If you know what you need and just want to run in and get it by all means go to best buy. Don't expect to get too much in the way of assistance from the hight school staff, and certainly don't expect awnsers to tough questions. That is if you can find someone who will admit to knowing anything about anything.
Don't bother with the rebates. They are impossible. I've tried several times with different items and they are always lost or thrown out on some ridiculous technicality.
The prices sometimes can't be beat - but don't assume. You can often do just as well or better elsewhere.
PROS: Price, Convenience
Locally owned and operated, with excellent service. Reccomended for people with allergies and asthma, Howies cleans your air ducts to higher standards than most, with high quality HEPA filters. Price quotes seem higher at first, except there is no bait and switch and the quality of service is really first class/
PROS: Service, Quality, Integrity
Granted I am not and never have been a member of this church. I went there for a memorial service. I was totally unimpressed, as were many who attended the service.
In the sermon given by the minister, he made derogatory and downright untruthful remarks regarding the religion the deceased had been raised in, knowing full well that some of her family were still members of this other denomonation, or at least did not have such unflattering views of it.
It seemed very wrong to make comments like that at a memorial service, which should be inclusive of a persons friends and family rather than further upset them. I got the impression that, no matter how well intentioned, the minister was recruiting the heathens to his one true way. It left a very bad taste and based on that alone, I would never consider this church or any other like it.
South Whidbey Island is a great place to spend a weekend, but the resort hotels are outrageously expensive.
The Langley Motel is in the heart of the quaint little town of langley, overlooking the water with a great view of the mountains. Apartment like private entrances to kitchenette rooms and suites. For a motel, this is pretty classy. Nicely appointed rooms are tastefully decorated, not with your traditional paisly hotel stuff, but the kind of things you might have in your own home. Kitchenettes have all the utensils and whatnot you need and you are just a three minute walk from a great little general store, so you can really save on eating out. There is a houskeeper and a small office, but it is mostly unstaffed. It was nice and private. The price is extremely reasonalbe. Maybe not luxurious, but I would definatley stay there again.
There is no local number listed, The number above is actually an 866 number.
PROS: Homey, reasonable rates, great location, views
CONS: no frills service
Like most thrift stores, it's kind of hit or miss. Not usually to good in the furniture area. Unlike some of the traditional charity run shops, they seem to weed out some of the real bad stuff. Perhaps a little overpriced sometimes on certain items however. And you kind of wonder how much of the money really goes back to the charities.
If you are actually poor, you might to better at goodwill, but if you just want to have some fun searching for the thrift store holy grail check it out.
They have great costumes, new and used at halloween time too!
PROS: Better quality selection
Half the time if you even find someone in the big home improvment stores to help you, they are either clueless or its "not their department". McClendons is NOT like that. Their staff is knowledgable, friendly and eager to help. It's an old fashioned neighborhood hardware store. Only better. The store is small enough not to overwhelm you, but large enough to carry everything you need - even a great garden department.
Absolutley awesome service! You can't beat it. There is always someone to awnser your questions. Stores all over the greater Seattle area.
PROS: Service, Quality, Hometown Goodness
My mother in law had some flowers sent to us from out of state. This florist delivered them to the wrong address by leaving them out on the doorstep, even though the slip clearly indicated to deliver with signature only. Only several days later when my mother in law called to see if I'd recieved anything did we even realize what had happend. The florist called me the next day and was pretty impatient with me, almost like he didn't believe I hadn't recieved them. They were not very accomadating in setting up a new delivery time and even suggested I should come pick them up. Then when they agreed to deliver them again, they said they would knock on the neighbors door and try toget them back for me. Three day old flowers! I must have made my annoyance with that clear however because they did deliver a new arraingment. But they never confirmed my address. Thank goodness after the call ended I thought to call back and make sure they had the correct address - because they didn't. It was correct on the original forms, but numbers were transposed on the delivery slip.
When the flowers finally arrived, they were very nice, but there was no additonal apology, or so much as a sorry for the mix up. Knowing the way a company treats customers when something goes wrong says a lot about the company, and after this experience, I don't think I would do business with them again, especially not for a delivery
PROS: Nice Flowers
CONS: Bad Customer Service
Most people buy meat in the supermarket for convenience, but once you treat yourself to shopping at a real butcher shop, you will never look at supermarket meat the same way.
Don & Joes meats in Pike Place market is one of the best. Extremely knowledgable and accomadating butchers. Specailty cuts done quickly and happily. They can even help you out if you are unframiliar with how to cook something, or what type of cut to use for a particular recipe.
Prices are somewhat higher for some items than in the supermarket, but comparable on others. What you pay for is a wider selection of fresher, higher quality meats and superb service.
PROS: Service Quality Freshness
This place really is magical! Not your average corporate toy store. If you want the latest "in" toy, don't go here - but if you want something, unique, high quality, and maybe even educational, this is the place to go. There are even lots of toys out on tables for the kids (or adults) to try out.
Novely items, books, even tarot cards. This place is really fun to explore for kids of all ages. Next time your in Pioneer Square check it out.
PROS: Unique items, Fun atmoshpere, anti-corporate
CONS: prices are a little high on some items
Les Schwabb tires has good service for your tires and other basic car maintanance needs. The guys seem pretty knowledgable and friendly. Quick service and you can often get a same day appointment for easy stuff.
They can't fix major issues with your engine, but they do a pretty good once over and can refer you to a full service garage if they find something out of whack.
Tires carry a good warranty and are reasonably priced.
PROS: Service, Quality, Price
CONS: Limited Garage Services
