Supermall of The Great Northwest
The SuperMall really is. Its fun to shop as there are so many stores to choose from. While they are supposed to be outlet stores, offering a discount on merchandise, some stores prices seem a bit high. But you cant go wrong with stores like Nordstrom Rack, Naturalizer Outlet, Banana Republic Outlet, just to name a few. And there is always something good to eat in the food court.
Ikea
IKEA offers a little of everything you need for the home. The prices are excellent. The quality and value are fine. Their products are best suited for young people just starting out, or if you dont want to spend a lot of money on a piece of furniture. Some assembly required.
School Employees Credit Union
I joined the credit union shortly after starting this job. I knew nothing about them, but was unhappy with my previous bank. I quickly learned why my parents have been banking with the SECU for 35 years. Service is exceptional ? even better than Nordstrom. My checks are free, they don?t charge me for low balance on either checking or savings, and they helped me buy a car.
Stylin' Salon
This small salon is owned and operated by one person, yet she always manages to see all her clients in a timely manner. She?s been in the business for many years, and branched out on her own recently to this place. She?s recently added a second stylist who specializes in ethnic hair, and a nail artist.
Harbor Gate Apartments
I have lived in this complex for nearly 15 years, so that tells you something about it. It?s no longer the best location, but it?s convenient to stores, freeways, etc. The complex is small with no amenities, but this gives it more of a community feel. They offer both one and two bedroom units. The two bedrooms contain washer/dryer and fireplace. I?m moving out this month so I know there is a vacancy.
Qfc-Quality Food Ctr Inc
QFC has changed little since Fred Meyer bought them up. My neighborhood store is a nice place to shop and carries most everything I need. The prices may be a little more than other grocery chain stores, but Id spend more driving to one of them. The staff at this store is friendly and helpful.
Curves
While I belong to a full service gym, I have heard wonderful things about Curves from family and friends. Its a specialty gym serving women, and you can finish your workout, both weights and cardio, in 30-minutes. This is not my kind of workout, but those I know love it. It gets them moving and exercising where they might not otherwise at a gym with big weights and big men. I hear this is the best club in our area.
Gene Juarez Salons & Spas
Gene Juarez Salon and Spas are wonderful. I have frequented the Southcenter store for years for everything from hair cuts, manicures, pedicures, waxing, and make-overs. And now that the salon has been remodeled, its beautiful and just visiting is can be a relaxing experience. The staff is excellent and the stylists are truly artists.
REI
The REI Flagship store puts all the rest to shame. Its a shopping experience. The building was innovative when built, and still looks cool inside and out. The climbing rock is fun for every one. The store offers a great variety of products, and the sales staff is knowledgeable because theyve actually done the activities their products are used for.
Spirit Of Washington Dinner
The Spirit of Washington Dinner Train is more than just a restaurant, it?s an adventure. The train leaves Renton; you have dinner, fine wine, watch some nice scenery. You stop at a winery, take a tour, sample some wine. Back on the train and it?s time for dessert and head home. In the winter when there?s not much to see at night, become part of a mystery and figure out ?who-dunnit.?
