This shop is mostly a bridal shop but they carry other items (sweaters, skirts, jewelry, handbags) as well - but I think bridal is where they do their main business. The other stuff is nice but some of it is VERY high prices (like $250 sweaters and even more for skirts and $600 necklaces). If you've got money to burn though they have BEAUTIFUL things. I just honestly can't afford most of it.
PROS: Beautiful clothing and accessories
CONS: Very expensive
U C Berkeley Extension offers many courses at night for professionals. It is tough for me to judge the quality as I only took one course there. The course I took was calculas and it was over my head and the professor was tough to understand as he spoke with a heavy accent. The course I'd rate as only 3 stars since the professor had such a heavy accent that, honestly, I just found him tough to understand. He gets 3 stars for being very competent and nice. Again, tough ot judge overall quality of this U C Berkeley Extension without having taken a wide variety of courses.
PROS: Wide variety of classes at convenient times
AMAZING food at this tiny and wonderful restaurant in Russian Hill - great variety and DELICIOUS - in San Francisco. This places beats all of the italian places in North Beach (i.e. tacky tourist traps with mediocre food) by leaps and bounds. Best italian in SF by far. Service is sometimes questionable a little but can be overlooked
PROS: Great, delicious food with good atmosphere
CONS: sometimes waiters are not the friendliest
All Sunglass Hut stores are the same. A wide selection of sunglasses, many brands, all in one store. I'm sure the website gives a good feel for the brands they carry and the general store vibe. This store is like all the others around the country but perhaps on the smaller side.
PROS: Wide variety of brands, Good return policy
CONS: Generic feel of store, Smaller location than some others
Most everyone knows Borders by now - great selection of books and also a nice coffee shop. They'll also gladly order you any book you want and hold it for several days which is fabulous! This store in Union Square is no exception to all the great things Borders represents at all locations. Only bad thing is no parking.
PROS: Good Selection, Nice Service
CONS: No Parking
This is a small boutique in the Marina district. I find the merchandise confusing in its assortment. The owner is the NICEST person ever so I wish I could endorse the store but I usually can't find stuff here that I like very much. It seems geared towards those less fashion conscious or older - but not intentionally. I just find their clothing frumpy and not cute. Always disapointed when I swing through here and don't plan to go back.
CONS: Not cute clothes, Prices are still medium-high
I used to love this premium french boutique but the return policy is lousy (store credit only) and since they're selection is so so so tiny it is tough to find something you like if you choose to return an item. It just bugs me how little stuff they have in the store - it doesn't make it worth the trip there. I have found some beautiful coats there but they average $600 more or less which is just so so expensive. The rest of the stuff is hit or miss.
PROS: Good quality
CONS: Small selection, Bad Return Policy
This Pacific Heights Boutique carried both dressy (dresses, coats, fancy hlater tops for evening wear) and casual wear (jeans, tshirts, thong flip flops). They also have some jewelry. They have a good assortment of things and the people who work there are friendly and not too pushy or snobby. The prices aren't cheap though - the store is expensive because it is high-end brands like Earl Jeans, Poleci etc. They often have a couple racks of sale clothing from past seasons.
PROS: Great Assortment, Cozy Atmosphere, Top Brands
CONS: High Prices

This is a cute Pacific Heights boutique that specializes in casual weekend wear. They have super cute pants and tops and all sort of bags and some shoes/sandals. It is a mix of items, most of which are pretty expensive but worth it if you have the money to shop at such boutique for high-end brands. The people who work here are pretty nice too!
