Dr. Scelsa seems to be competent but he is so rushed and busy that you can't develop a sense of knowing your doctor or being remembered by him. He is friendly when you finally see him after a 4-month scheduling wait. However, the last time I went to see him 4 months after I needed to see him, I waited over an hour and then announced to the receptionist (for several doctors) that I was leaving. She was actually shocked. I guess treating people inconsiderately is a feature of today's medicine, especially at Beth Israel's Phillips Ambulatory Center. I recently got a call confirming a new appointment that I hadn't ever made.
Dr. Scelsa seems to have been swallowed up in overwork and bureaucracy.

Pros: He seems to know what he's doing and has the latest equipment.
Cons: Overloaded with work, hard to get an appt. with, waiting time in office can be over an hour.
