After living in several cities across the US, I can say, without a doubt, that Dr. Clark is THE best OB-Gyn I've had. Her manner is friendly, she is adept at putting you at ease while still trying to understand you as a person first, then patient.

She's an incredibly popular Doctor in the city, which is why I'm not surprised at having to wait a bit longer in the waiting room. Personally, I've referred five close friends to her, and they adore her. To my surprise, she sent a "thank you" card for referring those friends.

If you're new to SF or you're looking to switch doctors, I highly recommend Dr. Clark. She has two locations. One on California (near the Presidio) and one on Hyde. If you can choose locations to see her, go to the California location. Easier to park.

I couldn't disagree more with the above reviewer. Although I would like to believe that a doctor, especially a gynocologist, holds her patient's well-being as a high priority, my experience with Dr. Wilson and her office has not reflected this. She has twice showed a neglectful, even careless attitude towards my health, and I find her general demeanor and attitude to be condescending and medically uninformed. Last year, her office sat on my bladder infection results for 4 days while I was in awful pain. Dr. Wilson, her associates and staff were completely inept at confronting this situation, and I ended up going to my primary doctor for medication. Dr. Wilson did apologize to me after this incident, and against my better instincts, I decided to give her another chance. This past week however, Dr. Wilson sat on a refill request of mine for a week, and then denied the request to my pharmacy on a Friday before a Holiday week. She showed no interest in following up with me or calling to explain to me why she had denied my prescription, even though she had filled it over the past year. (This medication was very important to my ability to function daily, and her refusal to re-rill the prescription or provide me with an explanation for her reasoning really left me in a scary predicament). Once again, I was stuck at the mercy of my pharmacy and primary doctor (again, for a second time) to help me. Lucky for me, the pharmacist was very understanding and helpful, and supplied me with an emergency quantity of the medication until I could contact my primary doctor (this on a short, holiday week when doctors are rarely in the office full time).

Pros: none

Cons: far below-average care

.

I've been going to Dr. Wilson for more than ten years and have always found that her kind, intelligent care inspires the utmost confidence. I feel fortunate to have found a doctor that I really like and trust, especially in the OB/GYN field where women can feel pretty vulnerable.

Although Dr. Wilson no longer does obstetrical work, her collegues in the group cared for me during my pregnancy. I ended up having potentially dangerous complications and was admitted to the hospital a month early. I never had a doubt that I would receive the best care possible and I did. From my initial emergency call to the decision to go into surgery, I felt cared for, well informed and secure.

Also, the staff is efficient and trustworthy. My disability papers were processed immediately and my phone calls and appointments are always handled in a professional manner. The medical assistants are smart, cheerful and friendly.
