This is the former haunt of beat generation icons such as Jack Kerouac and Neal Cassady, Vesuvio is a gritty, eclectic little bar with a lot of character world-renowned San Francisco saloon Vesuvio attracts a diverse clientele: artists, chess players, cab drivers, seamen and business people, European visitors, off-duty exotic dancers! from all walks of life
this church is famed for its Ghiberti doors ("The Gates of Paradise"), labyrinths, varied stained glass, and medieval and contemporary furnishings, as well as its carillon, organs, and choir. It's all so breathtaking it's a must see for the tourist in San Francisco looking for something to do. It's always open to the public and free...just be courteous after all it is a church!
such an eclectic range of art here at this gallery on market street. I love musuems and try to take in as many as possible, this one has beautiful architecture to go with the beautiful paintings and artifacts. a must see
I have always loved this zoo. It's big and beautiful and you can really appreciate all kinds of different animals that they have here. It's a great place to take children (there's a petting zoo on premisis) and a great place to just be a kid again!!
I couldn't believe it when i saw this place! Pier 39 has several restaurants you can go to OR you can prepare a meal in the galley (and I believe if you pay a little more someone will come and even do that for you!). Most boats have a TV and stereo. Overnight prices (as of 12/03) range from $200 per couple on a 34-foot motorcruiser to $375 a couple on a 50-foot McKinna flush deck motoryacht with 2 bedrooms. At Pier 39 you also get great views, shopping, and even a sea lion colony.
CONS: you better save up cuz to me it's pricey to shell out anywhere from 200 to 375/night but such a cool experience!!
I love this place the old-fashioned British-style B & B hotel with pub. The staff are extremely nice and helpful and although for me a little pricey (rooms, including continental breakfast, start at 82.50 in the main building) if you don't mind shelling out a little more it's worth it.
if your looking for a place to just hang your hat while you take in the sites of San Francisco then you need to check this place out. They have cheaper weekly and monthly rates, too. the Lowest rates on Union Square - Starting at just $39/night
A comfortable and charming bed-and-breakfast inn in a 1913 Edwardian building with unique furnishings. it is between Downtown and Nob Hill and close to Chinatown.
