech"" yanked and yanked at the oven door. When that failed, he yanked it upward as if he was trying to slide the door out from the top. He used much more force than we had when we were trying to open it. Finally he removed the entire door and said the hinges were broken and he had to find new ones.\n\nIn between all of this, he had taken several calls on his cell phone and yelled at his callers.\n\nHe asked for his 60.00 service fee and I wrote him a check. He said he'd try to find the replacement hinges and would call me. I called Active Appliances on the 6th day to get an update and was told that the landlord's insurance would not cover it because the ""tech"" reported that I broke the door!!!! After I stood there and watched him yank it every which way to Sunday!\n\nSo now I have no door AT ALL on the oven. It's sitting on the kitchen floor where the ""tech"" left it. I get the feeling that he knew when they left that day that he was never going to come back. \n\nIf you call Active Appliance on your own, you're probably okay. I think they intentionally ream the folks who are going through the insurance companies.\n\nIf you're forced to use them - stock up on room deodorizer and record the ""tech"" on videotape for when you get blamed for breaking your appliance yourself. I wish I had!\n

As a result of their lazy serviceperson not replacing a water line and just cutting and splicing it together, my cork floor was ruined by water damage. Carlos the Manager is worthless, passive aggressive and will come up with more reasons why they are not responsible for the damage they did. He told me to take the manufacturer of the splicer they used to court. If you have insurance and they want to send someone from Active Appliance DO NOT LET THEM!!! DO NOT USE THEM!!!

Cons: BAD SERVICE BAD PEOPLE

.

I just bought a house, so I have been working with lots of home repairs. Most of the experiences have been a little disappointing, but this one was so bad, I actually signed up on city search just so people would be warned at how amazingly bad my experience was with this Company. I had two repair appointments scheduled with them. The first one they rescheduled with less than 24 hours notice, and then proceeded to show up as late as possible for the newly rescheduled appointment. I had to keep calling them to schedule my follow up appointment, and when I finally was able to schedule it they couldn't get me a saturday for three weeks. I expressed that my work schedule limits my availability and they assured me that they would come as early as possible within the window, and not come as late as possible like last time. When I called THEM to find out where they were at the EXPIRATION of my window, and after I had already lost a half a day of work, they said they were going to be late. They obviously have no respect for customer time, and I would never ever use them again.
