This is such a wonderful store - it is full of beautiful shoes and lovely accessories. Downside is that since they're all so beautiful things are expensive and this place can be tough on your wallet. The selection is fabulous though - the owner really works to bring in unique, high-end items that you can tell she bought overseas and from really special shoe-makers and accessory makers.
PROS: Great selection, Good Service, Not Pushy
CONS: With great selection of high-end items, comes high prices
This is a great neighborhood place for Thai food which tastes GREAT. The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. Atmosphere is non-descript and forgettable but it's ok since dinner is cheap and delicious. Yum Yum
PROS: Great, cheap food - Good fast service
CONS: lame/forgettable atmosphere
This is a weird place - it has a huge movie theatre in it which is great but the stores in the mall part of it are weird and never 'speak' to me and so easy to bypass. This place is only good because of the number of movie theatres - no other reason
PROS: large # of movie theatres
CONS: very crowded and bad stores in the mall part of it
This place has a great reputation and I went there expecting something good. SO disapointed - I got stuck sitting at the counter which is totally lame given the prices. The decor is very plain and diner-esque. Food was good - but didn't make up for bad atmosphere, shorteage of good dining tables and overall lame decor ESPECIALLY given that the prices were high. I can't believe how popular this place is in San Francisco. I did only go one time though so who knows if it was a one-time experience...
PROS: Good food
CONS: Dining counter is lame, decor is not impressive
This is a dark and cozy place. It can be quite romantic if you want it to be. The food is really tasty and nothing has disapointed me here. They serve a variety of foods. Following is a good description of the place written by the founder... "For some time I had been thinking about opening a small cafe and bar where eating and drinking is not an event. In fact, a sort of 'anti-restaurant' without the high
concept and relentless planning it takes to get a table at a big, downtown restaurant. I imagined a warm neighborhood place where poeple come and go before or after a
movie or the theater, for instance. One should be able to eat in an hour yet stay for several with friends. Pretty simple food---crispy roast chicken, and good frites. A little (but not much) music playing on the stereo, a good bottle of Syrah and a decent smile from the server. The kind of place I want to eat in now but never seem to find.
Florio is my idea of the other place, the third place we need in our lives. Not work or home, but somewhere in between. It doesn't create a culinery splash since it reassures rather than challenges the guest."
PROS: Great Food and Reassuring Atmosphere
CONS: Gets Super Busy!
Great atmosphere combined with wonderful food - great steaks, great raw bar, fabulous fun bar in the restaurant. It's not cheap but not super expensive either. Try to get a booth instead of a table in the middle of the restaurant. Nothing on the menu has disapointed to date - brunches on Sunday are pricey but delicious too. After dinner there are a number of bars in the area to enjoy.
PROS: Location, great food, fun atmosphere
CONS: Don't take reservations
This is a tiny place with a casual environment. I LOVE the fresh seafood and the good variety of it - great prices too. Fabulous fabulous and tasty fresh seafood dishes.
PROS: Good Prices, Great Tasty Food
CONS: Gets crowded during busy times
Disapointing for the prices. Last 2 haircuts by two different stylists at their salon on Post in the Financial District have disapointed as did my last color. This place is expensive for San Francisco and supposed to be one of the best places in SF. I won't be going back again - it's just a dressed up place but the quality is average.
CONS: Inconsistant, over-priced, mediocre
This is a good, reputable salon but it is just very large and busy feeling. I don't enjoy going here because it is too much hustle and bustle. I prefer this same salon but the location on Filmore St which is much more approachable and easy-going. Both have high quality services.
PROS: Quality Services
CONS: Large atmosphere and factory-feeling
It's not a fancy place but the service is solid and the people who work there are super nice. Prices are so reasonable. Atmosphere is very casual - come for the cheap service.
PROS: Good Prices, Not Fancy
CONS: Service is good for prices
