Jewelry Pavilion
The jewelry pavilion is a small jewelry store located inside the Macy's Plaza shopping center. They carry a select inventory of beautiful fine jewelry and watches. My only complaint is that most of the price tags do not clearly show the price. I was given an oral quote of the price of a bracelet. The salesperson was friendly but the price was definitely not a bargain.
PROS: Quality fine jewelry, watches
CONS: Expensive, price tags hard to read
Sheltams News On Third
I go by this news stand all the time on my way to the Farmer's Market, and there are always customers standing and reading their magazines and newspapers. They have a good selection. My only complaint is that it is in a dark spot of the Farmer's Market, so reading may be a little more difficult.
PROS: Good selection of reading material, easy access
CONS: Dark corridor, hard to read
Kip's Toyland
My husband and I wanted to go into this toy store because of the classic toys displayed in the window. Kips focuses more on unique and classic toy items, and is a refreshing change from a Toys r Us. Definitely worth a visit.
PROS: Classic, unique toy items
CONS: Narrow aisles, crowded display
Ralph's Key Shop
After a bad experience with another key shop, I went to this one to see if they could duplicate my mail key. They did a great job, and I found their colorful key accessories equally dazzling.
PROS: Good duplicate keys, good selection of key accessories
CONS:
Smoke & Stuff
Smoke & Stuff is a vendor stand inside the Macy's Plaza shopping center. Most customers go there for everything from cigarettes to Lotto tickets to gifts. I go there to purchase MTA passes and tokens. I like the fact that there are usually not long lines for tickets, and they have never run out. But if there is a problem with a token, they cannot make exchanges. One of the bags of tokens I received contained a defective token and they could not exchange it.
PROS: Never short on MTA passes
CONS: Long lines for cigarettes and lottery tickets, cannot exchange tokens
Bob's Coffee and Doughnuts
My husband and I go here to get ice cream for dessert after a good meal at the Farmer's Market. They have several flavors, and the aroma of the coffee and doughnuts are a plus. Great place.
PROS: Always smells good from coffee and doughnuts. Great ice cream.
CONS: Long lines
Pampas Grill
I tried this place after looking at several food places in the Farmer's Market. Their grilled meat entrees are wonderful, but pricey, and sometimes they have long lines. But it's definitely worth at least a try.
PROS: Great food, exotic taste
CONS: Pricey, long lines
La Korea
I was surprised when I ordered an entree at how tasty it was, and how it made me full. The bowl of food did not look like much at first, but by the time I finished it I had eaten a delicious, filling meal. Recommended.
PROS: Great Korean BBQ
CONS:
Moishe's Restaurant
Located inside the Farmer's Market, Moishes offers delicious Mediterranean/Middle Eastern food, including falafel, shish kabob, tabouleh, and chicken schwarma sandwiches. But they can be a little pricey and they don't take credit cards.
PROS: Great Middle Eastern Food
CONS: Cash only
Krazee Dog & Taco Loco
I tried this place's chili dogs, and it was good but expensive. However, I discovered that they carry Arizona green tea and other large bottles of tea and energy drinks, besides spring water.
PROS: Good selection of cold drinks
CONS: A little expensive
