I love the prices and I love the food....what's left? I like to get up early ona Saturday morning and call in my order, I have been doing it since I first moved back to OC in '96 for culinary school. The best Huevos Ranchero, and they even have low- fat cheese and beans...which helped when it came time to take off all the weight I gained in culinary school. ( hehe!)
I often run by for lunch and find myself unable to decide, but at those great prices, I can pick a few, and save the leftovers for lunch the next day!
The owner is a great guy, too.....
I went to Taco Mesa yesterday with my mom and brother...and things were just ok. It was Taco Tuesaday, yet the usuall promo material was nowhere to be found, ( ie, flyers with all the $1 deals listed) so we had to ask about all the special priced food and drink specials, which seemed to bother the guy behind the counter. Now don't get me worng, I have always liked the food here. The fact that you can get whole wheat tortillas is a BIG plus for me, because I cannot eat the regular bleached flour tortilla, but I once ordered by phone, got back to work, and found my burrito in a white tortilla. I went on their website, and left a comment about the disappointing experience. the next time I went in, the guy said, "oh, yea, I read your email" and that was it, no sorry, no discount, no free chips, nada!
For fast healthy great tasting mexican food, Chipotle is the best! My whole family loves it, but we all have our favorites. My mom likes the chicken salad with the sweet chipotle honey vinaigrette. My brother goes for the carnitas fajita burrito, or a combo of soft and hard shell tacos. I prefer the fresh carne asada over lettuce with all the yummy extras. You get to watch them make your food right in front of you, and let them make it how you like it. genius!
This zoo is really one of my faorites, and I have done a bit of traveling, and seen some zoos. I love that it is small, and close to home, and you can go and take a look, and not sprend your whole day out in the hot sun,. It is clean, and the varitey of animals is great. They have a cute little park outside for the kids, and at one time they had elephant and camel rides as well. You can pack a lunch, and enjoy a little picnic also, and there is plenty of nice shade.
PROS: Small, clean, cool
CONS: Sometimes a little crowded
This Conroys is a great location, right on the corner of Harbor and Baker. This is the place that is easiest for my fiance to get inand out of, when he is shopping for flowers for me. He will usually go there on his way home from work, and pick up a little bouquet of something cute for me, if we are having a date, or on a special occasion. He picked up flowers from this location on our first date, if I am not mistaken. He likes that the staff is friendly, and most importamntly, guy-friendly, and will help him make a decision about something he isn't exactly an expert in. They always have a grerat selection, and once the flowers are home, they last for days, so I know they are fresh. Let's cross our fingers for Valentine's Day, huh?
PROS: Good Location
CONS: A bit on the pricey side
After all these years of going to Disney's old park, it is nice to have a new place, just across the way, to explore. I have lived in Southern California for almost all of my 32 years, and even though Disneyland is fun, it was beggining to get a little stale. With the opening of the new park, we now have all sorts of new rides and attractions to see. "Soarin" is my favorite attraction on the new side, and you can't miss "A Bug's Life"!
I have watched this Macy's grow alot in the past few years. It used to be kind of yucky, and always have GREAT shoe sales, and now that it is all moved around, I can't seem to find that old lovin feeling that I used to have for it. I sometimes buy my Clinique from them, when they have a bonus, but have been put off by rudeness from the cosmetic's girls. The juniors section is so annoyingly loud and obnoxious, that I feel like an old lady. I do like the men's store, tho
I took Jenae's advice, and went to the Crystal Court store, to do my shopping this time, and she was right. I somehow ended up in the main mall, and was so disappointed, nothing in my size, and everything so messy. When I walked in across the street, I told the girl about insiderpages, and that they were recommended over the scp store, and she was thrilled. Ended up buying my bra's online, as I have a pretty big size, and they didn't have both colors in stock.
If I had a million dollars, I would spend a large chunk of it here. I always ask for Sephora gift cards for my birthday, and keep them until I really need someting. They have a great selection of hair products, and carry my favorite hair bands, that cost a fortune, but don't snag your hair. I use Clinique cosmetics, and if i don't feel like walking all the way to Rob-May, or macy's, I can usually find just what I need there, and the staff is very helpful.
