This park is worth the drive, if you live in Los Angeles. Rambling and spread out, it has everything from large numbers of picnic tables to a lake. This is the park that a family reunion would take place at. There's plenty of space and lots of thingsto do here. The only problem is the drive, especiallly if you live in San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita, or the Westside. However, it is quite functional, and worth it for large, special occasions. Can get hot during the summer, so dress accordingly.
This is a multi-functional park, and is very large. Lots of sport's activities take place here, but they also have a nice children's playground, and a Senior Citizen Center. Not much of relaxation place, but a place to go for activity, hobbies, and sports. A warning...during the late spring and summer it can get very hot, so dress for the weather.
I like New Balance Shoes because they specialize in shoes for wide feet. These are sometimes hard to find. Also, they have a variety of other items and clothing apparel. New Balance makes a very reliable and durable shoe, but the selection is usuallypoor at chain stores. Drop by this store, and you will find what you're looking for.
A place to visit for a wide variety of Nike shoes and other Nike products. The prices are high, but you will find products here that you won't find elsewhere. Exclusively Nike! Also, located in Beverly Hills, so you might see a celebrity during your visit. Parking a hassle, and Wilshire Blvd. can be a bear. But, definitely a unique shoe store, and at least worth a one-time shot.
I love visiting Miceli's Restaurant because the food is good and the ambience is entertaining and interesting. This is one of those places where the waiters sing, and although one would think this would be an annoyance, it it actually quite fun and adds to the enjoyment of this place. Gets kind of crowded, and reservations are recommended. Their rolls are delicious, and their pizzas are among the best in L.A.
Very disappointing and I wouldn't recommend at all. Service is poor, and I felt, very unfriendly. Food is average, and the lighting and ambience is too dark. Parking is terrible, and one must be lucky to get anything nearby. I was particularly put off by the rather rude and non-chalent attitude shown by the waiters and other staff. Needless to say, I will not re-visit this establishment again.
This is a decent hot dog, but for some reason, it is not as enjoyable as those served at the originals in Van Nuys. Prices are a little high, and the parking in this shopping center is not consumer friendly. The dogs taste good, however, and this is one of the better hot dog places in the local community. Drive into L.A. to Pink's if you want the best.
Although it is a little cramped in here, I would recommend Egg Plantation for those who enjoy omlettes. The menu is diverse and would appease most omlette lovers, I believe. Mix and match ingredients, as well as basic fare, are available, all for reasonable prices. The ambience is old Victorian, and is appealing. Visit late in the morning for a brunch, and you won't be disappointed.
Well, if you're hungry, this is the place. It is old-fashioned American food, and plenty of it here. Fried chicken, mash potatoes, meat loaf, liver and onions, dumplings, etc. Plenty of desserts and beverages. It tends to get crowded at times, and there are lots of families who visit. Food is average, but it is for those days and nights when you don't care about your waist line or your New Year's diet. I call it a specialty eating place. Visit occasionally, don't make it a habit.
I would recommend Minnie Max Cleaners for you dry cleaning needs. I bring all my clothing here for dry cleaning and special needs, and find the service to be very efficient and speedy. The staff is friendly and the prices are very competitive. Parking can be a problem at times, as this place is in a small strip mall, but don't let this stop you from visiting. Highly recommend Minnie Max.
