Our daughter was born premature at 28 weeks. She spent the first 3 months of her life at the Cedar Sinai NICU. She was on a ventilator for 2 months, required a feeding tube, and underwent heart surgery. Our Neonatologist, Dr. Reddy, was very knowledgeable and always available to answer our questions. Everyone in the NICU was better than the best, being in the NICU was the most frightening time in our lives. Finally we went home with oxygen and an apnea bradycardia machine. But going home without the support of the NICU nurses and Michelle, our incredible occupational therapist, was also frightening. We didn??t know what to expect and were told that our daughter may never walk. We were referred to the infant follow-up clinic with Dr. Kotton and Michelle (our favorite OT) who have followed her for the past two years. They have been so helpful in teaching us what to expect and guiding us through the appropriate early interventions. Dr. Kotton has been instrumental in getting us both PT and OT, AND getting it paid for. Now our daughter is off oxygen, eating by herself, but not walking. She is RUNNING!!! We are forever grateful to Cedars Sinai NICU.
