If you need glasses this is the place to go. The selection is amazing. From top brands to those who are on a budget, they have everything. It's almost overwhelming but everyone working there is very helpful. You'll get what ever it is that you need there.

This place is so big. Everyone and their mamas go here. I thought the service would be slow because Linden is huge and it gets pretty busy, but on the contrary, this business runs rather efficiently. You check in at the front where they'll get all your info/insurance and then direct you to the right department where you'll wait...maybe 10 minute. Not too bad. I've waited longer than that at costco's optometry. My Dr., Dr. Persimian (I think that's how you spell her name) is awesome. She was very concerned about my eyes and gave me great instructions on how to make them feel better. She even did her best to max out my insurance. I ended up with great contacts and max out my insurance and paid the additional $20 myself. I rather max out my insurance than leave a balance there to go to waste. Love this place.

I recently had an eye exam at Linden Optometry with Dr. Marian Yan, and she was wonderful. It was the BEST, most THOROUGH eye exam I think I've ever had. (And I've been wearing glasses since I was in elementary school.) She's knowledgeable and has a very professional manner, and she gave me great advice. I highly recommend her if you need an optometrist.

They also have an employee there named Fred, who is a MASTER at repairing and adjusting glasses. Its amazing what that guy can do with a screwdriver and a pair of pliers. :)

I called Linden Optometry at 10 AM on a Saturday because my son's teacher said he was having trouble in school and maybe his eyes needed checking. To my amazement, we got a same day appointment! The doctor was very nice and explained everything she was doing. She obviously has lots of experience with kids. My son loved the whole experience. I was so pleased that I made an appointment for my older son the next day and brought him in.
I don't hesitate to recommend these doctors. They are really good with kids. The entire staff was very friendly on the phone and in person. My youngest son picked out some really "cool" glasses.

I had a great experience with my doctor; I don't remember her name, but she was young and Asian. I usually get very nervous at the glaucoma test and so do not get results for the air-puff test. She was very patient (and gentle) when she did the eye-poke test in lieu of the air-puff test.

Their frame selection is also pretty extensive; the salesperson is also good at picking out frames that fit your face shape well.

When you need your eye glasses fixed for any reason this is the place to go. They are reliable to repair your glasses the first time. This is a fast and easy service in Pasadena with free parking in the front and back of the store.

I'm a private person and don't usually write personal comments on public websites. But I really wanted people to know about my wonderful experience at Linden optometry with Dr. Limfat.
First of all, they agreed to see me without an appointment. I walked in -- knowing that something was wrong with my left eye, and they offered to see me THE SAME DAY. (At the time, I had no idea how serious the problem was.)
Second, the doctor who examined my eyes was awesome. His name was Dr. Limfat. He spent lots of time with me. He discovered that I had a detatched retina. He told me I needed to have it taken care of right away. The situation was URGENT.
He referred me to an opthamologtist and I ended up having surgery the very next day.
Here's what floored me: Dr. Limfat even called me up PERSONALLY to make sure I followed thru in seeing the Opthamologist and getting my eye taken care of.
Thank god I walked into Linden Opt. when I did!!!!
I could have lost my vision in that eye if I hadn't come in to Lindens when I did.
This testimonial is to applaud Dr. Limfat for his skill and caring, and for Linden Opt. for seeing me so quickly. I am truly grateful.
People need to know when someone does something wonderful like this.

Linden Optometry does have the best customer service. All doctors I've seen are good; however, I highly recommend Dr. Arlene Yepremian. She is good at what she does, loves what she does and it shows. Excellent thorough consultations. Wide variety of frames... and most of all the office is open on the weekends and until 8pm during the week. Accomodating and convenient.

If you need contacts, I highly recommend this optical, especially an awesome lady there named Tanya. I had tried contacts several times before but could not get the hang of getting them in and out of my eyes. Tanya was extremely patient, she spent a great deal of time with me. Very calm, professional. Pretty lady, too. I really didn't think I would ever be able to wear contacts. It has made a huge difference for me. I can see much better when I ski, play tennis, baseball, etc.
The EyeDoc DR. Limfatt impressed me also.. Very capable. Genuinely nice guy, too.

I went to Linden with no appointment and waited only 15 minutes. The doctor I saw was great and conducted many test. I had been to 2 doctors elsewhere because I could not see good the other 2 doctors said my vision was 20/25 which could not be because I could not see very well. The doctor @ Linden was great and after many tests when she put the prescription up to my eyes I could finally see good . My prescription had change a lot in just 6 months so now with my new glasses I am able to see well. Thank you to the staff and the great doctor I saw.

I was very impressed by Dr. Emily Linden's skill with children. I had taken my little girl to the Linden office for an eye examination at the suggestion of her school nurse.
Dr. Emily was very thorough. As she was conducting the examination, she explained what she was doing every step of the way. It was very child-friendly and non-threatening. Very educational for me as a parent as well. I came away with a great deal of respect for this doctor's education and intelligence.
The optician, a friendly lady named Fay, recommended an impact resistant lense for my daughter -- to help protect her eyes should she be in an accident and her glasses break. I sincerely appreciated her concern.
My little girl also enjoyed the special waiting room for kids. It had children's books and a TV turned to the Nickelodeon channel. A nice touch.

I wandered into this amazing place to get my sunglasses repaired. We don't have eyeglass stores like this where I come from, that's for sure. It looks more like a department store than an eye clinic! The staff was very helpful and friendly. A lady named Annie took care of me right away, did a great job of fixing my glasses, and then wouldn't accept any payment for helping me out. Exceptional service! They certainly won my future business.

I've been to alot of different optometrists but NEVER to one like Linden Optometry. Their selection of frames- I felt like I was a kid in a candy store! Overwhelming you might think but it was a great experience from start to finish. I was seen by Dr. Morrell, he was very knowledgeable and super nice. After the exam I started looking for glasses...a lady named Fe helped me. Spunky little thing! she was personable, funny and most importantly helped me find the perfect pair of glasses. She didn't try to push or sell me just anything- like some other places I've been to. She was honest and told me what looked good and what didn't-I really appreciated that. Overall an awesome place and I definitely would recommend Linden Optometry....

I go to the Linden Optometry, I have my eye examination with Dr. Lim-fat. He finds the pressure in my eyes is very high, which can be dangerous to my vision. He perscribes some drops for the eyes, tells me to get the perscription filled up right away. I go to CVS, they do not have these drops but they can get them after 5 days. I am thinking that is ok. Meanstime this Dr. Lim-fat is calling to my phone, leaving messages. Am I ok, do I use the drops? I finally calling him back and saying I do not have eye drops. Next thing, he send his worker to buy the drops for me, and deliver them to my work place, seriously! Wow, this is a special doctor, a good man. He is caring enough to do that for me.
I will not forget this act of kindness. God bless you Dr. lim-fat.

The eyeglass selection at this place is awesome. I've never seen anything like it before, and I've lived in a lot of different cities. Huge display area lined with eyeglass frames. Every brand and style imaginable.
I recommend a superb eye doc there named Rich Morrell. Intelligent, good-natured, a real interesting guy. I tend to be hard to fit for contacts and he very patiently worked with me until we found the perfect lenses. He was genuinely interested in helping me, and did not try to rush me at all.
I also brought my elder mother here. There's a lab on-site, and they made new lenses for her eyeglasses in a couple of hours.
I would avoid Saturday afternoons, since there seems to be lots of people who walk in for exams. Less crowded in the AM or on weekdays.
They also have free parking behind their building. Convenient, no hassle.

I agree with the reviewer Dianna below. Lindens is a very reputable
place. I??ve always been treated well by their staff.
To their detractors: Where else can you get an appointment to see a
doctor the very same day? When my son injured his eye playing
basketball, Linden??s took him in right away. At 7:30 at night! They
were kind and concerned and provided excellent care to him,
plus they take our insurance plan VSP.
They have many capable and caring doctors on their staff. We usually
ask for Dr. Morrell or Dr. Limfat ?? both are so sincere and caring,
and Dr. Yepremian has great bedside manner.
I don??t?? usually engage in name-calling, but that reviewer ??t?
below must be uneducated, or uninformed, or both. (In my opinion,
most likely a disgruntled former employee. I know how this online
review stuff works ?? my sister owns a small business. It??s usually
the people you fire ?? or your competitors -- who go on-line and say
terrible things about you.)

Dr. Emily Linden was wonderful in examining my daughter's eyes. At the school nurse's suggestion, we went to linden optometry on Colorado blvd. Dr. Emily was very patient and kind. She explained everything she was doing so that my daughter could understand. I was very impressed with the docs education and intelligence. I learned alot too. :o)
They have a special waiting room for kids, with children's books, toys, etc. Very kid-friendly. My daughter was very happy with the whole process.

Thorough eye exam and follow up. Linden has a good selection of eyewear. Lots of designers to choose from. Have Faye help you pick out your glasses. She's helpful and will help you select the right glasses for the shape of your face.

Had an outstanding experience with Dr. Marion Yan at Linden Optometry. This doctor was exceptionally patient in fitting me for contact lenses. I have been told by others that my eyes are a challenge (and that's a euphemism if ever there was one.) Dr. Yan had a can-do attitude and stuck with me till we got it right. The optical assistant had a great smile and was very helpful. My wife has always been impressed with their considerable inventory of designer frames (not particularly my cup of tea, but nice to look at.)
Thumbs up.

After visiting Linden optometry to get an eye examination, i kind of changed my opinion of them; previously the establishment had been friendly overall, but this time as I initially got them...there was no " professionalism and great customer service from the front desk...no smile to make you feel welcome and at ease...as I waited in the other rooms to be seen. the same as employees passed by they just looked at you like if tyou are a piece of furniture there. ONLY one person smlie and say hi out of about 8-10 different people that I came across. I mean , they are a professional corporation right ? or is it just for tax purposes and to limit their liabilities? They seemed to smilie more at each other (workers) than to the patients. I mean , we are their business. After reading some of the reviews, I feel like some of them too, being push around and treated like a fat cash cow...milked you and see you next year. Maybe I will change my optometrist and as well as my family's. I ve had it here for sometime for convenience and great choice of glasses, but at the end of the day to me customer service and professionalism matter more than that. I would think that a lot people would feel the same way too. So this is my last year they milked me and my family. These are my two cents...maybe one of the corpration members can read these reviews and do something before the milk runs out on them just like it did too Enron, and AIG.

After not one, not two but THREE tries, Linden couldn't get my SIMPLE prescription right. I finally took my frames elsewhere where they were filled perfectly the first go around. Do yourself a favor and save your time and money by going to a place that isn't crippled by unprofessionalism.

After 4 visits and 3 adjustments i was told of their return policy. 20% of the cost of the frame (no problem) however, lenses are not refundable. To make this clear they would take the frames back but not the lenses. WTH is there to do with two lenses specific to frames which you have returned??

Lenscrafters has a better return policy and better customer service overall.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THAT YOU GO ELSEWHERE!!!

My school's nurse asked that I take my son to the eye doctor because the eye test administered in school showed that my son may need glasses. I saw Dr. Linden (Asian female doctor) and she said that my son had mental problems and that I should take him to a psychologist because it was all in his head that he needed glasses. I was in the room with the doctor and my son, and my son did not get all the letters right. Dr. Linden points to her head and whispers, "See, take him to a psychologist". I was humiliated and wanted to tell her off, but my son was in the room. For Goodness Sake, my son is eight years old and I was doing the right thing by taking him to get his eyes checked. All young children should have their eyes checked! She went ahead and prescribed some glasses to satisfy the mental state of my son. How ridicolous!! So, please, do not take your childrent to Linden Optometry.

I can hear the concerns of those who've not had good experiences, but I've found that generally the doctors I've been to have been responsive to my needs. They've been very responsive to adjustments on my glasses. One can get better care elsewhere, especially considering the capacity they attempt to handle. Yet, under a budget constraint, it has been adequate for me.

I was trying to make an appointment for an eye exam while reading all these negataive reviews. They transferred me 4 times from one person to another and the last person put me on hold and the call got disconnected. Didn't call back and went to another optometry.

My visit to Linden Optometry was completely dreadful and a big waste of time. I went there because they were opened on a Sunday. I had a 1pm appointment and it took an hour an a half to been seen. I was passed from one person to the next and so forth. They have an assembly line set up and the way they run their practice is very inefficient. We were there a total of 3 hours and I walked out feeling like they didn't do anything for me and I had to return for a follow-up. For my follow-up, my appointment was at 11am, so I decided to arrive twenty minutes early. We waited almost an hour an a half before they called me. The follow-up was only suppsed to take fifteen minutes. I was wearing a trial pair of contacts and the doctor wanted me to switch the one I was wearing on my left eye to a different prescription. It took only two minutes to switch out my contact and to my surprise the doctor that i was working with took another patient so I had to wait for another doctor who had to look at my chart all over again. When I switch the contact on my left eye, my vision was blurred, yet that doctor asked me to try them out and return in a few days. I was so irrate and how could he send me off if I couldn't see as well. I asked for the doctor who had originally seen me ten minutes before which I had to wait since he was with another patient. I was so upset by this time that I asked for my original prescription. I didn't want to waste any more time there going in circles.

I was going to have my prescription filled but they asked for the funds upfront and they would reimburse me once my insurance paid them. Also, they charged me 75 dollars along with a 10 dollar copay for my follow-up exam which in eight years I have never had to pay for a follow-up and also I was not aware I was going to have to pay additional money. (they call it a fit exam which insurance companies do not cover)

On their website they claim to provide clients with quality care and take pride in their level of customer service and they do the complete opposite. It feels like they are running a business and see clients as dollars signs rather than try to treat each client with the care and attention they deserve in an appropriate amount of time. Customers come out cursing and upset. I left saying, "I hate this place." I will never return nor will I ever refer a patient.

BEWARE - Only go here if you are found of lousy customer service, spending lots of time in the waiting area, being shuffled around like a cow off to slaughter, and getting ripped off. This place is the equivalent to visiting the DMW, but the DMV offers much better customer service. If you choose to ignore these words, just remember, you have been warned.

Pros: Absolutely none. They will rip you off here. Avoid, avoid, avoid.

Cons: Everything. Don't go here!

I had a terrible experience at Linden Optometry.
1. Not personable. It's a cold hospital environment that makes you feel like a number.
2. I had a problem where they wouldn't give me my contact lens prescription after the exam. The insisted that I come back for a follow up visit before they would write a prescription. I talked to two optometrists and to the manager, and they all spoke to me in a condescending manner (ie., like I was a kid). They didn't budge and were rude expressing so. I'm still in shock of this place.
3. They charge high fees. They tacked on a $40 fitting fee to the contact lens exam fee. My exam costed over $100, where the place I usually get it down is about $50.

Overall, avoid this place like the plague. Sure they have lots of glasses and lots of doctors, but they're cold, mean and inflexible.

i've tried to give Lindens a chance for 3 years now (why? i don't know after today!)

i was in the store for 2 hrs... it felt like i was at walmart and i couldn't find anyone to help me. Then when i finally caugh someone's attention, the woman already had 2 people sitting at her desk and didnt really have time for me (commission?)

She threw my frames in a box without sitting me down and said to go pay (???) when i went up to the cashier i expressed that i had not even seen the lens sample (the cashier was very helpful and took me back to the saleswoman and asked her to show me the lens)... i also asked if i could actually try the frames ON WITHOUT THE PLASTIC SECURITY TAGS... and the saleswoman said "OHHH THIS WOULD TAKE A MANAGER...we are VERY BUSY, they'll be fine"

Anyway, I'm calling in to cancel my order since i fell like a complete FOOL thinking i was at a doctor's office and someone was a professional and/or gave (@*#&@*...

This store is a nightmare. It feels like you stepped into fluorescent hospital hell.

Outside the office its sell or be killed. Really bad assembly line service. I tried to get my eyeglasses adjusted and as i waited a nearby woman burst into tears yelling "You can never fix anything here!!, you always say you can but you just break it"

when i got my frames back they seemed to stay on my nose, but as i walked away i noticed the screw was bent/broken... so I asked the lady who originally fixed them if she could have another look and she just grabbed the frames and mangled them in front of me...(I can do that at home, mind you) then the lens popped out where the broken screw was and she said "They were fine after I fixed them, why are they broken"

Yes, it sounds like a crazy slapstick comedy, but unless you want to be part of it I recommend finding another doctor / eyeglass person to save yourself grief.

I just came back from Linden Optometry to ask about some new glasses and they knew nothing. It was the worst experience at an optometry store ever. It was like going to a crowded ER at a crappy hospital, but without all the mess. There were babies crying though.

I was waiting a the reception desk (that's at the back of the store) and there were two women dressed as nurses looking at each other and not doing anything. It took them about two-three minutes for them to notice the line that had formed in front of them.

When it was my turn to be helped, I asked them about my glasses and they immediately called this vicious Asian lady that, instead of telling me to go elsewhere to get "my special glasses that require special tools," she kept telling me the lenses were already scratched and they couldn't take it in.

It was just freaking stupid. I hope that, if you go there, you have a better experience than me, or a really freaking deal on glasses, because it's not worth it.

Pros: It's very annonimous and there are lots of bi-lingual people.

Cons: Pricey, poor customer service, too many people and very little done.

I want to say that the optometry I talked was very nice but that was the only, and I mean only, good quality about this place. I had to wait there 2 hours when I had an appointment. They way over price their frames and contacts. You have to go in for a follow up appointment or they charge you extra on your next visit. They also wanted me to wait and extra 90 minutes just so that I could get the nose guard on my glasses replaced. I have since gone else where and won't be returning.

After gentler than usual use of my sunglasses - they, Scotchguard protectant and all - scratched while stored in a case in my car. My previous shop would have replaced the lenses since it had been less than one year and I purchased the guard (only had to do that once before in over a decade of lens wearing). Linden wouldn't. They said instead of purchasing the scratch protectant, I should have paid $18 for their insurance or bought a different type of lens. Then what is the Scotchguard for if it doesn't increase the use or durability of these lenses?
Large selection if you enjoy feeling like you're at a cattle call or the DMV.

PROS: selection of frames
CONS: don't stand behind the product they sell. All the intimacy of a DMV.

I guess that's what you have to deal with if you want a huge selection of eyeglass frames to choose from. The moment I stepped through the door, I felt more like I was in a retail store of some kind than an optometrist office. I've always been used to smaller, more private practices in the past. The selection of frames is indeed vast, but I had a slight feeling of being at a cattle call. Once I was ushered to the back where the exam rooms were, it felt more professional in the sense that I was at a medical-type establishment. Most of the staff are quite friendly, except for a few at the main cashier area. Try not to go there close to the closing time, or you'll get the "shoo" treatment. I guess everyone just wanted to go home, but they could've been a little nicer.

*a recent dealing with this business has forced me to revise my opinion and drop these guys to 2 stars. similar to another reviewer, my frames broke after only 8 months of normal use. i called to ask if it was covered under any warranty, and was told that i should have paid $18 for their "warranty/insurance" when i purchased my glasses - to which i responded "i was never informed of or offered this service." the rep then told me my only option then was to pay $105 to replace the frame. that's absurd!!!

they probably don't care, since their wait lines are longer than the dmv, but i will definitely not be going back to place.

PROS: large selection of frames, parking, open long hours
CONS: too commercial, terrible customer service, no personal touch

Their service department is soooo slow, the staff is not well trained, to top that, has bad attitude. The place looks like a robot factory, impersonal, and certainly not professional. Not only they could not get my glass right even after three visits, they pointed the finger at anyone else but themselves. I had to go somewhere else, and miraculously that same glass, same prescription now fits perfectly. I will not go there any more.

I found myself at Linden Optometry the day after my glasses snapped in half. A co-worker recommended them because they accept walk-ins. I called anyway and got an appointment that day. The doctor who did my exam was totally unimpressive. I would have given these guys up but later in the visit I saw a different doctor who re-checked my contacts to see if they were well fitting and he was great. So I guess it is hit or miss depending on the doctor that you see.

PROS: Open 7 days a week, easy to make an appointment
CONS: Service is very impersonal

I went there recently for glasses and contacts. It was a long wait and that was during the week. They are open on the weekend, but I can't imagine what the wait is like. I got a very good price on my glasses. They have an extensive selection of name brand glasses, but there is a separate room with the sale ones. They honored the Costco price for my contacts which was much better, but they charged me for the fitting fee even though my prescription hadn't changed.

PROS: large selection
CONS: long wait

The good - This place has a HUGE selection of frames! The bad - You will have to literally take a number and wait your turn to have some assistance. There are rows and rows of seating for all the people waiting. I don't like that you see a different optometrist every time you go in for an exam - not very personal. They have fitted me with the wrong perscription, so beware.

VERY good place to get your eyes checked and fixed, provided your insurance covers it. Large showroom with eyeglasses and a range of contact lenses, if you are so inclined. But be aware of LONG waiting hours if you don't specify a particular doctor (I highly recommend Dr. Tracy Mayo) and/or on weekends or holidays.
