I love this spa. I am a little parital because I used to work there but I go back as often as I can. The Pasadena location can be a little tough to find because it's tucked away in Old Town Pasadena, but it is SO worth it! The entire place is very calm and relaxing. Everything is very clean and the staff is extremely helpful. They have a lot of therapists so you can always find someone that suits your tastes perfectly so that your experience is everything that it should be.
I have always enjoyed El Cholo. I LOVE their margaritas (although they are not as good when you order them by the pitcher) and the chicken chimichangas are so good I haven't even bothered to try anything else. It's not a place to go and have an intense, quiet conversation but it's fun for birthday parties. If you like it a little quieter week nights are nice because it's not as busy.
This place is amazing! It's really small so you will have to wait for awhile almost any morning, but it is SO worth it. I have only been there for breakfast but I think that they serve lunch too. Their breakfast is amazing! I took my mom and her sister and they both had the largest omlets I have ever seen. I had the macademia nut pancakes and they were amazing. They were pretty sweet and you really could share them with another person because they were so big and fluffy. It was really nice to sit out on the patio but you can't do that if your party is more than about 4 people becuase it's not very large. They can accomodate larger groups inside though.
I have only been here once, but it was pretty good. I am not a fan of seafood so for dumplings my only option was pork. However, they were very good. They also have a great assortment of side dishes that you can get. It's a little odd to stand outside and order before being seated but it is nice to get your food moments after sitting down. Because it's so polpular it's very crowded and they will rush you out of there once you are done eating so don't go if you want a leisurely dinner. If all you want are really good dumplings for a good price, then this is the place for you.
I know that this store is a little expensive but they have some great stuff. They have some especially great gifts for those people that you just can't ever figure out what to get. I got one of those squishy pillows that have all the little beads inside of them before other stores started selling similar things. These were a little more expensive but they are better than any other ones that I have seen. I love to take it when I travel because it's light weight but makes a long car ride a lot more comfortable. They have stuff in all price ranges so you can still find something fun for not a lot of money.
I love this ice cream! It is some of the creamiest ice cream around. They make it fresh on a regular basis so you know that it hasn't been sitting in a big tub forever. Even their frozen yogurts are better than most. They take your ice cream and put it on a cold marble slab and then mix in whatever toppings you want. My favorite is the cheesecak ice cream with raspberries! They are a little pricey but it's a nice treat on a really hot day!
If you are a fan of frozen yogurt, then this is a great place for you. This location is always crowded so you will have to wait in line but they do a pretty good job of getting you through quickly. They have all kinds of things that you can have mixed into your yogurt or they have some coices that have been premixed already. It's not a super cheap treat but it's fun every once in awhile on a hot day.
This is a pretty good 7-Eleven store. It is close to my house so I am in there every once in awhile for something. It is pretty large so they have lots of different things. I have always liked to go to a 7-eleven in the summer and get a slurpee in the middle of the afternoon. It's just one of those great places to stop in and stock up for a road trip or whatever.
I much prefer Godiva chocolate over See's chocolate. The quality of chocolate is much higher. It is a richer chocolate and all around a smoother texture. I prefer the fillings that they have as well. See's has some strange things in their chocolate and you just never know when you are going to get one. I have never had a bad surprise in a Godiva chocolate. I also think that they are nicer to look at as well. They are more expensive but I'd take a smaller box of Godiva any day over anything else!
This is a really nice Borders location. It's very large so it has a great selection. There is a really nice coffee place inside as well. I like to get a cup of coffee and just wander around for awhile to see what they have. They always have discount tables out and you can find some really great deals on books that way. A few times that I have been in this one there has been live music of some kind that was really neat. It means that it's not as quiet as a library but it makes for a nice atmosphere for shopping.
