I have known Dr. Abularrage since the birth of my daughter 18 years ago. When it comes to my child's health or the health of any child, Dr. Abularrage goes above and beyond. He has given my husband and myself every reason to feel confidence in his knowledge and skill as a physician. When you call to make an appt. whether emergency or well child visit the office staff does their very best to accommodate you and if you need to speak with Dr. Abularrage he is very prompt in returning your calls. You cannot ask for a more thorough physician. Dr. Abularrage has always made me feel at ease when it comes to my daughter's health. I have never left an office visit or sick visit with unanswered questions or second-guessing what Dr. Abularrage has told me. My husband, daughter and I feel that Dr. Abularrage is a wonderful, caring physician and shows compassion towards his patients and their parents. We love Dr. J. and don't know what we would have done without him for the past 18 years.

Overly aggressive in getting my child to come in for ANY reason. Bills for the slightest of services (well care visits might turn into an office visit for tenuous reasons, so he can charge more). Frequently attempts to use the experiences of special cases that he has seen to imply that my child might have the same results without consideration for risk factors (pushes for lots of shots). Has a tendency to use parents insecurity to push for unnecessary treatment and recommends his other doctor friends. Overly protective of malpractice (refused to write a doctors note saying my child wasn't on medication to the dentist). Frequently absolves himself of the business side by claiming he applies the medical care while his staff applies the pricing, but there are frequent mis-interpretations of his notes resulting in higher costs for services not rendered and hard to prove either way. Attempts to get you to over consume medical care. When you do get to see him, you get all of his attention though. I stayed with him because he is geographically convenient and I can see through all his persuasion, but its irritating.
